  1. I'll wait until the end of the season to take a definitive stance. I don't know if Tom is "the guy" (unlikely, since there have only been 2 in the history of the program), but he's built a solid foundation. The roster is in the best shape it's been in a decade. Now you could say that any dumbass should be able to build a talented roster at Texas, and I won't argue with that... but at the very least, he's done a better job than late Mack/Charlie (not saying much, I know). This season (if it happens) will tell us everything we need to know. I wouldn't be shocked if we made a run to the playoff, in which case the "Fire Herman" crowd all look like idiots; I also wouldn't be surprised by another 8-5 showing. We shall (hopefully) see.
  2. Stupid sip, New England HSFB is where the real talent is.
  3. 2 pages in and no mention of this?
  4. Today's results couldn't have been much better. Now just need Clemson to beat LSU.
  5. Nothing you said has anything to do with the shit product Herman has put on the field throughout his tenure here.
  6. I know Campbell is a Midwest guy, but I have a hard time believing he would turn down FSU. They're down right now (mostly due to Jimbo's terrible roster management), but it's not a Tennessee situation. He could turn them around quick in that conference.
  7. I wouldn't pencil him in as the starting slot next season. I think there's a decent chance Whittington moves back to WR.
  8. 3rd and Orlando coming up
  9. Is FSU even a better job than Oregon at this point? Aren't they always broke? They obviously have more talent in FL, but Oregon has clearly stepped their game up in recent year$.
  10. The few times we used 4 down linemen we seemed to get some pressure... but of course we abandoned it down the stretch, and got torched.
  11. Get rid of Tim Beck while we're at it.
  12. Didn't learn from 3rd and 17 against LSU. He's done.
  13. Heh
  14. Doesn't Call have a designated tackling coach? Their defense has been solid under Wilcox. Replacing one of our two WR coaches and/or Warehime with someone who can teach propper tackling technique might be beneficial (in addition to firing Orlando, of course).
  15. Riley certainly looks the part, but he doesn't have the skins those other two have. Regardless, he ain't coming here either.
  16. Cal hasn't broken 30 pts all season. They do play good defense though. Maybe we should look at their DC.
  17. Peterson lost to Cal this season. Gundy had one great season and can't beat OU. Patterson peaked five years ago. Saban and Swinney are the only sure-thing, championship caliber coaches in the country, and they aren't coming here. Despite last night's (and last week's) shit show, the program is in the best shape it's been since 2009. Herman made some shitty hires when he got here, and they're holding the program back right now, but I'm willing to give him this offseason before jumping off the train.
  18. He's gotta fire Orlando. Absolutely has to.
  19. At the very least, he has to be gone at the end of the season. Right? Right?!?!?
  20. Texas has sucked for the last decade. Everyone here is well aware of that. And yet, they have the conference's most recent NC and would probably have the two most recent if not for the McCoy injury. OU is 0-6 in their last six NC/playoff games. Had they only lost one or two (hell even three or four) of those games, then maybe I'd call them a juggernaut. But 0-6? Nah.
  21. Losing to other playoff teams doesn't mean they aren't any good. It means they aren't a "juggernaut." To put them in the same category as Bama is laughable.
  22. No, that's not bullshit. Recruiting rankings obviously don't mean everything, but they're a good indicator of overall talent level. We rank higher than them more often than not, and we regularly win head-to-head recruiting battles against them. Maybe they're better at evaluating and developing, but that still has nothing to do with "caring more."
  23. "Caring more" is a lame excuse. All that matters when it comes to on-field performance is talent and coaching. We out-recruit them more often than not, so if anything we should have a slight talent advantage. We lost because they had superior schemes on both sides of the ball.
  24. Phil's getting up there in age, and he already has more money than he could ever spend. I could see him saying fuck it and going all in.
  25. I'm for this in principle, but what's to stop Phil Knight from offering every top recruit a Nike deal if they sign with Oregon?
