  1. UW use to shut down Leach's offense at WSU. Was it all Jimmy Lake? What's he up to these days?
  2. Charles Haley and Darren Woodson were pretty good though
  3. So if we get elite talent at every level of the defense, it might work?
  4. I felt the same. Hated the hire, and hated it even more up until the last couple weeks. And while I loved every second of 49-0, that OU team is probably worse than any of the shit teams we've fielded over the last 12 years. They're that pitiful. But maybe Sark is the guy. Two weeks ago I would've said no way in hell; now I'd say it's about 50/50. Not a sure thing like some people seem to think after last week, but things appear to be trending upwards. We should know by the end of the season.

I give him credit for turning things around at Temple and Baylor. He's shown he can walk into a complete shitshow and at least make them respectable. But I agree with others in this thread--he's not the sure-fire future Saban/Urban/Dabo that some people make him out to be.
  6. They're aggy. It's a low bar.
  7. Hopefully they add another 10 years to the extension.
  8. Best 3-3 team in the country.
  9. OU's proximity to Texas and DFW specifically will prevent them from completely falling off the map like Nebraska. As OP stated, they are basically where we were in Strong's first year--a gutted roster with an incompetent HC. They'll give Venables 2 or 3 years, and then start the process over again. However, it's a tougher rebuild than Texas; I doubt they'll still be able to pull top 10 classes after several seasons of mediocrity.
  10. Depends on how you define resurrect. Make them respectable? Or make them legit contenders? You need top 5 recruiting classes for the latter. I can't imagine that happening at Nebraska, unless they do something completely outside the box.
  11. 14-13 over Rutgers. Is Nebraska...back? On a serious note, they should just say fuck it and go after Deion. Laugh if you will, but he would immediately put them in the national spotlight for the first time in 20+ years. And recruits love the spotlight. It would be the ultimate high risk/high reward hire, but what do they have to lose at this point? Matt Campbell or Luke Fickell aren't resurrecting that program.
  12. Yeah, just sounds a lot better. I'll take 49-0 though.
  13. He was limping after recovering the botched snap. Didn't seem to affect him the rest of the game. Seems like he's just a guy that gets "hurt" a lot, but not necessarily "injured."
  14. No trophies for him to do that with.
  15. We're just fans, and we've been kicked in the balls repeatedly for 12 years. We can blame and whine about whatever the hell we want.
  16. Every major program has wealthy meddling donors, and every fanbase would be fickle after 12+ years of suckage.
  17. The way he filled out his staff was a huge red flag for me. Hiring a DC after filling out the defensive staff? An O-line coach that doubles as the OC? Just a shit show from the beginning.
  18. I thought we should've just retained Ash. Whatever.
  19. Nothing about his resume suggests that.
  20. Herman also wasn't able to throw NIL money at recruits. Not defending Herman (he had 4 years and couldn't get it done), but it's not like Sark is some recruiting savant.
  21. Why is anyone surprised? The guy has a nearly decade long track record of mediocrity as a HC. This is what we signed up for.
  22. We need to go back to black shoes/socks with our home jerseys.
  23. Tom was/is an asshole, but that had nothing to do with him being fired, and has nothing to do with him not coaching now. Remember when we tried replacing him with Urban? He was fired for being mediocre. He's a high floor/low ceiling coach. His teams play physical and he has some talent as a game planner (when he feels like it), but he doesn't know how to run an elite program. He had multiple recruiting classes with only two O-linemen, and Kai Money was getting meaningful snaps in his final year. Watching guys like Luke Brockermeyer and Jett Bush on our 3rd string defense last night was a nice reminder of his terrible roster management.
