  1. The Gideon disdain is interesting considering that there’s a solid argument that Safety was our most improved position group this year. Jerrin Thompson looks like a completely different player with an NFL future. Plus, Gideon has recruited well and currently has a 5 star safety committed for next year.
  2. Another long off-season quickly approaches. This will be another running thread of all staff related updates. While we aren’t expected to lose any on field coaches at the moment, a new NCAA rule is expected to be implemented this spring that would allow for unlimited on field coaches starting this summer. It was fun to look through last years thread and see how we felt about certain members of the staff compared to now. This offseason is going to be huge. Hopefully if GP moves on, we could replace him with a guy like Jimmy Lake or Jeff Hafley if he is eventually let go at BC. Finally, I hope that Sark will add an equivalent of GP on the offensive side too. I have been told to pay attention to Todd Dodge, apparently Sark has been trying to add him to the staff behind the scenes and Dodge has been telling other HS coaches that he might make the move.
  3. We should be much better at Edge next season too. The future is bright.
  4. Turns out that all the PK groveling all off-season was premature. Really excited to see how we look as he continues to bring in his kind of guys.
  5. Where are y'all at with this team? On one hand this doesn't look like the same old Texas. There's clear progress and we are so young across the board. If this team sticks together it's not hard too imagine them really breaking through at some point. Especially if we can have a handful of early impact guys from this class. Also, hats off to PK, that was probably the best Texas defensive performance in at least 10 years. 14 TFL's, 5 sacks, and a TD in a losing effort is almost unbelievable. Development is there, Ford, Cook, Sorrell, Coburn, Sweat are prime examples. We haven't seen player progression like this around here in a long time. ....Though on the other hand, Sark is starting to look like burnt orange Scott Frost. You have to try really hard to lose 80% of your one score games. You cannot lay an egg like that in a game of that magnitude. 8-4 is a good season all things considered but these losses have been brutal.
  6. Gerry reported on IT YouTube channel that Kyle Parker could visit this weekend too.
  7. This after that Aggie mod said he'd be shocked is unbelievably funny
  8. Brooks and Blue are a nice floor as well, so it’s not like we are totally screwed if he decides to look elsewhere. RB is one of the least of my concerns because barring sheer bad luck our OL should be pretty damn good these next few years.
  9. Yes, he also is extremely biased due to his having a coaching position at Waxahachie. He got into a Twitter spat with Johntay Cook following their loss to DeSoto last month.
  10. We’ve had two weeks to prep. We better find a way.
  11. Our defense isn’t nearly as bad as some of us are making them out to be. Perhaps it can be attributed to lack of trust and PTSD for what we endured last season. Yes, our secondary can get abused a little here and there but our D is good enough for us to win (especially against the run) and they are more of an asset rather than a detriment to this team. I’d bet the majority of P5 schools would trade their defense for ours. All of this being said without having a single bonafide pass rusher and only one above average cover guy I’d say we are actually playing above expectations to this point. I think the line on this game is what it is because of the way we were able to run the ball against a really good Iowa State D. They weren’t gimmick runs or Bijan having to make three guys miss behind the LOS, they were downhill you know we are going to run but you can’t stop us kind of runs. If we can run at will like that rate moving forward, then this offense will be as difficult to stop as just about any in CFB. This offense, and team in general is just barely scratching the surface. Sark has just got to find a way to avoid a letdown
  12. I am just glad to see us win a close game after blowing a second half lead. That’s progress
