  1. I love the camera angles too! It's like a news network filming a protest for the lead story, but there are only 30 people there and so the camera looks up and down on the center group but never pans out. We can see the nose hairs and then the bald spots of the guys in the center but not much else of the 16K reinforcements.
  2. Answer this question, without directly answering this question. ..."Vic came!"
  3. Does anyone have a link/info about the amount of tanks/trucks/vehicles that Russia had staged prior to the invasion? The Oryx link is reporting 1,091 confirmed lost/destroyed vehicles of some kind for Russia (and it is likely higher). I am curious what percentage of pre-staged equipment that represents? On the upside for Russia, they need to supply a lot less Diesel/gas now.
  4. But Putin could blame "Ukrainian terrorists" and use it as a pretext for his own use of battlefield nukes or Chemical weapons. 'They used "Nuclear attacks" on us first comrade countrymen, we really had no choice!'
  5. Tell me you want to show off your cool record collection to your squad mates, without telling me you want to show off your cool record collection to your squad mates.
  6. As they say, 2,725 Rubles is 2,725 Rubles.
  7. Almost more than KIA is what are the number of injured? Is it 3X, 5X, 10X the KIA's? If we say 6K KIA and conservatively 3X injured, that is 24K of the 200K force that is OOO. I think it is likely that the KIA numbers and thee injured factors are higher.
  8. My guess: China to supply humanitarian aid to the suffering people in Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk. Food, Fuel etc. Great humanitarians.
  9. I would assume they do. How much Diesel reserves do they have to run backup generators? 1 week, 2 weeks???? Additionally, what if the Russians "appropriated" part of the Diesel gas for their tanks and vehicles, then how long can they run the backup generators? Russia can't supply their own army with Diesel fuel, I can't imagine they are sending extra to the Nuclear Plant...even if it makes sense to do so.
  10. After the great Burnt Ends successful football “adoption”, maybe Surly should adopt Russia if we care about Ukraine?
  11. The Ukrainians have been firing them for him.
  12. Unlike the actual Budapest Memorandums on Security Assurances from 1994 signed by Russia “guaranteeing” Ukraine’s sovereignty.
  13. I think part of this issue they are trying to manage is deniability of giving “Polish” airplanes that fly from Poland into Ukraine. It is subtle, but something they want to be able to deny to Russia and the world. Now maybe they sell MiG-29’s to the US in a good deal for Poland (more value from F-16’s etc), and then the planes are delivered to a neutral country such as Switzerland where the US “sells” them to Ukraine. Then the now Ukraine aircraft fly to Ukraine from a neutral location. So no Polish or NATO country planes fly into Ukraine and no Ukrainian planes are allowed to fly from Polish or NATO air bases into Ukraine.
  14. Much like the salad bar at a Brazilian steak house, stir fry at Asian Buffet is for suckers!
  15. This is a fantastic point. If I move a military column of 100 vehicles and 1000 men through an area, but I leave it and don’t leave sufficient forces behind to hold and secure it, I have not taken and held that region. I have just driven through it. To capture it requires a reasonably large occupying force, and a population mostly willing to be occupied. The Russian forces, while large, are not nearly large enough to accomplish this and as we have seen, the Ukrainian’s are NOT willing to be occupied.
  16. Agree. This thread is more important than people who can't control themselves. Warn the posters, then nuke them, but not the thread.
  17. Is this a swap/exchange deal? Asking for a friend.
  18. Every Halloween the trees will be filled with underwear. Every spring, the toilets will explode.
  19. We're not. We are sowing discord and diluting the effectiveness of the FSB. The fact that this made the news was on purpose and should indicate that it is likely not accurate...but Putin/Russia seeing it does have benefits.
  20. So Putin and the Kremlin did a poll. He has 90% approval rating out of his entire general staff. Wait, it's now 100% approval! *Note: Job posting for Kremlin general staff just posted on indeedUR.com
  21. They’re called women, you insensitive bastard!
  22. Ukraine has open and functioning air bases still up and running. Mainly in the Western part of the country. Not sure how many pilots they have.
