Might as well tell us your name and the name of the company you run. I am genuinely curious who you are because your bio is impressive af.

But did you see that one genius playcall that Sark made? He is an offensive mastermind!
  4. There is no other profession where you can make numerous dumbass decisions and get celebrated for a few right ones and get paid millions. Defenders of coaches who continue to shit their pants year after year until they get canned remind me of pumpers on stocktwit message boards. I often wonder if some of them work for our athletic department just like I wonder if the pumpers work for the company whose stock they pump or some pump and dump hedge fund. That said, I have not lost hope on the season yet. There is still much to play for unless Sark continue to revert back to his mean performance.
  5. Nobody cares more about the recruiting rankings than Aggy because that's the only ranking money can buy.
  6. None of them are nurses, so I don't get the wealth flex.
  7. This. Refusing to believe that emotion matters in this game is idiotic. This is like classical economics vs behavioral economics. Humans are not machines.
  8. I edited my earlier post to add that Saban has had other ways of keeping his players engaged. You can't just copy one of his coaching traits and expect to be as successful as him.
  9. Saban has had so much talent advantage over the years that he didn't have to. It's been that way for Kirby the last couple of years too. Now that other teams are narrowing the talent gap, you don't see the same Bama dominance anymore. Edit: Saban also keeps his players on short leashes. He benched a QB who won a national championship! He finds ways to keep his players playing with high intensity in every game. You can't just emulate one aspect of his coaching and ignore others and expect to be as successful as he has been.
  10. I know a lot of coaches preach that every game should be treated the same way. "This game is no different from any other game on the schedule." While conceptually it makes sense, in reality you can't sustain similar level of emotion for every game. Some rare coaches like Saban and Kirby have been able to do it consistently over the years but most other coaches fail to get their teams up for every game. I think a coach is better off acknowledging the mental limitations of young men and plan accordingly rather than trying to force something that's not natural. Prepare your team differently for rivalry games so that you can match or exceed the intensity of your rival. You can win most other games just by your sheer talent advantage even if you don't have the same level of intensity.
  11. A close loss to Bama got them Demas few years ago iirc. I guess you can sell hope only for so long.

I hope Sark learns from this game. Any coach that approaches RRS as "just like any game" and "let's just have fun" is doomed to fail.

I can't imagine Saban telling his team to go out there and have fun in his pre-game speech.
  14. I think a lot of Quinn's overthrows have to do with his fear of throwing INTs. When the playing field shrinks in the red zone, he is even more scared of throwing a dime into tight coverage.

There is no team this year that would beat the shit out of us. We played really poorly and still lost by just one score to a very good amd inspired rival.

Sark asked them to have fun. OU, on the other hand, played angry and as if their life depended on winning. Attitude was the biggest difference imo. Our players didn't make the extra effort that's often the deciding factor in a rivalry game like this.

We failed to capitalize on the enormous momentum the program had been experiencing so far this season. I thought Sark's approach to the game was almost Mack Brownish. It's not the end of season, however. We still have everything in front of us. Hope we can run the table from here on.
  19. This is when legends are made. Time for our playmakers to step up.
  20. Settle down and run your offense.
  21. Calling it now... Bert will be the next Texas football hero after this game.
