  1. Agree. Back in my Navy flying days a Navy Tower controller tried to kill me. Turn over was occurring in the Tower and they lost SA. Luckily I hadn’t lost SA.
  2. The controller should have probably said “hey do you have that traffic at your 10 o’clock high on sight”
  3. This. There is a new plan in place to train more controllers via the FAA enhanced CTI program where schools like ERAU and Oklahoma will train new controllers. They all employ retired or former FAA controllers to teach this program and they use a multitude of training and simulation software.
  4. What people seem to be missing is that the training appears to be keeping current at night and flying the routes that their VIP transport missions require. It wasn’t like hey let’s just go fly by DCA for fun.
  5. It would take some amazing timing for that to occur. It wasn’t like the Helo was orbiting in the area working to time an intercept. I didn’t look at details but it appears the Helo was keeping the same forward speed on the flight tracking apps. ATC could try and do that. Military weapons systems have software to help controllers guide pilots to intercept other aircraft. The FAA doesn’t.
  6. His press conference this morning is a text book example of a shitty leadership.
  7. There was a lot of vision. LOL. So fucking embarrassing.
  8. Well Trump just said DEI is the issue. Amazing.
  9. This press conference.
  10. I don’t know why I am surprised based on the current dumb ass world we live in but I still can’t get over how many people think this was an intentional act by the Helo crew.
  11. I am going to think you are an absolute fucking idiot who is a waste of oxygen.
  12. From one picture I saw it looks like the right wind was ripped off during the collision
  13. I wonder if the Helo crew thought Tower was talking about the plane taking off?
  14. Side note. I flew a T-34 into Davison AAF back in 1997 when in flight school.
  15. So sorry. My condolences
  16. They are going to do them for all 4 years to keep the anger going.
  17. This. Leadership experience is also highly valued. They want well rounded individuals.
  18. It’s always “they”.
  19. There are lots of them especially in wildland firefighting. They bid on fires and then go do the job. They still have to have certifications. There are also private fire departments depending on where you live. In some states in unincorporated areas people pay subscriptions for fire department services.
