  1. Jesus fucking Christ some of you really make me wonder how you graduated from Texas without understanding how anything works.
  2. How is this fact lost on people? But we have people here posting Nike stock charts as evidence the Oregon NIL money is about to dry up. And they are not saying that sarcastically.
  3. Would you fucking guys stop quoting the troll?
  4. He turned down Alabama last year. I cannot imagine he would turn down Alabama to hold out for Florida. If he leaves it’s probably for the NFL.
  5. A dime a dozen is not a correct way to describe it. But really good and even elite wide receivers are in the portal every year.
  6. I’m not a coach myself but my guess is it’s not easy to stop the run with cheap platitudes. That being said, anyone fretting about losing on a high school wide receiver needs to get some perspective. Ole Miss is about to field one of the best offenses in college football built almost entirely of transfers. NC State is about to do a 180 on offense via the transfer portal. Same with Miami. I personally wouldn’t sign more than 1-2 high school recruits anyway at wide receiver. Let them develop somewhere else and just go sign the best ones every offseason.
  7. We have failed high school recruiting for three straight years at the position that has the least amount of viable options in the transfer portal. If you fuck up recruiting, fuck up QB, RB or WR. Teams can rebuild those every year if they wanted to. We just happen to fuck the dog in recruiting at the one position that is very difficult to address in the portal.
  8. So losing that guy to Ole Miss and conducting a 26 second search for his replacement is coming back to bite us?
  9. I cannot bring myself to be upset over a wide receiver. We can sign one or more of the large number of proven wide receivers in the transfer portal any offseason if we feel like it.
  10. Good lord. I’m starting to really hate Oregon.
  11. The next one of you dipshits that quote SpiderFuckBanana that should be on everyone’s ignore list is getting negged.
  12. It’s not a “narrative” that high school recruiting at DT is going poorly. It’s going poorly this year and the past two years. We haven’t signed enough players and it’s glaringly obvious. It doesn’t mean the sky is falling and we cannot recover or patch in the transfer portal but for the third year in a row recruiting at the position has not gone well. You can still remain positive about our roster management without going Orwellian about defensive tackle recruiting.
  13. He showed up at Texas and played tackle from day one, no? I thought he gained a lot of weight as a senior. I went to high school with him. He played RB and TE at Desoto. Don’t know how I forgot about him.
  14. I was trying to think of the players at Texas that did that. Whaley did that from running back (lol) and Lamar Houston grew into a tackle from end. Who else did that at Texas?
  15. That’s depressing but also encouraging in one regard because it’s nothing structural financially. It’s just our approach to recruiting and prioritization.
  16. Not to point out the obvious but this is not true for one position. And it’s not just Oregon who is taking defensive linemen from Texas. The question is this the right approach? You can argue teams are overpaying for tackles until you are blue in the face but if everyone else pays more than we do and we don’t sign any tackles, we are the ones who don’t know what the market is.
  17. So disregard all history because Georgia missed the playoffs last year? Should we ignore the fact that Georgia is the number one team in the country right now?
  18. I’m not sure I follow your train of thought. The argument that Texas has the better approach over let’s say Oregon because it will yield team first guys instead of mercenaries has not been proven anywhere yet. My Georgia example was meant to show players who care about money only who are also talented do not kill team chemistry and can still build champions. This theory of not going after guys who want to talk NIL first is just that so far. A theory. Sark could end up being totally wrong about it. Time will tell. But you speak of it like it’s been proven already to be the right approach and there is no way to know that today,
  19. I don’t necessarily disagree with you but we have seen Georgia win multiple championships with complete mercenaries on their roster. I’m not sure you make this comment without any data to back this up.
  20. If Weigman somehow stays healthy, he might be the best QB we face. I just don’t know how likely it is he stays healthy for an entire season.
  21. I’m not sure Golden or Bolden are ahead of Cook.
  22. I’m all for the good publicity but is it certain that Bond is even the WR1 this year? Ewers/Cook, Ewers/Moore, and Ewers/Bolden are also possibilities.
  23. I guess it wasn’t very clear when you literally listed the priority by position and put tackle after wide receiver.
  24. I disagree about defensive linemen being less of a priority than receiver. If there is a position that is ample in the transfer portal, it’s receiver. You can rebuild your receiver room with dudes every offseason if you had to. If it were me, I would only sign two receivers out of high school at most every cycle and money whip 1-2 proven guys every year. Productive wide receivers are always available. Why take the development risk on more than a couple every cycle?
