  1. Through various funding channels, taxpayers contribute $53,000 per student each year to educate the students attending UT Austin. For A&M, that number is $22,000 per student. Add in the $10k tuition per student, UT is funded at a level of $63,000 per student. Full rate tuition to attend Rice is $69.5k/yr. UT Austin and Rice are essentially funded at the same level. And then there's A&M. Texas' "value university."
  2. One of my favorite aggy factoids - The annual operating budget of The University of Texas at Austin, which has 37,200 undergrads is $3.6 billion. That is more than The University of Oklahoma (18,600 undergrads/$1.14 billion) and Texas A&M (49,400 undergrads/ $2.1 billion) combined.
  3. What starts here changes the world. Every damned day, every damned game, every damned team, every damned sport. Keep UT Austin at the top of your thoughts, bitches. No other school comes close to approaching the stranglehold UT Austin has on college athletics. We can handle the spotlight. Just keep showing us you can't quit thinking of us. Now, on to Omaha. Show us you are thinking of us. You cannot get away.
  4. I don't know of anyone who has any reaction to "horns down" other than to laugh. To me, it's a sign of mental infirmity on par with "tu" and "whorns."
  5. Pure comedy gold. Another one of those who can't imagine the world could actually be a better place if Texas A&M had prioritized education over cultural indoctrination years ago. "Moral fiber." "aggy medicine." lol. Meanwhile, The Rudder Association members are secreting in the shadows demanding A&M impose upon the students the belief that "them is outbreeding us." The people of Texas deserve better than Texas A&M. "Red necks TF? You mean the ones that produce the food you couldn't do yourself? Those rednecks? The ones that still open doors, say mam, and think of their neighbor as much as their self. Your degradation of the quality of people that set you up to have a good university is disgusting. Think you just answered why the university isn't what she used to be. Thanks for cleaning that up. Being from a rural background doesn't make you a redneck. Many well behaved good country men and women have come through A&M and changed our path of food, fiber, and medicine. Our quality of life would be far lower today had we not had so many red necks come through here. . How can you be so blind? It isn't where you were raised or the clothes you wear that made A&M great it was the moral fiber and work ethic. Now you want to throw shade on those that tend to have that in spades. Change you say? Not all change was good. In no way is this throwing shade at Urban folks as many are great as well but to say that keeping red necks out or lower numbers is a good thing is letting A&M become another sip ville. From this point forward your opinion means little to me. Rednecks?" https://texags.com/forums/5/topics/3296104/last
  6. They've already turned dead students and the Medal of Honor into crass marketing gimmicks. Give them time.
  7. Mike Bynum's Sup Ct petition in his aggy 12th Man copyright infringement case Bynum Sup ct petition.pdf
  8. aggys consider the idea heresy, but the best thing for the school and for the people of Texas would be for a Constitutional amendment to end A&M's legal status as a branch of UT. The aggy insistence they are "just like UT" is holding them back in a way few of them realize. A&M simply doesn't have the financial resources to try to be "just like UT." That will never change. UT receives twice the level of state funding as A&M. UT receives four times the amount of federal funding. UT spends 50% more than A&M on instruction, research, and academic support. A&M's student/ faculty ration is up to 25:1. That is higher than U of H or Texas Tech. One in six graduates from UT did their first two years at a community college. At A&M, that figure is one in three. Almost 80% of UT students were in the top 10% of their high school class. At A&M that figure is barely 50%. If it were possible to deliver a high quality education on the resources allocated to A&M, more institutions would be executing the A&M model. People look at UT Austin differently because they realize UT Austin is not anything like Texas A&M. Not the institution, not the faculty, not the students and not the alumni. What is most telling is that everyone has pretty much figured this out, save and except for the aggys.
  9. Fucking awesome. It has been a while since Texas was firing on all cylinders, but it feels like things are starting to move in a generally positive direction. No brand in college athletics is bigger than Texas. The "horns down" craze that is sweeping college athletics is about to give UT a presence across all college sports that is going to astound even most of us.
  10. I just got asked about college athletics financials. For any school receiving federal funding (including private institutions) annual financials can be found on the Dept of Education website. https://ope.ed.gov/athletics/#/ A much more detailed report is submitted by each NCAA member institution, but those are no in an easily accessible database. I have some of those reports for the years 2016-2020. The reports I have are for most of the largest 40 public university programs.
  11. Part of the sickness that infects aggy culture is the constant need for validation from others. They desperately need to believe they are "just as good" as others. This in itself holds aggys back from their potential. The "Jimbo temper tantrum" about what Saban said is not even the most recent example of this defect. The people of Texas deserve better than Texas A&M.
  12. respond to him with "aggypedia.com"
  13. This, in the minds of aggys, constitutes their "best and brightest." The "keepers of their spirit." Need anything more be said?
  14. This is literally the greatest year in aggy baseball in over a generation. None of the members of the current aggy team have seen this level of "aggy excellence" in their lifetimes. A divisional championship for aggy baseball rightfully has the level of excitement in College Station off the charts.
  15. Wow. Just wow! Evidently since 2017 this clown from Oklahoma as typed "yes" into his own UT hate site. Every day. Without fail. @texassucksdaily
  16. Been reading the responses to Kyle's posting yesterday of the SMU cheerleader/ aggy sword clip. Comedy gold.
  17. A must read for anyone wondering about the two most influential people in current aggy culture. "Keepers of the flame," so to speak. lol. "In a joint 1989 interview with the Abilene Reporter-News, Sharp recalled meeting Perry for the first time freshman year. “When I first saw him, I thought he looked stupid,” Sharp said, referring to the regulation haircut that Perry had received as a freshman corps member. He told Perry so." https://www.texastribune.org/2011/08/02/perry-aggie-years/
  18. Rittenhouse may think that's some sort of white supremecy sign and why he did it, but if so he fell for the same 4chan lulz the mainstream media did...and you as well I assume. Everyone in Texas has seen the actual white supremacist sign. Its the thumb.
  19. I knew that was going to come back at me. Trust me, it was business and not pleasure. And at least it wasn't Nickleback. Knowing the team that operates the Cotton Bowl helps at times. (If the a/c in the OU locker room doesn't work this October, don't blame me.)
  20. I'd never eat at the Cotton Bowl. The state fair food is what I was talking about. As an aside, I met the CEO of the group that is taking over management of Fair Park at the Coldplay concert a few weeks ago. Supposedly they have already raised north of $300 mil for infrastructure projects. Their ambitions are far higher than that. They have brought Live Nation to book concerts in the stadium. Time will tell who they give the food contract to. My guess would be Legends, but that is a matter for another day. Also, I finally got to check out the 8th floor of press box structure. Best view in the house. Even better than the sniper team's spot.
  21. ATT Stadium has the same Arkansas backwoods white trash vibe as the Jones family. And then there's the food. No stadium will ever do better than the food available at Fair Park the weekend of the Texas/OU game. "Inspectors noted that the chef at a cheesesteak and margarita stand was working with sweat dripping from his face on Oct. 1, 2017. Inspectors suggested the employee take routine breaks." "Inspectors found several live roaches during an Oct. 1, 2017, inspection of one vendor." Outlets Inspected 319 total, 149 with high-level violations https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/25316231/health-inspection-reports-find-critical-violations-nfl-nhl-nba-mlb-stadiums-2018-espn-lines#!att-stadium
  22. "Them is buying they's 'cruits 3/4 ton Ford farm trucks to drive around Austin in! I knows that is FACT! That's un-fare! Who can possibly can say no to a farm truck like that?" Whoop!
  23. That would seem to be the clubhouse leader, but there’s a lot of golf still to be played. I’m not even willing to bet what happens with the B12 rights negotiations in 2023, let alone something slated for 2025.
  24. The contract to have the Texas/ OU game at the Cotton Bowl expires in 2025.
