That was a systematic dismantling of a team that was outmatched in every way.  Alabama suffocated them and didn’t show anything at all.  Cincinnati had the following drives outside of their field goals right up until that moment in the third:

1 yard, 6 yards, 5 yards, 4 yards, 1 yard.  Then after that moment they had a drive of -16 yards.

Cincy was a team that was getting strangled slowly instead of riddled with bullets. 11 points might as well have been 50. There’s no shame in what happened to them, Bama does it to lots of really, really good teams.

This. Given the playoff, Saban didn't need style points.

Watching Brand New Cherry Flavor. Fuckin weird as fuck. I’m into it.

I randomly started watching this last night. Second. Still not sure is this is intentional or a parody. Disappointing it took five episodes to earn the nudity warning.

The whole series is a ridiculous premise but I have to give them credit about creating drama and comedy. I’m ready for season 5.

It's pretty amazing. I continue to be shocked they've done a near-perfect job of creating four entertaining, fun seasons from a very dated 80s movie.

yeah, the anyone-beth relationship is written about as shittily as something can be written.

    FIFY.

One of the myriad tragedies of this season has been the Jamie arc.

We just spent 11 days in Orlando for a Disney trip, a very special Santa gift that had already been rescheduled once else we would have tried to move back again.  It was an absolute madhouse with masks only required indoors/rides, and constant ACL-like crowds of maskless people outside.  It’ll be a miracle if none of us caught it despite masks.

Given the huge number of morbidly obese and/or old people who couldn’t handle walking and were relegated to electric scooters, I’m pretty sure some of those I saw (and were constantly trying to run me over) won’t survive an infection.  Naturally they were least likely to wear a mask.

Fingers crossed.  Buddy and his family took rapids today (negative) and so far no one is symptomatic, but will need a few more days to be sure.

My son is heading back today from a week at Disney. You probably saw that lady from the picture I posted. The boy took it last week at the Magic Kingdom, and he saw her at least twice but does not have the skills of some of our "Hot or Not" posters and did not risk a picture on day two! LOL.

I'm worried that Omicron is going to spread through schools like wildfire over the next couple of weeks. I got tested by my school nurse this morning and there were three other teachers in there doing the same. I have a feeling some schools will have to shut down or go virtual because of a lack of teachers and subs in the building.

Just heard a local ISD is going virtual. Unfortunately, demographically, its students are among the most vulnerable.

  7. My is a teacher (not AISD), and she genuinely has a passion for it. However, this year has been her worst year of her career, and for the first time she actually contemplated quitting.

Her biggest frustration is the kids -  not sure if this is broadly experienced or her particular school, but she said the kids have been exponentially worse this year. Also, the amount of superfluous b.s they have to put with seems to grow every year.

Just like today, districts seem to fill up their non-instructional time with consultant-driven crap that has no real value to classroom instruction efficacy. She would love more time to work on her curricula or in her classroom, but every in-service is full of useless nonsense.

Also, as noted above, the accommodations have also gotten out of control. Almost any kid can find some reason to require special accommodation, and then the teachers have to jump through hoops to make sure Little Johnny is taken care of.

This is probably universal, but parents continue to be adversaries. <Get off My Yard Warning> When I was in school, if you got in trouble at school you would get in more trouble at home. Today, 95% of parents side with Little Johnny instead of the teachers.

Finally, at least her experience, most school administrators would not make middle manager at any company. There are some good ones but most of them I would not let mow my yard.

Agreed with all of that in my post before esp about Lee.

My guess is the marriage thing was rushed because if she dies or went to jail she wants Rip to be setup/taken care of with whatever is hers.

    LOL. Obvious is obvious.

The urgency of Beth's wedding was she was still convinced that Jamie actually hired the hit, and she was going to kill him.  Also, she knew Market Equities was going to find out about her little betrayal and try to get her thrown in jail.

Still an over the top storyline.

Sorry - first post-holiday Monday ... still not making the connection. Is this just so Rip cannot testify against her?

  10. Fitting ending to a pretty slow season. The single craziest thing for me about the finale is I had completely forgotten about Lee. The fact the eldest son and heir to the throne has not been mentioned since the first episode seems crazy. John and the other siblings just sort of forgot about him?

Outside of that, I was pretty lost. Didn't get the urgency of Beth's wedding. Not sure why this season became the crazy Beth season, but fine to see more of her but she needs 1% of her current dialogue / plot lines. Keep her in sexy dresses and quiet.

The playoffs were on Friday.  Then yesterday there were OTHER bowl games that weren't playoff games.  That is so fucking absurd it can barely be mentioned.  No other bowl games should exist except the playoffs.  That's how every other sport does it.  Even if you want to keep the bowls, which is idiotic but whatever, they should ALL be played before the fucking playoffs.

Who freaking let the Texas Bowl play on 1/4? #idiocracy

the Sugar was one of the most hard hitting intensely played games I've seen in a long time. Both teams badly wanted to be there and win. A pity about Corral, but I still think Baylor wins. Look at the speed on teams from the south!

Aranda will be the next Alabama coach

Fun game. Better than the semi-final disasters and another Bama beats Georgia II. ESPN tried to spin the Corral angle to death for secsecsec but agree probably doesn't change result. Baylor QB was gimpy too and arguably backup after what the other kid did in last three games.

I never said Aranda would make a lateral move. I said Baylor is a stepping stone, meaning there are bigger/better jobs to move on to. Couple more good seasons and Aranda is moving on.

Maybe you should read up on what "stepping stone" means. Hint:

    Spoiler

It's not a 20-year, three national championship tenure,

    In case you forgot:

Peyton looking very rude. Love the mermaid outfit/nopedo

    Spoiler

I'll admit I completely fell for the "she's a stripper!" YES!

Another fun season. They had some clever moments like the mermaid setup and minor characters almost breaking the third wall (like the countdown at the tournament). Doing a near perfect job of pushing the cheese envelope without going full CheezWhiz.

It's Playing in the Sand - Dead and Co for Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday night, and Margo Price, The Main Squeeze, and Celisse for Friday night.

The concert stage is on the beach and there's food and booze and water stands everywhere and it's all covered in the concert/resort ticket. Plus night shows every night etc etc.

They require vaccination plus a negative test within 48hrs to go to the show, so I'm pretty comfortable going for it. And the worst case if I test positive is I'm stuck at the resort for a few more days till I get a negative test to fly home

Have fun. We landed in CUN the first day it opened last year and went back this summer. Had a blast both times.
