  1. With who? Everyone in media is in staff reduction mode. He's already been at ESPN and CBS, he ain't going back to OrangeBloods. I presume this means national with On3 but Nahlin would have written something like "he'll still be contributing to InsideTexas but as a national correspondent".
  2. If Nahlin wanted to write a “we’re still friends” post I don’t think it would have been that one…
  3. I was under the impression that Bobby was one of the On3 owners. Gerry seems to get restless wherever he goes.
  4. Just as a lark I went through the Dodgers roster, current payroll, and then Fangraphs prospect list. A few observations: 1. For as touted as their minor league system is by prospect writers, they don't appear to be developing replacements for departing MLB players. Most of their prospects are also older. 2. Speaking of old, what's left of their lineup is pretty ancient. 3. Signing Ohtani is unlikely to be their last move and then need several starters. Isn't that what we just heard about the Yankees?
  5. Wow, that contract is nuts! I’m actually kind of impressed that the Dodgers are willing to risk that much.
  6. Same here--I used to make my own dough in big batches with the stand mixer, freeze it, defrost and let rise minimum 3 days, etc. Now I can just buy Trader Joe's for $1.50 a dough day off and it turns out excellent or let it sit in the fridge for four or five days and it's even better. Whole Foods dough (at least in Austin) is even tastier but it's a lot harder to work with.
  7. That's another thing I like about New Orleans--there's lots of great options at different price points. Way too frequently in Austin good=expensive.
  8. Let’s be frank, there’s nowhere in Louisiana where you aren’t taking some risk with your health.
  9. I actually did a rewatch a few months back and it was better than I remembered it. I appreciated that Chao tried to do something different within the framework of the Marvel method. For me, Ant Man 3 takes the prize for worst. And it’s not terrible as a film, but it’s a bad Ant Man film and as a sequel to the first two.
  10. First off, if you’re not working toward’s a Galatoire’s Friday lunch you are missing the experience of a lifetime. No reserves, you have to get a line sitter. Also, I never see it mentioned on any top lists but I’ve always had good luck dining in the bar at the pelican club if I didn’t manage a better NYE reservation.
  11. That's because all of this is private sector. The website was set up amongst the credit bureaus (who are the ones selling your information to shit lenders) in order to force the consumer to deny permission for them to sell it. Another way of looking at it is they are doing this to avoid more intrusive regulation (like the kind that @Wulaw Horn and our own executive team is lobbying for). Regardless, they require the same information we do in order to match a person against the credit bureau's databases. No pressure, though. If you or someone else would prefer the solicitations that's your right as a consumer.
  12. Right now the pitch is he can start as a freshman on both defense and offense.
  13. Trigger leads. Most good lenders hate them because we built our business on referrals, not buying leads. You can opt out but it will take a couple of weeks for it to work. Opt Out Trigger Leads
  14. My 7 year old’s basketball team shows more effort on perimeter defense.
  15. If a Shaka Smart Texas team played this well EVER he could have retired here.
  16. I feel like getting beat by 40 should be automatic staff firing.
  17. Some of these shots from DEEP the guards are taking should get them benched.
  18. That was @Snake Diggity with his exaggerated belief in Colin Barber's future greatness 😉
  19. So this kind of approach is harkening back to the very early Baseball Prospectus days, but they used frequently maintain that you can build a perfectly fine bullpen using the first half of your season to funnel a bunch of mid level or worse relievers into six or seven who will have a good year. Reliever volatility will mean you need to find another three or four the following year but it’s cheaper than paying for more proven talent. Brown might be taking the same approach to save a few dollars for something else.
  20. Let me remind you that you were one of the loudest mockers of those of us on Team Korey Lee. Enjoy your injured and declining Graveman and Caratini overpay with your morning coffee. In all seriousness, I’d rather slightly over-pay at back-up catcher than for an outfielder. It’s like having a good back-up QB-you might think you can get away without one and then the CFB selection committee decides your whole undefeated season was meaningless.
  21. I’m going to laugh if Denver Harris ends up back at A&M in a desperation move by both parties.
  22. Where is that from? One reason I’m not more perturbed about front office departures is that a list like that should get a few people fired, even with prospect trades and draft pick forfeiture. Top prospect is a low ceiling 2nd division regular and everyone else is either a lottery ticket or low ceiling.
