  1. He's #10 in the composite but #25 per 247. 247 said he was the top performer yesterday so he's probably going to end up even higher than the #10 composite recruit once 247 adjusts their rankings.
  2. I picked UNC to win this game forgetting Mack still coached there.
  3. This is why you don't overreact to bowl games. Oregon was down like 40 scholarship players and now OU fans think Riley was the problem because they beat a mediocre team without half their roster.
  4. Yeah, that hire makes no sense. I doubt it's who aggy is hiring.
  5. The Durkin hire makes no sense so I don't really believe it. I know Tarp said he's not married to the 3 man front but isn't that primarily what he's run his entire career? aggy signs all these elite DL to play a 3 man front?
  6. you know the old aggy saying, "aggys don't lie, cheat, or steal but they will hire a coach that kills their players."
  7. Yeah, I thought some other players might be above Jones. I knew Carr had been inconsistent offensively but thought box plus/minus would look better based on his defensive effort. That's the guy Texas has to get going.
  8. I know box-plus minus isn't the best stat but back to the Tyson discussion. Last on the team in box-plus minus including walk-ons that play. We also need Carr to start playing better or really any guard to step up. Just one of these guards being halfway decent to pair with Disu, Mitchell and Allen will cook. Box-plus minus: Disu 15.7 Mitchell 13.1 Allen 9.3 Jones 7.4 Licon 7.2 Bishop 6.3 Cunningham 5.7 Febres 3.9 Ramey 3.7 Askew 3.5 Benson 1.6 Carr 0.1 Tyson 0.0
  9. Oregon and Clemson both played with depleted rosters yesterday. Oregon was down over 30 scholarship players and Clemson was down 28. But remember, aggy couldn't play this game.
  10. "The future looks bright for the Texas A&M passing game." Meaning Evan Stewart will have 3 catches next season.
  11. With the Big 12, you don't need an extremely tough non-conference schedule. 3 or 4 good opponents in non-conference is perfectly fine. You're going to be golden from an advanced metrics perspective simply based on the round robin conference scheduling and how many good teams are in the Big 12. Which is why almost every Big 12 team this year has played a soft SOS. When you're playing 18-21 games (including Big 12 tournament) with at least 12 of those coming against quality teams there's no need to stack a non-conference schedule.
  12. I bet this improves significantly at Texas. I had this same discussion about Schaefer. Schaefer played a soft schedule in non-conference and a very tough conference schedule in the SEC at Miss State. You can get more marquee type games at Texas vs Tech/Miss State. I don't expect Beard or Schaefer to ever play a brutal non-conference schedule but in the 80-150 range moving forward. Which is more than fine based on a tough conference schedule.
  13. Big 12 play is going to be interesting because nobody has really played a tough non-conference SOS. Here are the Kenpom SOS rankings so far. Baylor (#309) Kansas (#95) Texas (#358) Tech (#354) OU (#281) WV (#193) Iowa State (#348) OK State (#143) TCU (#310) K-State (#321)
  14. Brumbaugh had a huge summer. I'm surprised he isn't ranked higher. Jeff Goodman loves Brumbaugh almost as much as he does Chris Beard so this will be funny if it happens.
  15. Gerry Hamilton and Justin Wells were asked if there was any chance Campbell would sign with aggy as there were rumors of aggy trying to get back into the recruitment. They both said "0%" and were pretty much implying that Campbell signed. Barbacoa said he signed. Sark also sent out his normal commitment tweet a few minutes after the NSD1 deadline that still hasn't gone public. Right before that Campbell's dad tweeted something that suggested he might have signed with several Longhorn staffers liking the tweet. Reading the tea leaves, it certainly seems like Campbell signed and is just waiting to make his announcement at the time he already had scheduled.
  16. Campbell might end up higher than the #10 composite recruit because he's currently #25 in the 247 rankings and they're all raving about him
  17. Campbell is a beast. I’m convinced we’re cursed on the OL if he doesn’t end up as a very good player here.
  18. Bama isn't very good. That's been evident for a few weeks now. Luckily for them they get a quality win because of Covid issues with Tennessee.
  19. Unless Tyson makes significant improvement I'm not sure he's getting major minutes at Tech next season either. So good luck with that.
