That Edge scholarship list is unacceptable at a program like rice let alone Texas smh thats so bad.
corner numbers are laughable too. cant really develop guys when they aren't even on campus lol

I am more concerned about Adimora's lack of PT than Owens. Owens was a low 4 star who tested well after he committed and got overhyped. I also think that he was rated a 5 star after he signed in the last rankings update. Adimora on the other hand has actually made plays for this team in the past and has good ball skills. it will be very interesting to see what Texas does in the portal because we will have a lot of holes and a chance to reinvent what we do on D.

I wonder if Sarkisian fails to realize that the quick strike offense, while exciting and absolutely essential at times, is nullified by the defense staying on the field for way too long. Time of possession is certainly not everything and I certainly don't advocating going full Jimbo snapping the ball with less than a second on the play clock (probably couldn't even do that because our OL doesn't focus and would likely be penalized), but it must be taken into account.
Saying this a week after we almost lost to tcu due to struggles in the redzone is laughable. Never leave points on the field. Score, score, and score some more.

I said this in the game week thread but also want to share it here. Not trying to pump sunshine but just wanna give perspective. That was the best prepared Texas football team in a long time. Sark had us ready.
After Arkansas, everyone saw the schedule and it was best case scenario for us to go through Tech, TCU, OU, and Okie lite with a 3-1 record. That is still on the table. The doom and gloom stuff gets old guys. Just appreciate a team and watch guys get better. We had a freshmen go 9 catches for 261 and two td’s yesterday. Future is bright.

As long as there is a problem with defense, there will always be a potential for a shootout. I get that we're damn nearly every team's Super Bowl, but OU sucks scored the most points it did all season against us. Some of that is mitigated by the fact that OU's backup QB came in and their offense began firing on all cylinders.
Given the results of the first two conference games, don't be surprised if we're in for more close games decided by single digits.
The coaching staff is selling future potential to recruits. Most can see it on the offensive side, but outside of DL, it's more difficult to visualize that potential on the defensive side.
@Barbacoahave you heard any scuttlebutt about plans for the portal for defensive players?
I mean it’s modern CFB bro this is always a possibility haha. Everyone has shootouts

If LSU was smart there is a guy down in San Antonio that would be a good hire.
He’s going to Tech

the lovely part about this is Gundy gets and extra week and our OU game tape to chew on.
I thought we had a chance to be 5-1, coming into this game but 4-2 isn't the end of the world. Steve has a big job this week. season could get ugly.

I think some of you are just being emotional there are plenty of reasons for optimism. Casey played at an elite level and we finally have the deep ball now so this offense is officially legit. Defense will be a problem but there is not another team left on the schedule that can beat us in a shootout. The aggy win is not ideal but it is what it is. We will portal the f*** out of linemen and we will be a hot destination for skill guys. Priority #1 is getting Arch to love everything about his visit this week. We lost a tough game but that team I saw yesterday was still better than any team I’ve seen us put on the field in a long time. PK gotta get his crap together

Have fun in East Lansing, bud. Have to wonder how much we've really been after him this year... dude's barely come up at all, and hasn't exactly set the world on fire on the field.
I bet we go all in on Thompson and Stewart and go portaling for another

Winfield is on decommit watch. Scrubbed Texas stuff from his Twitter bio and unliked pro Texas tweets.
-
I think we get a commitment today. I don’t think they would send the bat symbols unless they got someone in the boat. Those things lose their meaning if they aren’t real kinda like what happened with amber alerts.

About Stewart specifically or just generally another commit coming?
Just on Twitter. Roach said he’s working on a big story and Harris sent a cryptic sark after dark tweet

Harris and Roach seem to be hinting

Malik did tweet two smiley faces earlier today could’ve been foreshadowing . getting Stewart would be huge

False. They couldn't run him out of Columbus fast enough. They gave up 100 more yards per game from the previous year after he became DC. Or Co-DC, if you want to split hairs. All I know is that going from tOSU to Oklahoma is at best a lateral move, and more accurately a GTFO from Urban Meyer.
Sure, he's been better than Mike Stoops was at OU, but I'm still not buying him as some great defensive mind. This conference isn't what it once was offensively.
He was not the playcaller at Ohio state

Can you elaborate on your thoughts about Grinch? Or what the word "great" means to you, so we can have some context?
Everywhere he’s been he’s made the defense better. He takes away what the offense does best and forces you to beat him differently than you beat the last team. His teams struggle with vertical offenses but he balances it out with an aggressive approach that makes you go quick passing game. He runs a sound scheme and won’t beat himself. He trusts his athletes to be athletes which is admirable considering this is the age where every coach is trying to reinvent the wheel.

I can see us running the ball right at Bonitto for most of the game. Wear him down playing the run and he won’t be able/sure to just explode off the edges.
I will add the caveat that grinch runs a similar D to Todd Grantham at FLA and Sark jellied them with crossing routes and outside zone

I haven't been impressed with our start on offense in big games. We definitely need to script our first series better.
Grinch is a great coach I don’t see him letting Bijan carry us. This game is on Casey, I think we see fireworks. Hopefully PK can show us a little something too
