The Big 10 is pushing ahead with massive private investment deal over objections from Michigan and USC
I am chortling a little because this was written by an Aggie.

I thought about that, too, but I think the SEC membership is a little more ride or die and the 100 year rivalries with the shit SWC squads are ones Iām quite happy to abandon.

The Big 10 is pushing ahead with massive private investment deal over objections from Michigan and USC
It might still be called the big 10, but itās going to be run by Greg Sankeyās nominated leader and itāll be a folded under some umbrella org. OSU was the most profitable program in the NCAA in 2024 and still lost money. I realize they like to use the same accountants as Hollywood studios, but itās clear thereās going to be a desire for the richer teams to keep more of the money they are generating.

The Democratic Party
Ezra Klein talked about this on Friday and described Newsome as an old school politician. Iām paraphrasing, but he says āthis is what people like and donāt like about Newsome. He does the things we expect politicians to do, like experiment and then pivot towards the things that are popular.ā In other words, weāre all a little deranged living in an era of Trump in which he does all of the unpopular shit and seems to mostly get away with it.

You think the SEC is going to let Michigan and OSU go to the ACC? I could also see a scenario where this results in a cross-conference divisional re-alignment, which is what all of this has been headed towards, anyway, with the top 50-60 revenue teams doing their own thing.

I donāt think thereās any question they should leave, which probably accelerates the demise of the existing conference structures. Thereās about 7 schools in their conference that have at or less than $100m in athletic department revenue and the āhavesā in the conference are all over $200m or have a patron with basically unlimited means (Oregon). Thatās a lot of dead weight for OSU and Michigan to carry and I think they are figuring out that no one gives a shit to watch Rutgers play Purdue.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
1. I think they are planning to grab some guys in the portal 2. They donāt like what they are seeing for guards among the high school players that have shown interest.

Welcome to Costco .....
CM has French GruyĆØre sold in blocks and German GruyĆØre sold pre-shredded. Iām a little down on their bakery, and their in-house restaurant is truly a shadow of itself, but the grocery part of the business is superb.

Welcome to Costco .....
I just tried making one of these with the Paris ham and fresh sourdough from Central Market and they are pretty great.

I want to be mad at Trump voters for something like this, but it's what happens when Democrats surrender the state.

Castleās top knot is regarded. Durant is having a rough game. Two lazy passes in the 4th

Fuck, impossible to defend Wemby on a fadeaway. Rockets are playing great besides some confusion on defense, San Antonio is hitting everything though.

@billfromlaketravis Sheppard is having a great shooting game but Castle is abusing him on D, I get your frustration.

If we're basing this on physical aptitude then we might as well trade for Jalen Green. I'm not saying your position is ridiculous, just that it's inconsistent. Castle needs to clean up some things, so does Sheppard. I like that Sheppard is hitting 40% of his threes on a team that needs that more than it does Castle's usage rate.

Government Shutdown 2025: This Time Itās Personal
I hope this is true, but Iāll note there was the same push for free preventative care back when the Clintonās introduced their healthcare plan in 1993, some of which was codified under the ACA, and itās confounded economists that there wasnāt more evidence of savings as a result. Not entirely surprising, but it appears the GLP-1 drugs have the same kind of use/diet pattern as other reduced calorie treatments (I.e., cessation of use results in the the patient putting weight back on). That matters from a cost of treatment perspective since itās basically a lifetime commitment for many.

Oh, He proposed to her four times already. Said he'd leave his wife and kids and convert from Catholic to Baptist.
Just an fyi to the OP, I donāt think anyone else watched your movie.

Fwiw, I still feel that way, despite early favorable returns. I also think itās inconsistent to think Castle and his 5 TO per game is desirable but going through Reedās growing pains are not.

All Encompassing Mortgage and Real Estate Thread
I had a good conversation with one of the leaders in the Austin Infill Coalition about this and there's plenty of interest on their side for building more affordable housing as long as they aren't sacrificing profit (and given this house in 78704, I think there's a good case to be made that higher value infill development is pretty risky at the moment). That said, I'm not sure how you put the genie back in the bottle otherwise. There's good scholarship that suggest home values are more a product of income and asset inflation than tight supply.

What's the opinion on Fonda San Miguel?
I realize proximity has its advantages and the space is beautiful, but traveling and eating in Oaxaca ruined Fonda for me. Itās inferior food and drinks for twice the price.

Texas GQP is spontaneously combusting
Let me add, Iām not mad at someone like Tim Dunn that wants to impose his weird, fringe beliefs on his fellows. Iām mad that the Chamber of Commerce types on the right who disagree with him have zero balls.
