  1. I’m still skeptical that want to replace Bo Davis with someone that has Rod Wright’s resume.
  2. Back to recruiting, Wells’ most recent update made it sounds like Muhammad is unlikely. We’re not going to guarantee starter level snaps and he needs that or a clear depth chart to build his film.
  3. For those of you Dark Tower fans, who is a realistic option today (I.e., 1970’s Eastwood isn’t an option) to cast as Roland in the Flanagan Amazon adaptation?
  4. That’s the TexAgs model, right? Message board with a private, subscription based section?
  5. I really don’t understand how Green can be shooting worse in year three with upgrades everywhere on the roster that should be opening up the floor for him.

I actually like Leto a lot, but no one is hiring the 52 year old lead actor from Morbius on an effects heavy (i.e., expensive) feature unless they have a very tight budget. I’ll be surprised if it gets a theatrical release, actually. Sounds like one for the fans and that’s fine. Disney had a really terrible 2023, if they are smart they should be trying to experiment some.

Sounds like they are on a budget.
  8. Are you trying to give Brown credit for contract extensions authored by Alex Anthopoulos? If anything, the fact Crane led the signing is further evidence he doesn’t trust this GM.

We had a tasting menu there a few years ago when it was receiving a bunch of “best of Austin” attention. I thought it was fine and romantic but my wife was really unimpressed and always changes the subject when I suggest we give it another shot. It’s too bad because I like how they change their menu and all the other, more sustainable elements (paying staff a living wage, using local ingredients, trying to offer good value, etc.)
  10. Between Abreu and now Hader I feel like Crane has held onto a 2019 post-season review authored by Luhnow and he’s going to follow it in absence of a GM he trusts.
  11. Let me play devil’s advocate-maybe DeBoer has done this with limited NIL resources in mind. “I can’t Saban this program because I’m not Saban.” He knows that means he’s going to lose next year but it’s a means to jumpstart the NIL donors or get state/institutional support as we presume LSU does (the whole robbing hospital thing). Plus it makes for a clean expectation break and he’s thinking this gives him more runway than otherwise (in other words, he can point to year over year improvement, which is easier starting from 4-8). Finally, he understands that 70% of this was out of his control-once the portal was open and without Saban the wolves would circle and there simply wasn’t money keeping everyone in. I’m with @closetojumping that dismantling all of the Saban machine parts is pouring gasoline on the fire and isn’t likely helpful, but that’s all behind the scenes.
  12. Aren't they down to three freelancers cranking out ChatGPT authored listicles anyway?
  13. I always say, this, too. I credit the fact that Houston gets 250 days of rain a year so drivers have to learn what precipitation looks like. Austin drivers seem surprised. “What’s this?!? Oh shit, the roads are slick!”
  14. I actually remember this one a little from before he committed to Bama-he appeared pro-Texas before Arch’s commitment and the threat of sitting behind him for a couple of years appeared likely. I don’t see what might be different now, in fact it’s probably worse with Ewers coming back.
  15. My read on this is that DeBoer was also eager to get rid of the parents.
  16. I think it’s clear that the SEC blue bloods will now presume every Texas commitment or transfer is purely about the payday.
  17. I like how this thread keeps trying to stay on track and then there’s someone bringing up Lamborghini ownership costs again every 10 posts, like moving on would represent some kind of character defect. Also “Lambo” is just as bad as “Natty”.
  18. Sounds more like Harris and Glasscock are two of his best sources in the program.
  19. Kudos, terrifically appropriate thread title!
  20. If true, seems a little underwhelming when the $9.95 reports have been "a hire on the level of a Bo Davis".
  21. They are overlooking the obvious best available candidate.

    The Boys

Banshee is such a rich premise and setting and they did a great job of building up the cast beyond the lead. My only criticism is they had Odette Annable as some kind of Indian ninja and she was gone too soon.
  23. You might know more on this particular circumstance than I do, but I’m more presuming that Arch has far better endorsement potential from corporate sources than probably anyone in college football. If that frees up the guys donating to the Trey Moore fund then it’s an advantageous use of resources.
  24. This is super speculative, but I wonder if our NIL donors (the few doing most of the heavy lifting) are being asked to commit extra this off-season with the understanding that Arch won’t need individual contributors backing him and that’ll mean less requested from them next year (in other words “help us this year and we won’t need so much next.”) Not that this should be a big worry, but I agree that the guys like Cook are poised to be the biggest casualty-the portal transfers push his NIL optimization back a season unless he can beat them out.
  25. I think he’s playable as an outfielder if he can hit (which he can’t), but he’s not going to be a defensive replacement candidate on this team, even with his rocket for an arm.
