First off, congratulations on all of you that have quit drinking, smoking, got off meds, got on meds or whatever that has helped you get better. I salute each and everyone of you. Keep up the good work.
As for me......well, I'm headed the other way. Never really drank much my entire life. But the last few months, me and Don Julio have become very good friends. I'm taking up the slack for those of you who have quit. For the last 2+ years, I've ate everything in sight and never darken the door of a gym. Don't intend to either. Checked my weight the other day for shits and giggles and I'm a svelt 275 lbs........ at 5' 9"... yeah I look sexy........not.
For those boys and girls who have just joined in, I've been tagged with depression on and off for 15+ years, PTSD for about 3.5 years, gone through two floods in 2 years, so I've effectively lost everything I've worked for over my adult life. Now, looks like I'm at the very least going to be legally separated from my wife of 14 years (as of 1 May). Host of other shit I wont go into. So, here I find myself, staring 62 right down the road, damn near broke, living in a tiny, POS trailer, burnt out on fighting all the shit that has been beating on me since I was a kid, and especially since I retired from the air force 10 years ago. I don't have much fight left. Time to sit on the porch, a Margarita in one hand, and give the world the finger with the other.
For those of you that are on the right track back, stay with it. Don't be like me. Cheers.
