  1. 1st & 10: Screen pass to Worthy blown up because Mitchell didn’t come to UT to block. (implosion imminent) 2nd & 12: Sanders to the flat. Well covered so Ewers tucks it for 5 yards. (3…2…1…) 3rd & 7: Ewers throws dig route complete to Mitchell for 10 yards and a first down. (we are the greatest team of all time) 5 plays later we punt and we start looking for our new OC during the commercial break and wondering just how many TDs Arch would have gotten us on that first drive and how big of a deficit he could lead us back from in the 4th.
  2. yeah but don’t you know every team we’ve played this year has run a completely new defense that they haven’t shown on film. Every week it’s something new that they managed to install over the week. One team went straight punt block for the first quarter.
  3. The beauty of this team this year is there are 4 legitimate threats to get the ball, but 4th & 10 with the game on the line I'm going Mitchell then Sanders because of their ability to catch ball with guys all over them.
  4. Agree. When one QB is completing 137% of his passes I don't see how his team wouldn't be favored.
  5. Yeah, MSU being complete dogshit is probably not a great example, but I get where you're coming from. Going to Tuscaloosa all anyone could talk about was how Bama was going to run it down our throats because of their dominant OL & our unproven DL. They barely broke 100 yards as a team. KSU averages 200 yards rushing per game and had 30 vs us and they had to completely abandon it. Same thing with OSU. It'll be one of the things to watch, but y'all don't HAVE to run it to beat us. KSU almost beat us with 30 yards rushing (of course Ewers wasn't playing & we gave them 3 short fields). OSU had plenty of success through the air and could have had a lot more. If we're stopping your running game with minimal issues then I don't think it changes just a whole lot. UW is well in the 100's in terms of how often y'all rush, though you do have decent success when you do run. So if we stop it, not a big deal for y'all & par for the course for us. If y'all are running the ball well enough for us to have to commit extra bodies to stop it then that's the recipe for a shootout or a beatdown depending on how accurate Ewers is.
  6. The 42 yard run in the first quarter skews an otherwise decent, but not great, running attack. Popping 1 or 2 runs isn't going to change anything just like hitting 1 or 2 passes won't change anything. If y'all have consistent success running the ball & force us to commit safeties to help stop the run then we're in trouble. Our best hope defensively is stopping your running game with our DL getting penetration and clogging up the holes & playing our best game of the year in the secondary. We've done the former fairly consistently this season against a lot of different types of offenses and RBs. We haven't done the latter very well at all & have been greatly aided by QBs not making very good passes. Sometimes our rush helps force the issue, but I don't think Penix is going to be missing open WRs very often.
  7. Well, hopefully the Todd Orlando Safety blitz from BFE is out of the playbook
  8. Change the names & I feel like this last paragraph describes UT this season as well. Looked like world beaters vs. Bama, went through some injuries for a few weeks & won ugly with a backup QB or limited starter, then looked right vs OSU. I expect a really good game, I think we'll win barring a rash of turnovers like we had vs. OU, & I really don't want Penix to have the ball with a chance to win on the last drive because I think he'll find a way to break our hearts if given the chance.
  9. They didn't learn shit from Jimbo. If you let your wife look around, she's going to fuck other guys.
  10. Is Jimbo standing on a step ladder or is Stroh only 5'9" or so?
  11. That's not a thing anymore & hasn't been since a&m paid signed the greatest class ever. They're too busy counting trophies wins buyouts to be bothered with silly recruit rankings.
  12. Just watch the first half of Hamilton, it explains everything.
  13. Between he & Princely they're paying 6 figures for 6 good snaps a game. It's certainly a strategy, I'm glad it's not our strategy.
  14. Thrown? WTF? I've seen a lot of people confuse a lot of different words, but thrown for throne is a new one for me.
  15. Yeah, but did he take a giant shit & clog their toilet?
  16. I swear, digging up the most excruciating moments in UT history is this boards version of Godwin's Law. Give a thread enough time & you'll be subjected to Longhorn torture. Maybe we can name it Surly's Law.
  17. Pictures aren't loading for me, maybe try again.
  18. Who left the garage open and let this fucktard back in? Hey dumbass, no one cares what Sark did 10 years ago in a completely different region during a completely different era of college football. We all argued back and forth about his time at UW when he was hired here, but after being here for 3 years all that matters to us is what he's done/is doing here.
  19. Someone get the thesaurus away from Brauny. No way his audience understands that third paragraph
  20. congrats on writing an Ian Boyd amount of words about Ian Boyd and his idiotic takes.
  21. If they manage to pull him and Nolen their DL could be good for like 10-12 snaps a game
  22. hook me

    2023 Heisman

Damn, FSU just can't crack any top 4 can they?
  23. Oh man the spin on these hires is going to be gold. "No, we didn't get the flashy big names & we didn't want them. Don't listen to the naysayers in Austin, a&m never really wanted the big names (Lanning, Deboer, Dabo). Sure we called them just for due diligence & if we wanted them we would have had them. If a&m offers Sark $10mm a year he wouldn't even finish the playoffs, he'd be on the next greyhound here if needed. But we didn't want them. We wanted the right guy. That's Elko. Same for Klein. Elko was given a blank check & he went and got exactly who he wanted. Big name? No. Big results? You bet. Look at the points he put up at KSU. KSU!! He just turned down PSU. PSU couldn't pull Klein but a&m pulled him away just by giving him a little wink because he knows what kind of opportunity this is. Just imagine what he's going to be able to do with all the talent right in a&m's back yard. Elko isn't going after the splashy hires, he's going after the guys that have a chip on their shoulder, ready to prove to the world that they belong at a top 5 job. That's what a&m is. Top 5. Ask anyone & the only people who will argue with you are the ones in Austin or the ones who are just jealous. a&m is a top 5 job any way you look at it. Facilities? Top 5. Fan Base? Top 5 - obviously the best imo. Commitment? Top 5. We just need the wins to match it & Elko has the right guys to get us there. I couldn't be more excited."
