Do you want to tell the black people of America it was all white people killed or should someone else?  Note- I've paid little to no attention to this thing until the last couple days as I've seen the prosecution just doing a really really really bad job. I had assumed at the BLM shindig it was a white on black crime that happened with KR and didn't find out it was all white guys dead until Monday.

That's the core difference between the two board discussions: one is a discussion among people watching the trial and one is CNN viewers screaming.

This is why I question the move by both Texas and OU.  Sure, the pie slices are bigger, but for fans, is the amount of money your program makes the most important consideration, or winning?  There will be a LOT of losses to go around in the SEC, and only so many playoff slots for 2 loss teams.  I'll be interested to see how it plays out.

It is not like we've been tearing up XII over our tenure.

They shouldn't be, but look at the CR thread on this topic and it becomes clear why the have to.  There are posters actually hoping this kid gets murdered on his way out of the court house while others would settle for 3 weeks afterwards.

They've probably already started a bail fund for the killer. I continue to be fascinated by what triggers the crazies.

That was the other one I was gonna angle for.   Just waiting for Ozark, Peaky Blinders, After Life, City on a Hill to all come back.

I couldn't hang with Ozark and Peaky Blinders after Season 2.

The U.S. Department of Education opened a civil rights investigation into allegations of discrimination in Southlake schools, district and federal officials confirmed.

The department’s Office for Civil Rights last week informed the Carroll school district -- which has been at the center of an ongoing firestorm on how to handle diversity and inclusion -- that it opened three investigations.

NBC News first reported the news of a federal probe.

An education department spokeswoman confirmed that the investigation is looking into “allegations related to discrimination based on race, color, national origin, or sex.”

Karen Fitzgerald, a spokeswoman for Carroll ISD, wrote in a statement that the district is “fully cooperating with this process and diligently pulling all documents requested.“

She declined to share more information on the specifics of the requests, citing student privacy law.

“Our focus will always be what is best for our students as we prepare them for their next steps in their educational journey,” she wrote.

The affluent, mostly white district -- the subject of a six-part NBC podcast -- has become a symbol for what backlash against “critical race theory” looks like.

The district recently attracted national attention after an administrator advised educators to teach students about the Holocaust from “opposing” perspectives, according to an audio recording obtained by NBC News.

Trustees also voted to reprimand a teacher who gave one of her students a book about anti-racism entitled This Book is Anti-Racist: 20 Lessons on How to Wake Up, Take Action, and Do the Work by Tiffany Jewell. The book is a New York Times best seller.

Last week in a video message to parents and students, Superintendent Lane Ledbetter vowed to shift his focus from uniting the city to uniting the school district. Ledbetter has been in his role less than a year.

“My job is to take care of our staff and to ensure that we’re providing a world-class education in a safe environment for our kids and our staff,” Ledbetter said in the video. “And I apologize that I’ve been distracted.”

Ledebtter’s first year as superintendent has been embroiled in controversy over the district’s proposed diversity and inclusion plan, called the Cultural Competence Action Plan. The plan -- intended to make the district more inclusive for students of color -- was drafted by a council of more than 60 parents, students and staff after videos of Carroll students chanting the n-word went viral in 2018 and 2019.

He was asking about the motion to dismiss with prejudice which was filed on the 15th.  If the defense withheld exculpatory evidence until after evidence closed, a mistrial with prejudice may damn well be warranted.  I will wait to see the state's response.  But this would not be the first time those assholes fucked with Kyle Rittenhouse's constitutional rights in this trial.

When you argue with a fool, it's just two fools arguing.

You’ve never seen someone drop something on the floor and thought they were an asshole for not picking it up? As Larry said, it’s the entitlement. Kinda like assholes who are too good to pick up their dog’s shit.

I get it. I guess I was just distracted by the focus on it being Pirate's Booty. I mean we've bought it for the kid's, but did not realize it had reached zeitgeist.

So the anarchists are for The State? This is a weird timeline.

I ponder this a lot ... it is a weird time. I think we have historic precedents where there are armed thugs in the streets doing the will of the state and being actively supported by

    Spoiler

being more specific will trigger the snowflakes but you know who they are posting bail, offering support, etc.

  9. I heard the guy that hosts the legal insurrection channel that is covering the trial. They prosecution charged him with arson and has him on ice so basically he could take the fifth during the Rittenhouse trial to avoid implicating himself in the arson charge. I have not taken the time to research it, but that is what the legal insurrection guy said, and he seems to have a good handle on the events of this case.

Curb is funniest when Larry inadvertently says or does what we all want to do but can't bc of basic human social rules and decorum...the dinner party toast reaction, "one or two", black people should be able to eat watermelon free from judgement, etc.

for me it's least funny when he's just intentionally being confrontational or an asshole.

    Larry as our collective Id.

I'm guessing he felt it necessary because the propaganda show hannity put a spotlight on comments made over a year ago. And a fox reporter and son of a F&F host asked it yesterday in a media briefing.

But who am I kidding, yall weren't reasoned into your position. You certainly won't be reasoned out of it.

finished last night...ending was incredible. the last 30 minutes was just one 'holy shit' moment after another. the train scene was masterful and packed a huge punch.

they just left a trail of destroyed souls behind them, both literally (wonder what the final body count for each of them was) and figuratively.

i thought Philip quitting The Work and then gradually realizing The American Dream is difficult and often a mirage was a fantastic subplot. he really tried.

they did a great job in the final season showing how much The Work weighed on Elizabeth physically - she looked grimy and exhausted, much different from the first seasons where she was so radiant with her Vidal Sassoon hair lol.

Martha, Oleg, Nina, Stan...lots of tragic lives. Oleg's dad meeting with Arkady really got me in the feels..."what do i tell his mother?"

consistently great show with very few 'down' points even at six seasons.

It did a great job of showing how the Cold War played out in the trenches. At the end, I was not really cheering for anyone. Your post reminds me time for a re-watch ... I have a genetic defect where I cannot remember TV shows or movies LOL. Just reminds me again of how it's begging for a sequel.

When they stop off in FW they better show it accurately with shit traffic, never ending construction, Y’all Qaeda urban assault vehicles, and people saying the Rangers are gonna put it all together next year.

And how they're going to miss Fatterson.

It’s just a little ridiculous this season.  If you’re a Dutton apparently you can kill, assault, destroy property, and do just about anything you want with impunity.  Also you are apparently bullet and explosion proof.  And you don’t need any of that candy ass tights and cape either.

I forgot to mention torture, maim, pillage, and loot.

You ever seen a movie or TV show?

Need more Mo - his family breakfast was a nice touch. The final scene should be him and Rip sitting on a porch, sharing a beer.

That California guy was not a stereotype. The llamas were a nice touch. That was peak Californian.
