  1. This-BYD isn’t making $10k EV’s because of low-cost labor and technology innovation. The CCP wants to dominate market share after watching Japan and Korea do the same successfully with consumer electronics.
  2. Why is Snoop from the wire stealing “All Gas No Breaks” from Sark?
  3. Brooks looks like a drag rat in hand me down clothes.
  4. Game of Thrones in space by the look of it…
  5. That’s my objection to him. Also, I think his type is more available in trade or free agency than less skilled/more athletic players.
  6. Got to be Chalamet. I bet Driver would vote for him, too.

Has anyone tried Bambino yet? If so, what's the verdict?
  8. Not to poo-poo on the idea because Flood might very well be Alex Gibbs or Joe Bugel level great, but citing a Ketchum level hack who is principally using years of experience at a high profile program as his metric isn’t a great way to support it. I think if anything, we’ve learned that the recruiting services are pretty bad evaluators of high school line play and that it might be true that Flood isn’t ONLY hunting 5-stars.
  9. Have you considered something like Stratfor? If I had a PhD in Asian Studies I’d also be looking at anything Federal related (State, DoD contractor). Once to get your foot in the door it should be pretty easy to shuffle around and this probably makes your resume better for a future return to academia if you hope for that.
  10. Not at all, in fact I’m sure the creators of Lost would point to the Fallout games as an inspiration for the Dharma initiative.
  11. I think there’s merit in taking a Golden Triangle Shane Dronett style sociopath in every class and maybe this one is it for ‘25. You can always get rid of them later when they get arrested or caught ripping the door off some poor girls room at Hardin House. On the other hand, Dronett NEVER took a photo like this…
  12. If you scout just the 2020 and 2021 drafts (so guys coming up on extensions and because they are NBA 2 guards all feel entitled to the max), it's a couple of dudes like LaMelo Ball that have an upgrade on Green in one area but downgrade in another (or they aren't going to be available in a Green plus 3 swap). It makes me think that the Rockets might look to upgrade elsewhere with those same chips and use Whitmore or Thompson at the two.
  13. I don’t know why we’d want to pay for the downside of VanFleet’s career. I’ve been reading draft stuff all morning and the only consensus seems to be that this is a really shitty draft.
  14. This-also, I’m not really knowledgeable about current NBA talent in general, but just looking at PER paints a somewhat dire picture for upgrading over Green. There’s definitely not a Harden who is obviously poised to bloom with more minutes. Mitchell is really the only one that looks possibly attainable and/or has a peak that appears to line up well with Sengun, et.al.
  15. Are you being facetious? It’s Big 10 and about the secondary coach. I doubt he even cares how many games they win, this is all about positional development for next year’s drafts.
  16. Wow--third pick is actually somewhat more useful than the first pick for this Rockets team. First pick and they'd feel compelled to keep it and I don't like any of the options at the top of the draft.
  17. If it helps Neris has been super lucky but is walking almost one per inning, Maton has pitched like crap, and Stanek has been okay but not 2022 good. Every time I try to armchair QB this team (“what’s Jordan Montgomery going? Oooooh…”) I see the road not taken wouldn’t have been of much help. Honestly that’s why we need a Luhnow type again. It’s the road the fan doesn’t see that we need to get on.
  18. This is continuing off topic but that episode was so well done it elevated the entire series.
  19. I always recommend starting out with Makers. I think it’s a little on the sweeter side but it’s otherwise just so squarely middle of the road. Knob Creek and BT are more interesting once you’ve developed a little bit of a palate.
  20. Let’s be honest, that was a really soft 30/20 at 26 in the PCL. Wasting 300 at bats on him last year was a canary in the coal mine that Dusty was on his own program.
  21. Back when Elarton came up Baseball Prospectus ran an article on the, at the time, discarded practice of apprenticing your top pitching prospects as relievers before moving them into the rotation. If I were GM that’s what I’d want to do with Brown. Also, @Macklemore, Kim Ng has done absolutely nothing to justify your faith that she’s Luhnow-esque. She, is however, excellent at leaking clubhouse intrigue to guys like Rosenthal and Stark, who in exchange drop her name for every GM vacancy and hint around there’s both racial and gender bias holding her back.
  22. If it was like Houston it would be four times the size and spread out. Personally I always really liked the concept but they needed to build 8+ floors of condos above the first floor retail to make it truly mixed use. Instead it’s kind of a weird, inorganic mix of commercial buildings.
  23. I don’t really think they are going to try to make a season 2 in earnest, this is more about giving themselves the best (somewhat legitimate) chance at a series Emmy. Marks and Kondo seem more interested in moving on to other things. They spent at least four years on this and had something to adapt. I doubt they are up for another four years playing in the same territory.
  24. I’m in the “take nothing for granted” camp at this point in the season. They’ve got to get a winning streak going.
