  1. My understanding is they raised a ton of money over the past 3-4 years to throw towards various athletic facilities and non-football specific campus upgrades. This was the genesis of the large check presented during Jimbo’s last game. My guess is that money will now in large part pay for Jimbo, the old staff, the new staff and whatever’s left will now go towards those facilities. (That combined with cutting resources elsewhere in the football program) There are probably some pissed off donors that thought they were getting their name on a new building but are now floating Jimbo’s retirement and potentially E-Rob?
  2. So they fired Jimbo and start the $76m buyout to retain their defensive coaching staff and remnants of their #1 recruiting class. Then they hire Mark fucking stoops, an even worse offensive mind and turnover the staff and recruiting class anyways???? Lololololol.
  3. The stoops and day stuff just sounds like agent positioning and misinformation even if both of these guys have had interviews or discussions with A&M. Good money should still be on guys like Elko or other mid program HC’s that want one last payday.
  4. The buyout details for Elko are unknown currently because they’re a private university, correct? Would we see what that is if he does get the A&M job since the payments and contracts by A&M would be subject to open records?
  5. IMO Stewart is an easier sell than guys like Hall and Billingsley. By all accounts those guys screwed around at Bama, and Saban actually tries to install discipline and runs a tight ship. I’m not sure aggy even tried to impose any sort of structure or discipline with Jimbo unless you were trying to wear arm sleeves. And if the “culture” at Texas is as strong as many here think, taking a flyer on Stewart isn’t that much of a risk because the locker room will police itself. I think the bigger question is what sort of NIL demands he has and what does the market look like for him.
  6. Bloody hell, can we play some football anytime soon?
  7. It would put us at 3 in between tOSU and FSU on 247. I assume that FSU may still have some momentum but that would likely lock up a top 5 class addressing what I perceive to be our biggest needs. Edge rusher/secondary and a difference maker at WR while continuing to add quality depth elsewhere on the lines. Smith at LB would be a cherry on top.
  8. Not sure where this should go, but the discussion around what the big 12 looks like for Texas Tech once UT and OU leave is the genesis. Having a current 10-1 Texas and 9-2 OU leave the big 12 and replacing them with the following is hilarious: BYU: 2-6 in conference and 5-6 overall UCF: 2-6 in conference and 5-6 overall UH: 2-6 in conference and 4-7 overall CIN: 1-7 in conference and 3-8 overall Not knowing Tech's history, you think they would have the leg up as the largest of the Texas universities in the conference. But finishing the regular season in all likelihood .500 and barely making a bowl game does not inspire a ton of confidence. Looking more and more like Oklahoma State and the Kansas schools might actually be leading the way assuming they are able to hold on to their coaches. Regardless of which school leads this dump once 2 of the current top 3 teams leave, I don't know that I would be bragging about it. Even with a 12 team playoff I could see their conference champ getting the shaft with anything north of one loss.
  9. He sent two kids to a&m? Jesus, they should hope he’s a better coach than father.
  10. 100%. MSU sucks, they probably prepared for Max Johnson and Jimbo’s normal shitty offense and weren’t prepared for a running back playing qb.
  11. I liked South Carolina for like 3 days in 5th grade after I bought a hat from Lids that had Cocks written on it. Then I watched them play a game and got rid of it.
  12. What “good OC” is going to want to tie themselves at the hip to what is clearly an interim HC until someone better comes along? They ended up with the motorcycle bandit last time and that was with the $76M man still showing up to work.
  13. If Elko is the choice and he accepts, Elijah Robinson should throw his resume in the hat for HC at Duke. I’d be pleased with that result. Also - these SEC short clips might be one aspect of moving to the SEC that concerns me the most. I don’t want to be subjected to this god awful humor or the people that like it in perpetuity.
  14. So there you have it. Billy claims the university or athletic department will be funding the buyout. Now I'm no idiot parent that would in a million years send my kid to A&M anyways, but I'd be pissed if one of them was eating the cost to get rid of Jimbo through tuition or athletic fees.
  15. IMO - They recruit kids from all over the state based on talent alone. A lot of these kids have trouble managing their egos and behavior once they get to college after being told they’re the best in the country for 3-4 years straight. That district has tons of talent though, probably better off focusing on the Summer Creeks and Atascocitas long term.
  16. All of those amounts and then add increased NIL needs once you fire the current guy try to keep the little talent they have left on campus while dipping into the transfer portal. That's a lot of scratch. I've been telling people, it's not a matter of the money being there in aggie wallets, the difficulty will be enticing them to open them up for a guy like a Traylor. And to your point - why would the new guy accept anything substantially less than Fisher got when they've been crowing about how rich they are? I cant imagine them being successful approaching a guy like a Traylor and offering him a 5 year $30M contract. He could literally name his price because the fallout and perception of him turning down the offer would be disastrous (for aggies, not me).
  17. North shore kid. I’m sure his career will be drama free and he’ll fully live up to his 5* ranking.
  18. looks like someone could use a reminder on what the term flagship means and how many there are
  19. NSIAP. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/michigan-fired-staffer-video-surfaces-trying-solicit-13-year-old-girl-report.amp Nothing rotten going on at Michigan at all. Everyone’s doing it.
  20. I could be wrong but I believe it’s that swinger couple that sell the target furniture out by Waco.
  21. Better than the delay of game penalties on the first play of the game/half with Herman.
