  1. i wouldn't say "much worse." You can't get any closer than this: https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/video/dodgers-rojas-throws-out-world-series-winning-run-at-home-plate/
  2. I didn't think there could be a worse WS loss than the Rangers being 1 strike away, but this takes it. That play at the plate.. literally a millisecond away from a WS.
  3. If last season is any indicator, the loss column is what's most important to the committee. They can talk about not punishing OOC losses, but I'll believe it when I see it. I don't think playing some random P4 instead of an elite OOC opponent is doing the 'wrong' thing. We'll play around 4 marquee opponents every year in conference, then more in the playoffs if we get there. With realignment and the expanded playoff, there have never been more marquee matchups in CFB then there are now.
  4. Side note: there is zero upside to scheduling elite opponents OOC. "But the experience!" I'd rather experience playing them in the playoffs.
  5. Ewers didn't exactly light it up under Sark either. And he was 7th round pick. I doubt his development has anything to do with who they hire.
  6. I never said anything about Sark, but 1-0 with Caleb Williams vs Casey Thompson = owns?
  7. Makes sense. He did everything he could to stop the 2020 season when OU had to replace Hurts with freshman Rattler (they still won the Big 12 anyway--thanks Herman). Then he was scared of the SEC. Now he's scared of ND. Seems like he only wants to coach if he feels he has an inherent advantage over the competition, which Tech can provide. But he'll never win anything. He's a soft bitch and all of his teams reflect that.
  8. There's more money in Austin alone then Louisiana.
  9. Maybe he's not as polished as we thought, but he clearly gives a shit and has put his body on the line for Texas. Hopefully it all works out here, but no matter what happens I'm rooting for the kid.
  10. LSU was a historical mid-teir program prior to Saban. Be a shame if they reverted back.
  11. The reality is this team is about equal with MSU from a talent standpoint. More high-end talent, but also glaring holes (i.e. OL). It's not the standard, and yes it's on Sark, but there's no fixing it mid-season. Enjoy whatever wins we can get. I think it's clear Sark wants out, but didn't want it getting out. But he's not getting any NFL HC offers. He either fixes things (ideal), gets "for caused" (not great but not the worst thing), or gets bought after 2-3 years of underperforming (worst case). Whatever happens, he's not walking away from $60M.
  12. Tony Annese. 138-21 record, 2 JUCO titles, 3 D2 titles. Seems like he can coach. Not exactly an "up and comer" though. But neither was Cignetti.
  13. They will lose every remaining game if they continue playing like they did last week. You think going 5-7 with the preseason #1 team is some sort of 4D chess move? Because they got reps with this shitty offense that apparently requires 1st round talent at every position to function? The goal for this season should be to tread water and finish with a somewhat respectable record. Going 9-3 and not getting completely embarrassed at UGA would be a major success at this point. Then rebuild the OL through the portal and completely reevaluate everything (and everyone) involved with the offense.
  14. It's a good investment if the guy actually hits, but they're giving these coaches Saban-like contracts for having 1-2 good seasons, which does not mean you're a good coach. Fucking Ed Orgeron and Gene Chizik won national championships.
  15. The whole thing is a racket. Jimmy Sexton is basically a hedge fund manager.
  16. The entire "industry" has become a microcosm of everything that's wrong with the economy/society in general. Both bubbles will burst at some point (probably at the same time).
  17. I wouldn't go that far. Arch can't make basic throws, but Beck is a turnover machine. It's close.
  18. He's carried Sark for 2 years.
  19. PK has carried this program for 2 years now.
  20. Vandy's offense is so disciplined and crisp. Why can't we have that?
  21. Hopefully Robertson takes the starting job and never gives it back.
  22. I don't care what Tech does against BYU, they aren't an elite team. I have no idea what Indiana's NIL situation is, but their highest ranked recruiting class in the last 5 years was #25 in 2022. Their highest ranked portal class since 2022 (the first year of the rankings) was #19 in 2023. Maybe they're throwing around all kinds of money, but none of the rankings reflect that. I don't like Cignetti either, but the guy clearly knows how to fucking coach.
  23. The oversized T E X A S grates my nerves every time I see it. Really wish we would go back to this font (and color):
  24. He's coached 3 games against top 5 teams and has won 1. That's not bad for anyone, let alone Indiana. Never played PSU. McGuire has never lost fewer than 5 games until this season (where he has one of the most expensive rosters in CFB). And BYU? We talkin bout BYU???
