  1. A 45 yard throw that looked un-athletic as hell for someone that's supposed to be an amazing athlete.
  2. That Michigan schedule is just an absolute joke. That OOC slate is an embarrassment.
  3. For those thinking they will try to get him fired for cause, a&m fans went on and on about how they had all the dirt on Sumlin & could easily fire him for cause without causing too much blowback on the program. They either didn't have the dirt, or decided it was in their best interest to not pursue that path. The guy that they deified from the beginning & have been propping up as the savior of a&m isn't going to get treated worse than Sumlin. Also, they owed Sumlin 10 million not 20+ million when he was fired so they didn't negotiate it down. They may have negotiated the 60 day money guarantee part, but Sumlin got his money. What's really funny is they guaranteed Sumlin's contract as well so when he was hired by AZ his buyout wasn't impacted by what AZ was paying him. a&m really knows how to screw up a contract negotiation don't they?
  4. They entered the game averaging 4.5 penalties for 41 yards a game. UT entered the game averaging 5.3/41.3 per game. That's a 13 penalty 119 yard difference (not counting yards that were taken back because of penalties) in relation to the season averages. Even accounting for our extra sloppy OL & DL play you're looking at a 9 or 10 penalty 100-105 yard difference from the combined season average.
  5. I don't know why this is so hard to understand at the college level. Even with how good your kicker has been, 48 yards with a crosswind is not a gimme by any means, especially for college kickers - he missed a 48 yard FG at the end of the half. If he makes it you gave up 3 points on a bad TO deep in your own territory which isn't a bad result & if he misses it you get the ball back at the 38. If you accept the penalty a LOT of things can go wrong. Penalty, busted play, normal UT 3rd & long defense that gives up the first down, 15-20 yard gain that makes for an easier FG or gives Gundy a reason to go for it on 4th - all worse than the 48 yard attempt. Even if you hold & stop them & force a punt there's a chance you get pinned inside your own 10 or, at best, you get the ball at the 20 with a touchback. I get there are arguments against it, but I personally thought it was the right decision. Tip of the hat to the FG kicker for making it & we started the next possession at the 30.
  6. zone read & designed QB runs are not a part of the offense so that's a non-starter in the middle of the game. Short passes to the TE, WR screens that worked earlier in the game, TE/RB screens that were open vs a very aggressive pass rush. Any of those would have been a nice change of pace in the second half but it's not on Ewers to call the offense is it? We did nothing to slow down their pass rush in the second half & make their DL think twice, that's a play calling flaw. People say QBs with big arms trust their arms too much & it makes them make bad decisions. I think Ewers arm talent did that for Sark on Saturday. Sark knows he can make all the throws & throw them with anticipation, so instead of reining the offense in & getting the ball to our guys in space in the second half like he did with Bijan, Thompson, Whittington, & Worthy in the first half, he was content with running plays that required protection that we couldn't provide & required the accuracy that Quinn didn't have in the second half.
  7. 48 yards with a crosswind vs our 3rd down defense & the chance of getting a penalty? I'm good with the decision but to each their own. He missed one from inside 50 in the second quarter.

For your viewing pleasure (rage). All plays from the UT/OSU game w/o commercials & BS. Questionable calls against UT; worst first: 4Q Holding negating 60ish yard run: 56:35 - whoever said it's a penalty in every conference is full of shit. That's a pancake. 3Q PI call on Jamison: 37:38 (legit though that's a terrible call. If that's PI then so is grabbing Worthy's arm @ 13:48 as well as grabbing Bijan out of the backfield at 43:38. I don't think any of them are worthy of a flag. The lesson, as has been the case forever, our receivers need to learn how to sell PI like the OSU WR does at 30:16) 2Q PI call on Barron: 25:12 Hard to tell by the angle but it doesn't look like the WR is making that play. Dumb push so I wouldn't argue this one too much, but the kicker is the ref looking right at it doesn't even look fazed. The flag comes from the back judge 20 yards away and 4 seconds later. All is well though as it ends with an INT. 2 of the 3 are bad calls for sure. I don't remember any others that were as bad as those.
  9. OSU averaged 4.5/41 for penalties UT averaged 5.3/41 going into the game. Holy shit what a difference. It completely explains 14/119 - 0/0. The OL & DL being sloppy doesn't excuse terrible PI & holding calls. I don't fault the coaches for taking their chances on a 48 yard FG instead of giving them another chance for a 1st down. Based on our 3rd down defense & the fact that couldn't breathe without committing a penalty I'd personally agree with taking a chance on a 48 yard FG w/ 20 MPH crosswinds. What a dumbass post. We decline 1 penalty on the 7th play of the game & then another one was offsetting so there's nothing to bitch about? We had 2 completely bogus PI calls & one bogus holding call in the 4th quarter that negated 50+ yards. But those are just the ones called against us, they don't take into account the ones NOT called on OSU especially if they're going to call it that picky on us. If that's PI on us then the grabbing of Worthy's hand in the 1st quarter is PI & the grabbing of Bijan out of his break in the 3rd quarter is definitely PI. I won't even bother with the holding calls since it's pretty much assumed that there's holding on every play, but apparently not on any of y'alls plays Saturday As for the judgement calls, it looked like it hit his leg in full speed but not quite so much on replay. There wasn't a definitive angle so it stood. The non-catch was the correct call & confirmed by replay angles. Your post is wrong on on almost every point other than we jumped offsides too many times. Go back & regroup & try to be better next time.
  10. DJ has been a disappointment since he took over. That's 3 seasons of disappointment vs. a bad 3rd quarter. Also, we've seen plenty from Card to know what we have in him unlike Clemson with Klubnik. OC was Locksley that year. Sark showed up in 2019 What the hell is all of this pining for Card all of the sudden? Ewers wasn't great but holy shit neither were his WRs, OL, or OC. the running game was humming along nicely until we stopped trying it once OSU figured out the counter for a few drives and that's about it. Quin still made plenty of nice throws that could have been caught but weren't when his OL actually gave him decent protection. 30 yard sideline route from the opposite hash was right on the money. Card couldn't make that throw without the defense. Deep ball to Worthy that lands a yard in front of him that he didn't even try for, another deep shot to worthy that BR missed a blitz pickup & Ewers got crushed is probably a sack with Card but Ewers missed Worthy by 2 steps, & another shot to Worthy that was an easy TD if Worthy doesn't forget how to run & falls down. Are we still in "I'm going to flame away based on TV commentary & initial feelings while mostly drunk" mode or have we at least attempted to watch it again & realize that there are 10 other guys with jobs to do on every play & they all looked lost for the most part. This was easily Quinns worst start of his 5 but he's far from the only one to blame. Pulling him there ignores the issues we had across the OL, WRs, & OC & creates controversy where there doesn't need to be any. Pulling a starting QB isn't like pulling a starting pitcher that has a bad 3 innings or a PG that has a bad shooting half. It's full blown QB controversy into the bye week if you pull Ewers there & for what? CARD? Hard pass.
  11. Did we get the flag for the blatant hold on Overshown on this play or was that missed?
  12. We're 7-2 in Stillwater since 2000. One loss by 3 & the other by the worst coach in the history of Texas football. They're banged up, we're coming off an ugly win & hopefully ready to prove ourselves. Lucky for them it's homecoming so they'll have something to celebrate tonight, because they won't be celebrating a win.
  13. Maybe it's just optimism, which I'm not used to so forgive me, but it feels like ESPN is going to pay a little (lotta) bit extra in order to get UT/OU out after next season. They'll probably add a nice clause (pro rata or close to it) for new members added in the MT or PT so that the Big 12 doesn't take a hit for adding the 4-corner schools & it gives ESPN late night content w/o the PAC. The Big 12 can offer them proximity, competitiveness, security, & most importantly $$$$ that the PAC can no longer offer. They'll open recruiting to new areas (TX, FL, OH) & exposure across the country instead of just their area. It really makes a lot of sense & if 1 of the corner schools don't jump at the opportunity the Big 12 should immediately move to SDST & offer a reduced payment that SDST would absolutely jump on. Start the contract at the end of the 2023 Spring schedule which would nullify the current contract, letting UT/OU walk w/o penalty & immediately increasing the payout for all 12/16 teams starting with the 2024 season. The PAC then dissolves into nothing with USC, UCLA, 3 or 4 of the corner schools & maybe UW & UO all leaving. Then, all eyes are on 2034 when the SEC TV contract is up & the ACC expires a few years after (if those schools make it that long, which I seriously doubt).
  14. The 3-6-6 works well & has a few variations. The 1-7-7 would almost have to be a non-starter since ESPN will require 9 conference games if they're going to get anywhere close to the B1G TV deal when they renegotiate with UT/OU having joined. My list of permanent opponents is probably more skewed to recent rivalries that I enjoy watching but it does keep the biggest games on the books which is what you want for TV $$$ purposes. The biggest one I go back & forth on is the LSU/a&m game. Obviously this is the one game a&m will moan and groan about but if you give them OU & take the Ole miss game & give it to LSU that would restore one of the longer ones while simultaneously pissing a&m off. Ultimately, I think that game stays (they do have 60 meetings so it has some history) & OU/Ole Miss becomes a forced rivalry. Bama: Auburn, Tenn, LSU Arky: UT, a&m, Mizzou Auburn: Bama, UGA, MSU. UF: UGA, LSU, KU UGA: UF, Auburn, SC KU: Tenn, UF, MSU LSU: Bama, a&m, UF MSU: Ole Miss, Auburn, KU Mizzou: OU, Arky, SC Ole Miss: MSU, Vandy, OU OU: UT, Mizzou, Ole Miss SC: UGA, Vandy, Mizzou Tenn: UK, Bama, UF UT: OU, Arky, a&m a&m: UT, Arky, LSU Vandy: Tenn, SC, Ole Miss UT 2024: CSU, Michigan, UTSA, @UGA, Mizzou, @OU (dallas), BYE, @LSU, @Arky, MSU, @Vandy, @Auburn, a&m UT 2025: @OSU, San Jose St., UTEP, UF, @Ole Miss, arky, OU (dallas), BYE, Bama, @SC, UK, @Tennessee, @a&m UT 2026: TXST, OSU, UTSA, UGA, @Mizzou, @OU (dallas), BYE, LSU, @arky, Vandy, @MSU, Auburn, a&m (look at that home slate) UT 2027: Rice, @Michigan, UTEP, @UF, Ole Miss, arky, OU (dallas), BYE, @Bama, SC, @UK, Tennessee, @a&m As much as I just love welcoming & visiting TTU, ISU, KU, BU, TCU, OSU, WVU, & KSU I think maybe... just maybe... UGA, UF, LSU, Bama, Tenn, Ole Miss, Auburn, arky, & a&m will make up for those losses.
  15. that's how it's done. I have the weather app for actual weather.
  16. .... where's the hot weather girl to distract me from whatever those colors are supposed to be?
  17. No way they get the money they want from ESPN with only 8 conference games. If the SEC wants to stay in line with the money the B1G will be making from CBS/FOX/NBC they will be scheduling 9 or 10. Hopefully 9 as it allows for more marquee OOC games & it makes much more scheduling sense.
  18. This is the correct take. If any other fanbase thinks we gave a crap about them then that's a them problem & means our university must have gone above & beyond in terms of making them feel welcomed & wanted. You're welcome for the free ride, we brought you as far as we wanted & now it's time to get off our back & find someone else to give you a ride. Nothing against anyone personally affiliated with any of the schools, I have nothing against midwestern people as the few that I've met have been really nice & one of them was fairly attractive.
  19. It's played on the second Saturday of October. Saturdays in September don't count as a Saturday in October.
  20. I have to agree with OSU fans, at least on the plays in question in the 1st half. TCU subbed way too late & defensive staffs are more prepared to take advantage of that now. If you try to sub with <20 seconds left in the play clock you're taking a chance. I'm not a huge fan of guys barely jogging off the field in order to try and draw a penalty, you don't get the entire time to walk off the field just because the offense substituted, & that's probably Dykes argument & it paid off with the refs being a little more strict on in as the game went on. Hard to see exactly when the substitution happened on the play in the 4th quarter but from what you can see on the game broadcast it looked like the right call to let them snap it.
