Your schtick of constant sunshine pumping and your ability to be so sanguine as a Texas fan is commendable. The lashing out at all of the haters is the echeese trademark sir so make sure your royalty checks are ready.
I’m sure it’s been over analyzed and honestly it really does not mean much at the end of the day. But when I saw him shove Sark in the chest because he was so excited I wondered what kind of shit he was on. Like did Johntay Cook give him some of his medicine before the game?
I have no problem with a little shit talking but it feels a little cheeky to play like the worst QB in college football for three weeks then flex after scoring a TD on a likely 1-11 football team. Some of the stuff we saw from Arch felt a little bit like overcompensating on the psychological side. He wants to flex like that after running over an OU defender? Awesome. But that flex last night felt a little gross to me.
Finally was able to watch the game this morning. I was worried at first because Robertson really struggled at center to start. Thankfully it was the mental/assignment variety as opposed to not being strong enough or having two left feet like Stroh. Robertson actually played pretty well after about midway through the first quarter. I think Hutson has to play guard just to get Stroh out of the lineup.
They will have Dallas Wilson, the true freshman WR likely when they play us and that guy is going to be a problem. That is of course if Lagway is able to throw the ball downfield.
Last week we played a garbage opponent and could not block them or throw to open receivers. It doesn’t mean you should book tickets to the playoffs yet but it was very important for the offense to play well against a bad defense. If we didn’t play well last night it would be panic time and now (hopefully) we can have more confidence going into Florida.
There were several sacks that happened after four or five seconds of him standing in the pocket. He has no internal clock, apparently. He also had multiple sacks where he decided to run up the middle thinking there was a lane that did not exist resulting in a -1/2 yard loss that counted as a sack. Of the 10 sacks at least half were 100% on Arnold making bad decisions.
For a couple hundred thousand we could have had a pretty good running back room. Instead we have seven figures of NIL dedicated to spare parts and below average players.
We did not hear one word about Stroh in the offseason and then all of the sudden right before Ohio St we hear he is the likely starter. As if Stroh secretly beat out Neto without so much as one 9.95’er mentioning that as a possibility. I doubt Stroh is somehow killing it in practice.
Listening to Inside Texas, Nahlin is doing his usual routine saying fans are dumb and emotional and do not know anything. This despite the entire episode’s premise is based on how fucking wrong he has been about the team so far.
If he analyzes the offensive line his post game write up might not be suitable for children. I watched a lot of football yesterday and I did not see a single game that featured an offensive line worse than ours. That included multiple G5 and Big 12 games.
