  1. Top 30 adjusted defenses per Kenpom- Big 12: 9/10 SEC: 4/14 Pac 12: 3/12 Big 10: 2/14 ACC: 1/15 This is disgusting.
  2. Missouri is awful. It would take a serious fuck up to lose that game.
  3. Oops, you're right. I misread your original post and thought you were referring to the Trae Young year which was '17-18. But you were referring to the "year after Trae Young". So yeah, I guess there is precedent for a 7-11 Big 12 team making the NCAA tournament. They also lost the opener in the Big 12 tournament in '18-19 it looks like. So yeah, I would definitely bet on Iowa State getting in at 7-11.
  4. A team like Oregon is going to be the 4th best team in the Pac 12 simply because the conference is complete shit. It's why records are kind of worthless. No shot in hell I'm taking Oregon at 11-7 or 12-6 in the Pac 12 over Iowa State at 7-11 in the Big 12 based on their non-conference resumes/strength of the Big 12.
  5. The bubble is going to be bad. The PAC 12 is awful, this is the worst the ACC has been in like 15 years, and the Big 10 is down this year based on previous seasons.
  6. 8-10 and a loss in the first game of the Big 12 tournament. They weren’t in the play-in game so they might have still made it at 7-11.
  7. The Kansas vs Kentucky game is a fascinating one. I’m really not sure how good Kentucky is and Kansas is at home. But Tshiebwe is going to abuse that Kansas front court.
  8. I have no issue with this at all either. The Big 12 should be rewarded for being a gauntlet. If A&M softball can make the NCAA tournament at 8-16 in the SEC there’s no reason a team like Iowa State shouldn’t get in at 7-11 in the Big 12 for basketball.
  9. 8-10 will get Iowa State in. I would be interested to see Iowa State go 7-11 and see what happens. Based on your non-conference, the strength of the Big 12, and how weak the bubble is going to be I think there’s a shot. I don’t think a 7-11 Big 12 team has ever made it but this is the year for it to happen.
  10. Yeah, the calls Kansas gets at the Phog is annoying. Nobody gets those type calls. They steal a couple games a year at home they shouldn’t win. See Iowa State this year.
  11. I think the law of averages will catch up with Kansas. They’re winning close games with a lot of luck in play and that roster has clear issues in the front court. If you keep playing a bunch of really close games with crazy finishes you’re eventually going to lose a few of them. Kansas deserves credit for finding ways to win but the point still remains. They won’t keep stacking wins if they keep playing in games like this.
  12. Tshiebwe might drop 40 with 30 rebounds against that Kansas front court.
  13. Kansas would be the best team in the country if they could get McCormack playing like last year. Right now they have nothing inside unless somebody like Adams emerges. Kansas is finding ways to win in miracle fashion but they’re about 3 plays away from being 3-4 in the Big 12 vs 6-1. I expect this to eventually balance out and Kansas to start taking some Ls.
  14. If Texas lands Hord there's going to be a ton of pressure to win it all next year because anything other than a national title is going to look like a major underachievement. Not that I'm complaining. I'm glad those are going to be the expectations (assuming Texas lands Hord).
  15. Look at Florida's staff. They're definitely done fucking around. The Perkins news shouldn't be surprising at all if you've paid attention to their staff hires. I bet Florida will be right in the mix for Mathews too.
  16. aggy being upset over the uncle is hilarious since their recruiting play is to pretty much buy family members.
  17. Florida is about to be dropping major bags with that coaching staff. They're about to be another Georgia.
  18. If Nolan doesn't get significant reps in year 1 he will be a major transfer candidate and his dad will want more money. It's going to be fascinating how aggy handles all these types.
  19. Yeah, I was having this discussion earlier. Boyton is being rumored at Louisville if they make a coaching change and he's 33-44 in the Big 12. It's just a brutal conference.
  20. 9/10 of the Big 12 teams are currently top 30 in adjusted D (Kenpom) and Kansas is #46. That's just stupid.
  21. I think a lot of the turnover issues recently is simply because the Big 12 is loaded with good defensive teams. Oklahoma State is #7 in adjusted D (Kenpom) and #12 in defensive turnover %. They do that just to about everyone. There's a good chance Texas wouldn't play a defensive team of the caliber of about 70% of the Big 12 until the 2nd weekend of the tournament.
  22. I don't know about the future but this formula tends to win in March. This team is almost a mirror image of the Texas women's team last year that went 11-7 in the Big 12 which was a much weaker conference than it is men's basketball. That team made the elite 8 because the style of play translates when you get to March. I.e. defend your ass off and limit turnovers on offense. The big difference is people weren't bitching about Schaefer in year 1 because nobody watches WBB (lulz). My personal opinion, is Beard really doesn't give a shit about what other think about his style of play as long as it continues to work in the tournament. I'm not expecting any major changes until it doesn't work. Last year, Beard was 1 or 2 plays away from making his 3rd straight Sweet 16 with this exact same formula.
