I have read and watched a lot on this top the last year.
Qualified Immunity needs to go away. Officers can get individual worker liability insurance based on their past. That is capitalism. It can be built into their pay.
There needs to be a federal database of officers to track them ( I thought of setting up a civilian one, after watching repeated violations of officers) Youtubers state the officers name in titles in an effort.
In Big Cities there needs to be a civilian "Internal Affairs" . Internal Affairs is a joke.
In Cities, Police Make 100k up to 200k overtime, That money needs to go to more officers, so you can fire anyone.
6 months average Police Academy? Then you send them with a gun and badge? It needs to be 2 years.
I've watched so many cases, Cops Lie like everyone else, and Judges accept their testimony over a citizen. How? They are partners in government. More Overwatch.
Drug dogs are only proven 50% effective, and that allows them to search? A Cop can just say I smell something, and that gives him reasonable cause to search a car.
Laws are written so you can't really drive a block without breaking a law, Then cops find reasons to arrest one.
Cities need to get out of the Ticketing/locking up people business.
Get rid of Police Unions, Government Unions don't work.
In A town in New Jersey I think, They fired all the police, and brought them back with no Police Union, I'm not sure how that would work in a big city, but that is what needs to be done.
I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but glad to have that off my chest.
