  1. West Virginia will be close to a Q1 win at the end of the year. You don't understand how the NCAA committee evaluates wins and losses. Oklahoma State won't even be a bad loss (even though it seems that way). It will be a Q1 loss at the end of the season in all likelihood. This is why 11-7 Big 12 teams get 5 seeds.
  2. Lol at not making the tournament. Every advanced metric currently has Texas in the top 18. Texas could go 8-10 in the Big 12 and likely still make the tournament.
  3. I don't want to be that guy but how hard did Texas and Elliott try to keep Fields if they knew Skinner was a possibility? This roster needed an overhaul and it looks like Texas is doing that. I still hope we're going after another DS but maybe Iosia is staying.
  4. Arkansas won't even sniff the tournament. They're terrible and down to #93 in NET.
  5. That and there's parity across the board. I've been saying all year the top 25 is a mess.
  6. The offseason couldn't be going much better. Now hit on this assistant coach hire. Maybe Elliott is finally getting serious about defense/ball control. Skinner isn't Fields offensively but she's a better all around player defensively isn't she?
  7. By my count so far, Big 12 teams are 8-4 at home in conference. The wins on the road are Baylor over TCU, Texas over K-State, Kansas over Oklahoma State (close game for 32 minutes), Baylor over Iowa State (close game). 2 of those wins were against the 2 bottom tier teams in the Big 12 (TCU and K-State) and the 3rd win was a rock fight with Kansas over Oklahoma State. Winning on the road in this conference is going to be a grind because of how many elite defenses there are in the Big 12. The key is holding home court and finding a way to win a few games on the road.
  8. People are overreacting to these road games. Kansas and Oklahoma State were in an even game for 32 minutes a couple nights ago and they just lost on the road to an undermanned Texas Tech team. Outside of Baylor, every Big 12 team is going to struggle in games on the road.
  9. There are 8 top 35 defenses out of 10 teams in the Big 12. Almost every Big 12 road game is going to be rock fight for everyone other than maybe Baylor. Texas vs Ok State and Kansas vs Texas Tech proved that yesterday. I expect more of the same.
  10. aggy just lost at home to Florida who is 0-2 in the SEC and just lost their best player for the season to injury. Hilarious seeing aggy this bad but that win isn’t going to do anything for us. Not sure aggy is even a tournament team now.
  11. I opened this thread not expecting to be traumatized by a face.
  12. I don't get the Mad Men love at all. Boring as fuck.
  13. Breaking Bad is great but Skyler remains one of the worst characters ever in a TV show.
  14. They had a ton of injuries. The previous 5 years in FEI defense they ranked 19th, 17th, 19th, 22nd and 33rd. This board went insane over Ash who finished 40th in FEI defense. I don't know about the role or whatever but there's no denying that Patterson is a legit defensive mind.
  15. There is a lot of recency bias with Max Johnson because of the ending against aggy. People forget that Johnson was benched late in the season because he was awful against Ole miss, Alabama and Arkansas. I think he's definitely an upgrade over Calzada and probably King. Although I'm not sure it's a huge upgrade over King.
  16. I said this a few pages back but the interesting dynamic with all these 5 stars is they will want to play in year 1. If not they will transfer. Beyond the scholarship numbers, I don’t think aggy is really in a position to take a bunch of transfers and play them over the talented FR. Based on how Liucci is framing things I think aggy is definitely gonna roll with the “we are very talented but young” rebuild narrative these next couple of years. Let’s see how aggy feels about some more 8-4 seasons.
  17. Plus, players like Gaston and Moore just need reps. Gaston missed a couple games prior to Tech with Covid and Moore was out for that long stretch. Texas finally has everyone back so it would be nice to get into some type of rhythm with a full roster for once.
  18. Interesting. From reading about Ovrootsky, it sounds like she could be a one and done talent. If she's a similar caliber player as Stearns last season feels like this team might even have a higher ceiling. From an experience and talent perspective would it be crazy to say on paper this team might actually be better than last year's team?
  19. Is the Pac really going to be a 3 bid league this year? It's really looking that way with just Arizona, UCLA and USC. That's awful in a 12 team power conference.
  20. As somebody that's far from an expert in tennis that was my thought. Seems like with the Zamarripa twins Texas will actually improve in doubles, Texas has a legit line 1 player in Stearns, and they have Chavatipon/Collins/Rapulo returning who played lines 4-6 last season on the national title team. I know nothing about other rosters but shouldn't we be heavy favorites to repeat?
  21. Jimbo is going to be confused trying to explain a WR making plays.
  22. Mulkey looks like she's having an exorcism in the middle of this game.
  23. No legit program wants him as a starter. That should tell you everything you need to know.
  24. South Carolina looks vulnerable. This doesn't look anything like a team that's a lock to win it all. They may still win this game against LSU but they've struggled for a couple weeks now.
  25. I don't really get the Klieman love either. I get it's K-State but he's 20-16 and 13-14 in the Big 12 in 3 seasons.
