  1. He is recruiting like someone who doesn’t plan on being there next year. He’s signing players out of the portal sight unseen then cutting them after they get on campus. He is just trying to patch together enough serviceable talent to showcase his son and that’s about it.
  2. 37 year old Frank Harris has finally exhausted all of his eligibility and has taken up shuffleboard in Georgetown.
  3. If Colorado St and La Monroe light up our secondary, we are truly fucked.
  4. The good news is we don’t play a team that can punish our secondary until game 5 at the earliest. Hopefully that gives the young corners time to get up to speed.
  5. It’s not about violating the sanctity of college football that most of us are critical of. This is a sport where Lane Kiffin and Mike Leach found a lot of success for fucks sake. This is about pointing out shitty leadership and the giant red flags and leading indicators pointing to a football program steering off the cliff. The man has show no ability to develop talent or coach any kind of winning culture since he got there. He signs players and runs them off immediately. 73 new players this year of a fucking 85 man roster? His strategy is just sign and cut players and hope that maybe a few of them don’t suck. It’s going to blow up in his face if it hasn’t already. The fact that no one went to their spring game is another indicator his schtick might have already run its course there.
  6. Didn’t they lose 8 games in a row to end the season? They sure do talk a lot of shit for sucking.
  7. Spring was essentially a tryout for this guy?
  8. The dead cap is a sunk cost and has nothing to do with what it cost them in 2024. The question is he worth 3M or not to bring back.
  9. If WR’s are available that often for their second contract, it also supports not drafting them. Even if you assume everyone who is drafted is not a bust but simply leaves via free agency, it still supports the same conclusion. Offensive lineman are harder to find in free agency or they have a higher hit rate for the team drafting them.
  10. What does any of that have to do with the draft? My comment was about the draft grade and analyzing what we did in the draft.
  11. Interestingly enough, the historical data says you should draft OL in the first round. Those sexy WR picks?

    2024 NFL DRAFT

He is also still a front running cunt today. That and the fact that he kind of sucks is probably why he fell in the draft.
  13. The guy we took at the 29th pick, which most services had projected as a first round pick was not a reach. Our second round pick was projected to go in the second round. Our third pick was projected to go in the 2nd or 3rd round. This wasn’t a classic Jerry Jones special taking guys before their projection because he just fell in love with them. I wish we had taken a RB with our second pick in the third round and found a linebacker somewhere else through free agency or trade. That’s my biggest critique. But we all knew OL was a bigger priority so I cannot complain about the first and third pick.
  14. The Vikings depleted a lot of draft capital to take a QB who has limited game film. An act of pure desperation. But that’s “winning” the draft? If JJ is not a sure fire starter, that’s going to be one of the biggest flops in recent memory. But by all means, go ahead and call them a draft winner without even knowing if the future they just mortgaged was worth it.
  15. Draft grades in general are fucking stupid. And this hot take is stupid even for draft grades. He is penalizing Dallas for taking high upside infrastructure pieces because the head coach is trying to win now to save his job. Would it have been a good draft for the Cowboys then to act desperately and mortgage away their future to fix one or two immediate holes? By this logic the Vikings must have had an amazing draft. Well run teams don’t take WR’s and RB’s in early rounds. They take infrastructure pieces. Unless you point out where Dallas reached in taking these players, I don’t see how it’s that low of a grade.
  16. Guys like Rasheen Ali were available in the fifth round. Not sure what their plan is when you could have taken a quality back that late in the draft. Outside of not taking a RB everything else seemed fine. No big reaches and trading down to get Beebe for free was solid.
  17. No one wants Brooks, the top running back taken in the draft over LJ Johnson who might get passed up this season by his own teammate, Ruben Owens. That’s some serious Aggy logic at work.
  18. Jonathan Smith at Michigan State could soon be on the good list. He did a great job identifying and developing offensive talent at Oregon State.
  19. The hit rate on selecting players that are projected around where Dallas takes them has been pretty good. Getting Beebe for free made this a pretty good draft so far.
  20. I’ve seen some mocks that had Beebe in the first round. Certainly a projected second round player. The adults in the room are definitely running this draft for Dallas.
  21. They took a player on one of the lines that was projected at or higher than where we took him. Not sure you can complain about the pick.
  22. It’s also entirely possible some of the guys have simply been replaced by AI.

    2024 NFL DRAFT

I realize a lot of this is opinion and conjecture, but who the fuck watched film and thought JJ McCarthy is a better prospect that Penix or Nix? The Vikings took a guy I think that goes in the 3-4th round in any other draft.
  24. Dallas didn’t fuck up the draft so far. They trade back, get the guy most thought they take at 24 and get an extra third round pick. That’s about as good as it could have gone.
