Not a watch guy myself but saw this article and thought some who post on this thread would find it interesting.

I had no idea that championship watches were a thing but at least in college they are, thanks to a former Penn lacrosse goalie.

It’s About Time: How Former Penn Goalie John Kanaras Is Making AXIA Time His Focus

This brings up a bad memory for me.  I should have received a SEC championship Tag Heuer watch from Florida after my team won a conference championship, but the assistant coach in charge didn’t add me to the form (I was the team’s athletic trainer).

The previous year they got rings, and I got that.  This was a women’s team, so the men’s version was designed for coaches instead of players so it is wearable and not a monstrosity.  That Tag would have made for a nice pairing.  I was (and still am) the opposite of gruntled.

  2. My next door neighbors (couple and two teenage kids) have always been massive Disney people.  So much so I know at least one year they bought season passes (you have to go ~28 days in a year to break even - they live in Nashville).

About a month ago, the husband (4 days older than me, TX native) died from cancer.  This week the rest of them are at Disney for their “rip the band-aid off” first trip without him.  I personally wouldn’t wish WDW in the Summer on my worst enemy, but I hope their trip is in some way magical.

    Oh, and fuck cancer.

Hahaha, i started to read the thread more after I posted and realized I probably am not welcome here. I'll observe from the sidelines for now.

Post away.  Just saying you think you feel old now…

Going to the Dr soon for the first time in 4 years, basically just to get a referral for a vasectomy. Feeling pretty good at 36, but my younger siblings are currently pissing out kidney stones and incapacitated from back pain. Hopefully I inherited all the healthy genes. That shit does not sound fun.

See you in 10-15 years.  Until then, get off our lawn.

Funny story - I was transiting through O'Hare Tuesday night and we got delayed due to traffic issues + a maintenance issue.  And we are waiting at our second gate and I overhear some guys (Surly-ites, probably) bitching about Chicago.  "First they ruined Whataburger and now this"

People Represent GIF by Disney Channel

I did not realize that Chicago played a role in the NowThis saga…

Are you referencing Four Roses in this paragraph?

Yes, 4R, not BT.  Brain fart.  Not enough brown water in the system.

  7. Different strokes for different folks.  Since BT uses two different mashbills and five different yeast strains for a total of ten different combinations, they have some variety to play with.  I searched online to try to find the breakdown, but no luck.  Small batch is a blend of several of those varieties, whereas single barrell is just one of them.  The standard issue single barrels are always the same variety, but the private label single barrels can be any one of the ten.  BT fanatics try to collect store picks of all ten for comparative (and bragging) purposes.

Bottom line - drink what you like!  If it's less expensive, then bonus!

Ole Miss/LSU also play on Texas/OU weekend.

You guys need LSU to pull off another classic early season ugly loss to make UT/OU the clear first choice.
