  1. Yeah, that aggy win isn't going to do much for us. They are terrible and won't even go .500 in the SEC.
  2. Also, if you look at that SEC rant thread there's a breakdown of the roster based on classification. Damn, aggy is going to be young as fuck next season. Only 32 upperclassmen scholarship players and several of those are still going to leave for the NFL or get processed.
  3. No clue if the numbers are right but aggy is about to start processing a lot of players. "We still need 12 more to leave or retire to get under the 85 scholarship limit. If we sign Stewart, Mathews and another transfer, that's 15 we need to leave.I'm including Myles Jones and Tyree Johnson in that list." https://www.secrant.com/rant/texas-a-m-sports/ainias-coming-back-next-year/100617722/
  4. aggy is getting run by Tennessee. I wish we could have pulled out that Tennessee win because Tennessee is looking like a legit top 10 team. Also, aggy sucks. Tech is really the only outlier right now because Texas has shown they can play with top 10 teams (see Stanford and Tennessee).
  5. Kobe-King Hawea has been out with injuries/Covid but I think she needs more minutes too. She can really shoot and score. It's another young player though. Schaefer is obviously worried about how young this team is which is why he's been starting 3 SRs that aren't as talented but he's gotta just say fuck it and start playing the better players regardless of age/experience. It's only going to help for next season too.
  6. It's going to be a headache but fully expected. Our 4 best bigs are 3 true FR and Sophomore that missed most of her FR year. Last night was the first time all year it was really a major issue (maybe Tennessee too). If Jessika Carter enters the portal I expect Schaefer to be all over that to add experience to the room next season.
  7. They were the more aggressive team last night but the officiating was still horrendous.
  8. He should find a G5 school. Scott Frost is going to be fired a few games into the season next year.
  9. This is pretty much it. It's lil bro syndrome. Texas can spot this from a mile away because we've dealt with aggys. If Beard would have gone anywhere other than Texas there wouldn't have been much of an outcry at all.
  10. OU is pretty much telling him that Gabriel is going to be the starter. No chance he's going there unless his dad is just a moron that wants his kid at OU.
  11. I never found Coale to be that annoying. Mulkey was annoying but she also won so she had the right to run her mouth. Tech kicked our ass last night but they sure our mouthy for a program that hasn't made the tournament since 2013. It's interesting how much Tech valued that win last night. This seems to be the target that Schaefer has built at Texas now. Every game is the other team's super bowl.
  12. Maybe it's a few bad apples but it's gone way too far. When you start seeing twitter accounts pop up with names like "Kill Chris Beard" and other twitter accounts that are threatening Beard's daughter it's beyond pathetic. It's a sad thing to say but Beard probably needs some extra security when Texas goes to Lubbock.
  13. The loss last night didn't kill our NET. Only down to #9.
  14. I’m starting to believe Texas just isn’t that great at talent evaluation at DS. It’s impossible to verify but let’s see how somebody like Iosia does at another school. If she’s still meh at another school is it development or simply the fact she’s not an elite talent?
  15. That’s the main problem with Iosia too. She will make some incredible plays on digs but her serve-receive is so inconsistent. We just need some DS players that can keep us in system.
  16. Iosia isn't a bad player but my thought process going into next season was Texas needed to make some big changes (from a roster perspective) if they wanted to take the next step. Meaning a new libero, another DS, and a new setter. Gabriel and Iosia are fine players but they aren't the caliber of player we've had at the pins/middle historically. That's the problem. Is it development or bad talent evaluation? I dunno but I think changes needed to be made on the roster. Losing Fields sucks but going to SKT and Fleck would be a great start at improving. I think another DS is needed too regardless of Iosia's intentions.
  17. Put me in the group of being very meh on losing Iosia if Texas adds another good DS from somewhere else. She’s young but I haven’t seen anything yet that shows she’s anywhere close to being an elite player. Granted, that might say something about Elliot’s development/evaluation of talent at that specific position.
  18. No doubt and I get the hesitation from Schaefer. This team is talented but also very young. Starting that many underclassmen may give him a stroke by seasons end.
  19. Fields only has 1 year of eligibility left correct? Or is it 2? I thought she would end up at a better program in the national championship hunt. What's the draw to USC otherthem letting her be a six-rotation player? Maybe that's all she wanted.
  20. I guess the rumors of Fields wanting to be a six-rotation player were true. When was the last time USC was any good? 2017?
  21. There are 7 Kenpom top 30 defenses in the Big 12. To win in this league you're gonna have to win some ugly games like this one tonight. I'm expecting a lot more games just like this one tonight.
  22. Yeah, it sucks but I think it will all even itself out by the end of the year. My guess is everyone will end up going through similar circumstances.
  23. When Huggins is a ref you know it's about to be a long night.
