  1. UT: 54 TCU: 41 833 passing yards
  2. I'm not looking forward to making Max Duggan look like the second coming of Taysom Hill... again.
  3. Oh man I can't wait to read the King vs. Weigman drama. It's going to be glorious seeing them talk themselves into King again
  4. The idea that you think a&m players flocked to a&m last year because they gave Jimbo 10 years & $100mm is laughably idiotic. If that were the case they wouldn't be looking at an exodus the likes of which hasn't been seen since, well, Exodus, & they wouldn't be getting their heads bashed in on the trail this year. Oh, and by the way, how's that going for them now? You want a piece of that sweet $86mm buyout they're trying to figure out a way out of now? Great example. Giving a mediocre coach more years than he deserves is a great way to be mediocre, and just to be clear I'm not ready to move on from Sark like many are. There are plenty of red flags to justify their position, but I'm all for giving coaches 3 years - especially when the offensive scheme & recruiting philosophy is as different as it is between Herman & Sark. That said, if he's still collapsing in the second half vs the likes of TTU, ISU, OSU, & UH next year I don't want to see what's going to happen to him vs. Bama, LSU, & UGA in the SEC.
  5. Yeah, the statement was "someone with choices", meaning someone actively looking for a new job or, at least, honestly open to listening to an offer. Maybe the problem isn't we're overestimating how attractive our job is, but how much more attractive it'd have to be in relation to other jobs to make someone like Smart, Day, or Swinney move. Obviously that isn't happening, & that wasn't the argument presented in the first place. I always assume those names are thrown out in jest, but I'm sure there are people who honestly believe we could get them to come here. I'm not among that group, but am firmly in the group of UT being a top of the top job when available & only getting better with facilities & NIL. Herman had choices, namely LSU, & he came here instead & that was before we had facilities that brought us into this century or NIL. Sark had choices, not the least of which was taking over the machine if/when Satan ever retires or dies, & he came here even before NIL. Beard had choices & he came here even though he built a top 15-20 program & TTU would have built him a statue. Every school fires coaches when they don't perform up to their standards. TTU fired Wells in the middle of year 3 with a 5-3 record. Auburn just fired Harsin in year 2 after trying to run him out of town after year 1. UF ran off Mullen after going 29-9 in 3 years with an SEC CCG appearance AFTER running off McElwain in the middle of his 3rd season after his 1st 2 seasons ended in the CCG. Schools fire coaches within 3-4 years all.the.time. It's not a UT problem, it's SOP around college football. It's not a ding against us anymore than it is against any of the other schools that do it.
  6. This used to be a dumb comment, but in a world with NIL this is a completely idiotic comment. You answered your own question - not once, not twice, but three times & forgot a new reason that goes right at the top.
  7. I feel like aggy players desperate enough to get out of CS should give other schools a deal. Buy 2 get the 3rd 1/2 off. Something like that to ensure they're able to find a good new home before they expire.
  8. If I remember correctly UT & OU abstained from voting on expansion. “Today’s actions were in accordance with Big 12 Conference Bylaw 1.5.2.b.3 requiring an affirmative vote of a supermajority of directors and was approved unanimously by the eight continuing members," the Big 12 said in a statement.
  9. We have 0 leverage with the Big 12 so them finding ways to screw us/piss us off is to be expected. Considering they already had the 2021 schedule set when the move leaked & there's not much of a chance for change in the 2022 season we haven't really felt the brunt of it. That all changes next year & the next if we don't get out. I fully expect Thursday night games & road games to pretty much every city w/ bye weeks as inconvenient as possible. It'll be Shawshank style where we crawl through 2 years worth of shit before we make it to the beautiful SEC-land & the mounds of money waiting for us. The analogy would be even better if we could leave in 2024 but OU couldn't & they could be Red finding the note after they get out of prison - "SEC-land" - they'll say with a knowing smile as they load up their covered wagon. They show up to SEC-land barefoot (because they're OU & probably sold their shoes for meth along the way) & find us on the beach.
  10. I believe they prefer to be called "woman" or "female" nowadays.
  11. This would be an incredibly interesting move & very forward thinking. I couldn't imagine the number of personal foul penalties they incur. Wonder if ESPN can get Rogan to be their color commentary.
  12. Auburn job opened up so, if he's there, I'm sure it's a negotiation - for an extension & more money. That's the aggy way.
  13. It'd give Sark a chance to improve his away record.
  14. UT: 36 KSU: 24 Prop: 48 plays - long of 34
  15. All the way to 2036 - or, at least, until the B1G (2030) & SEC (2034) contracts are up for renegotiation. Even then, if UT wasn't willing to pay the fees to leave a year or 2 early, I don't see any of the ACC schools jumping ship very early either. It's weird to think, but if the B1G agrees to a 6 year agreement in 2030 then they could have renegotiated their TV contract 4 times (2017, 2023, 2030, 2036ish?) before the ACC gets back to market. The B1G will be more than doubling the ACC yearly TV distribution during that time, we'll see what ESPN will pay the SEC with the addition of UT/OU & likely an extra conference game but it should get close to, if not pass, the $60mm/year mark to keep it close to the B1G before getting to take its entire media package to market in 2034, the Big 12 will be at 32ish/year until it renegotiates in 2031 (which is still 1/2 of the B1G), & the ACC will still be sitting there while the B1G TV contract ALONE will nearly double what it distributed this year. By that time, how much money is going to be left over for the ACC? Unless the Amazon/Apples of the world decide to really get into college sports streaming I don't see how the ACC manages to catch up with the B1G & SEC which means it's just a matter of time before the big boys of that conference get sick of being lapped by regional rivals & look for greener pastures.
  16. A 45 yard throw that looked un-athletic as hell for someone that's supposed to be an amazing athlete.
  17. That Michigan schedule is just an absolute joke. That OOC slate is an embarrassment.
  18. For those thinking they will try to get him fired for cause, a&m fans went on and on about how they had all the dirt on Sumlin & could easily fire him for cause without causing too much blowback on the program. They either didn't have the dirt, or decided it was in their best interest to not pursue that path. The guy that they deified from the beginning & have been propping up as the savior of a&m isn't going to get treated worse than Sumlin. Also, they owed Sumlin 10 million not 20+ million when he was fired so they didn't negotiate it down. They may have negotiated the 60 day money guarantee part, but Sumlin got his money. What's really funny is they guaranteed Sumlin's contract as well so when he was hired by AZ his buyout wasn't impacted by what AZ was paying him. a&m really knows how to screw up a contract negotiation don't they?
  19. They entered the game averaging 4.5 penalties for 41 yards a game. UT entered the game averaging 5.3/41.3 per game. That's a 13 penalty 119 yard difference (not counting yards that were taken back because of penalties) in relation to the season averages. Even accounting for our extra sloppy OL & DL play you're looking at a 9 or 10 penalty 100-105 yard difference from the combined season average.
  20. I don't know why this is so hard to understand at the college level. Even with how good your kicker has been, 48 yards with a crosswind is not a gimme by any means, especially for college kickers - he missed a 48 yard FG at the end of the half. If he makes it you gave up 3 points on a bad TO deep in your own territory which isn't a bad result & if he misses it you get the ball back at the 38. If you accept the penalty a LOT of things can go wrong. Penalty, busted play, normal UT 3rd & long defense that gives up the first down, 15-20 yard gain that makes for an easier FG or gives Gundy a reason to go for it on 4th - all worse than the 48 yard attempt. Even if you hold & stop them & force a punt there's a chance you get pinned inside your own 10 or, at best, you get the ball at the 20 with a touchback. I get there are arguments against it, but I personally thought it was the right decision. Tip of the hat to the FG kicker for making it & we started the next possession at the 30.
