  1. I find this extremely difficult to disagree with. But I'll probably go anyway.
  2. I... I just can't even... Now, I'm a bit far from Texas (although I do know a couple of aggy even up here). But every time I try to explain this thread/A&M to someone I just get this look like "that can't really be." But they actually write this shit themselves, like it's normal. "Hey! The pumpkin head thing we do is funny - but what if'n we tried to whomp it off his head with some ax handles?" I don't know whether to laugh or what. Okay, yeah I do. I laugh. Then I think hell, it could be worse. They could have used actual axes.
  3. I like purple teams. Well, a purple team. And Texas would rotohammer our skulls.
  4. Meh, I root for almost assuredly the worst 6-2 team in the country (they'll probably only win one more), so getting only 1 AP vote seems about right to me.
  5. Well, it's just another Russian oblast, so yeah. And still no washing machines. Pretty good dryers, though.
  6. Go Bruins. This should go without saying.
  7. Congrats, SB. Your guys punched us in the mouth tonight. Hope it's not our last conference game in the Rose Bowl. Good luck the rest of the way.
  8. Heh... you made me think for a bit - but the only ones I can recall are Mark Brunell and Brock Huard (yeah, that Brock Huard). Oh yeah, and Brock's nephew Sam (currently on the roster). But most all UW QBs are named "Jake."
  9. Well, Couging It is still a thing. The one damn time I root for Wazzu every year. Should have just stuck with pulling for the meteor.
  10. Was directly across from you. Was as loud as it's been for quite a while - my voice is just now coming back.
  11. A tale as old as time. (True, though)
  12. Huh... the last time someone in that part of the world tried to supply by air some besieged fascist bastards pinned against a river, it didn't turn out so well.
  13. Yeah, several times. Fuck them. Seriously though, it's a good place to see a game, small but loud, and the fans were not assholes the last two times I was there. (I've been to all the Pac-12 stadia several times and UO and UW have the best game day scenes - although they all have their vastly different charms and I've had a good time at each.) The walk through the park mentioned above is a nice way to get there. Aside from that, definitely hit the coast or Bend. My brother lives in Eugene and TBH there's not a lot going on there although it's pleasant enough.
  14. Русский аэродром, иди на хуй.
  15. You want some coffee? My avatar has some coffee for you. Don't ask where he got it.
  16. Lol. The rot under Jimmy Lake went deep and grew quickly. The sideline incident was no more than perfect cover to dump him. I've never seen cancer in a program grow as quickly as it did here - particularly under a coach that had total support of both the administration and fan base at the beginning of the season. Ripping off the band-aid and starting over ASAP was the best thing that could've happened, and it did.
  17. Yeah, now all they'll get is a bunch of "Russia - 2022 Ukraine Special Operation Champions" t-shirts.
  18. I really like the Portimão circuit. Was just there a couple of weeks ago but there wasn't anything going on. Would have enjoyed seeing that.
  19. Was in rural northern Zambia several years ago and noticed it, but never really thought of why. Good thread.
  20. They're not. You basically described UW football, and we were always hopeful they'd get scheduled up here in November because of it. We called it "USC weather" - one year was 60mph winds, 45 degrees and sideways rain. They always had the talent advantage, but weather is a leveller. They're about to FAFO with those northern schools.
  21. Not to mention that picking a single season and basing everything on that is ludicrous. What OOC match-ups did you have? Did you have an out of the ordinary good/bad season? Why not just cherry pick the past 5 non-Covid seasons? At least there's some leveling there (and OK and Iowa States still probably come out okay. (Example: UW's numbers are never under a million, except last season they missed USC in the conference schedule and had a head coach go 4-8 with 9 win talent, getting shitcanned after one season. Go back 5 non-Covid years? Three NY6 bowls and a CFB berth. Probably a lot more eyeballs on those teams.) I actually really like ISU and want them to land on their feet in the best possible conference they can get. This entire thing pisses me off to no end. Anything that gets Ducks and Huskies to work together must be an abomination to the Lord. 😉
  22. They were a package deal to keep the networks (Fox, in this case) from paying twice - two conference deals - for the LA market. I detest Oregon, but they'd have been the second choice in a vacuum. Stanford and UW for different reasons would be next, UCLA, Utah and ASU nearby. Of the 10 public Pac-12 schools that must report, UW athletics has the highest income and budget, in an effective tie with UO. UCLA obviously tips the needle in basketball, but if football is paying the way, they're not second choice in the conference. Eliminating the LA market for anyone else was the reason it went down like this. Otherwise why not grab Arizona too? USC and Oregon recruit nationally. I doubt the Trojans lose much sleep over Duck recruiting. If they do, they're still a giant pussy that's going to get reamed in the B1G. May it ever be so.
  23. One other thing - the Russian consulate here is barricaded and guarded by some desultory-looking Turkish military cops. The best thing about the consulate, however, is that directly across the street is the "Bayraktar" currency exchange. I'm guessing the Russkies go to a different one....
  24. I would have, but the cisterns are closed and I couldn't find them. (they actually are, so now I have to come back again to see them. And find Karim Bey's kids).
