  1. Probably should have done it 10-14 days ago. A public denial at this point from China would spell disaster for Putin at home politically. China helping Russia cuts off China from the West but perhaps helps get Russia over the hump in Ukraine in the short term. Like others, I think China sees this as an unwinnable war and would be better off isolating Russia.
  2. That interview with the “Russian legislator”, my god. Talk about being bought in to the propaganda. Where is the supposed proof of this genocide btw? It must be extensive to justify an invasion of another country.
  3. Senior citizens, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose.
  4. Was going to mention this at some point because i work for one of said accounting firms above - we were notified yesterday this was being done. The exact wording was that Russia and Belarus were leaving the FIRM network. All of these firms setup limited partnerships in each individual country. Now many of the individual country partnerships work together and enter into joint contracts that may be terminated, but they are separately owned and operated businesses. Which means those groups still exist and work, they just aren't a part of the global firm network and will no longer have access to the same infrastructure. Gotta be an awkward conversation to have to tell a client that they need to pay your last invoice (in dollars only), and that we can no longer serve you because your country has invaded another and is shelling hospitals and kindergartens.
  5. When I used to play goldeneye, deadly accurate. Unless they had RCP90’s.
  6. Did you get the job?
  7. I think the idea of riding Putin out from within was the best path forward, but that looks increasingly difficult as he clamps down on information from the West and the outpouring of propaganda. I guess I really shouldn’t be surprised that Russians on camera aren’t willing to disparage the war on Ukraine, but these folks seemed to really be bought in. The West really should be trying to figure out a way to overcome the Russian propaganda.
  8. Does he consider the Russians victim of the war in Ukraine and he's distributing to families of russian soldiers?
  9. Never heard of it so went to wiki - seems like a great spring break spot: Eritrea is a unitary one-party presidential republic in which national legislative and presidential elections have never been held. According to Human Rights Watch, the Eritrean government's human rights record is among the worst in the world. The Eritrean government has dismissed these allegations as politically motivated. Freedom of the press in Eritrea is extremely limited, the Press Freedom Index consistently ranks it as one of the least free countries. As of 2021 Reporters Without Borders considers the country to have the overall worst press freedom in the world, even lower than North Korea, as all media publications and access are heavily controlled by the government.
  10. would a worldwide pandemic count?
  11. In the slightly modified words of esteemed philosopher David Chappelle: "Russia if you have a problem with the West, you should sanction us. Sanction us with your army. Ohhhh! Wait a minute - you no longer have an army. I guess that means you need to shut the fuck up. That's what I'd do if I didn't have no army. I would shut the fuck up. Shut. The. Fuck. Up. You think we're gonna take orders from a Russian? You might speak 16 languages, but you're gonna need them when you're in Times Square selling fake hats.
  12. Why aren’t ukraninans rushing in droves to mother Russia to escape the persecution and bombing, why is Russia not playing in World Cup, why is my credit card account not working, why can’t I get a new iPhone, yea that list gets pretty long as far as common sense goes. People will get fed up, just a matter of time as long as Germany doesn’t somehow fuck it all up for everyone.
  13. A 20km convoy turns into a 40km convoy pretty quick simply by putting 2 truck lengths in between each vehicle. Probably a good idea for them anyways so they get blown up in groups of 3-4 rather than 6-8. Also can we use miles? Fuck that should be part of our concession once Ukraine wins. Russia has to move to the US measurement system.
  14. <Whoosh> it seemed like 10+ times
  15. Hey did anyone respond to what the thread title translates to yet? Also - to the comment earlier about the sanctions impact. Under what scenario would those be withdrawn? If Putin were to actually control Ukraine - I can't imagine any of the western countries choosing to remove them. But even if somehow someway - Putin accepted defeat and withdrew all forces, why would we let up? He very well could just attack again in the future. I'd argue they should stick until he is disposed of and the actions condemned by the replacement government/leader.
  16. ugh that is awful. That wallpaper with that bedset?
  17. Good reminder that even though everyone here is team #Ukraine and wish nothing but chaos amongst the Russian army and government, these Russian soldiers are also brothers, fathers, sons, etc. Many of them probably 20-30 years old, and not only have been lied to in regards to what they are doing in Ukraine, but pretty much their whole lives what role Russia plays in the world. I'd say there is pretty good evidence at this point that a lot of the forces sent in thought they were coming to free oppressed people which is why you see Russian soldiers allowing citizens to approach them, asking for fuel, joking about tanks running out of gas, abandoning vehicles etc.
  18. Agree with US not responding to threat of nuclear attacks. They just need to stick with any and all financial sanctions and seizures and hit Russia in the pocketbook at home. That combined with continued supply of arms and assistance to Ukraine should create an almost untenable situation at home for Putin. Maybe this is an opportunity to not only oust Putin, but to drastically change Russia for good.
  19. Enchubben’s Peace talk conditions: 1) Russia immediately forfeit all weapons and vehicles and withdraw all military forces from Ukraine. 2) Russia agree to prosecute and execute Putin for war crimes. 3) Restitution for injured/killed Ukrainians and payment to fix damaged critical infrastructure. 4) Russia to create new state sponsored NFT of dildos falling on Putin’s head.
  20. I really do appreciate you updating us on the German mindset and politics behind their decision making. Interesting to follow along with the war develops. That said, I can’t help but think fuck Germany in their fucking German goat asses on the whole. They had to be drug kicking and screaming to this point and to the detriment of Ukraine and to the rest of the NATO nations. And for what, so they could control the EU narrative and give America a black eye? Their energy situation, lack of national defense, and deep fear of neo nazis in Eastern Ukraine with weapons is/was their own doing. Fuck pretzels, accordions and BMW’s.
  21. Fuck all that, that’s a waste. Sell it on open market and distribute the funds to those in Ukraine who have lost family members fighting Russia.
