Certifiably Surly

  1. Today feels different. I feel this great sense of inevitability and I’m not even going to be that upset with what we all think is going to happen to our offense today.
  2. I’m prepared to medicate heavily with bourbon.
  3. You should get a trophy and place it next to your “I shit myself at the bar” award.
  4. Considering San Jose St has a significantly better line than us I would imagine we would take a player or two from UNC.
  5. As someone who has owned restaurants before, these services often come in late/early hours as it usually requires fryers to be off and usually when cleaning crews are there. Also I will put my drinking and drug use up there with the best of them and I have never even heard of someone doing what Sanchez did. This is more than just chemicals in his body. That guy has that violence in him.
  6. In spite of all signs pointing to a 5/7-7/5 type finish, I will remain irrationally optimistic up until the moment Oklahoma rapes, murders and dumps our lifeless corpse in a back alley dumpster off of Harry Hines. Until then? Show me a loss.
  7. My expectations for Arch coming into 2025 were mostly based on what we saw last year combined with everything we heard covering him this offseason. Part of this frustration is knowing we have been gaslight all offseason because I find it very hard to believe that Arch is nails in every practice but somehow cannot make normal throws in a game setting.
  8. You are mixing arguments and moving goal posts to try to defend your bizarre take that Arch is simply lacking enough experience. Arch played last year. Once against an SEC opponent, not against fucking air so get ahold of yourself. It doesn’t take 30 starts to hit a wide open receiver 10 yards in front of you. The lack of a viable alternative on our roster does not change my evaluation of Arch. I’m not advocating stating Lacey or Caldwell so stop with straw man arguments. Arch is not nearly as good as he was billed to be and that is extremely disappointing.
  9. Arch has started seven games and in his third year in the program. He’s still chucking balls 10 years over the heads of wide open guys and not seeing open TD’s. He is simply not nearly as good as we hoped. We can say that now and stop making excuses for him. And it can also be true that he was the only one battling yesterday while the rest of the offense quit before halftime.
  10. This right here is the way.
  11. If you are out here defending Arch despite all of the ample evidence that shows he is fucking lost, you shouldn’t be out insulting people. He is certainly part of the problem even if he was not the biggest problem yesterday. The offensive line is as bad as I can ever remember being a Texas fan since the mid 80’s. When you combine it with this QB and RB play it’s entering Shawn Watson Cotton Bowl territory.
  12. Has anyone ever seen a zero?
  13. He double clutched that schemed up TD and made it look harder than it was. Never mind the RPO’s that he pre determines before the snap and just rifles into the receiver regardless of the coverage. Arch has very little feel for what he is being asked to do in this offense.
  14. If Arch was the bright spot yesterday missing wide open touchdowns and big gains, then we are truly fucked.
  15. Flood’s handling of the offensive line is a fireable offense. He needs to be fired as soon as the season is over and we should aggressively attack the portal like we did at defensive tackle. Four to five players, minimum. This is the first offseason where Sark is going to need to fire an assistant. Let’s see how he handles his first real adversity running this program and if he has what it takes to make the change.
  16. Florida stopping the clock? Napier, man. Wow.
  17. Anthony Hill unexplainably running across the line an evolutionary epoch too early sums up the day.
  18. He tries hard. I’ll give him that. But so does my dishwasher. Holy fucking shit.
  19. Sark pulling a Luke Fickel and conceding the game already. Awesome.
  20. Nick Brooks is playing even worse than Connor Stroh I did not even know that was technically possible.
  21. Why on earth is Florida doing anything other than running the ball?
  22. The secondary was a paper tiger coming into this game waiting to be exposed. The offensive line is a disaster and has been since game one. There is no player at running back that can make a difference. Arch is a terrible QB. Basically we have an elite edge room and linebacker corps. That’s our entire team.
  23. Apparently having shit talent on the offensive line was going to catch up to us one day.
  24. Connor Stroh ending the half was perfectly fitting.
  25. Texas has to get a veteran QB in the portal and I really couldn’t give two fucking shits what the Manning family thinks about it.
