  1. haha, or maybe the takeaway is your posts don't have the influence you think they do :).
  2. I bet Warde knows both the preferred teams and their play signals...
  3. I think we all agree that they should get left out under certain scenarios. I think the argument is over the psyche of the committee and whether they will be left out.
  4. not that it makes a difference but AL was ranked #3 at the time.
  5. I'm kinda over the debate. lol. y'all can go back and look though. this is not a hill i remotely care about dying on.
  6. BCS rankings: Why AP Top 25 Poll withdrew in 2004 - Sports Illustrated This article contradicts your memory. "... Then came the 2004 season, which was marked by two controversies that left Cal and Auburn feeling jilted and put the polls that determined their fate in a burdensome position. Thanks to a late push from voters in the AP and coaches polls resulted in the Texas jumped Cal for the No. 4 spot in the BCS rankings, a week after both teams had finished their regular seasons, which put the Longhorns in position for selection to the Rose Bowl. Three AP voters in Texas flipped their votes in favor of UT following a soapbox speech from coach Mack Brown."
  7. I think the committee puts a 1-loss alabama team who just beat Georgia in with Georgia and eliminates Texas.
  8. why on earth would you root for Alabama? what possible good would their winning do for us? Do you think that would eliminate the SEC from the playoffs? Edit: (on a conference call and my reading comprehension took a hit...) There is no way the SEC is bumped out of the playoffs if Georgia loses to Alabama.
  9. Texas jumping Oregon this week should be the case given our comparable victories over Tech. But alas, we live in an imperfect world so i doubt it happens. I think the two concerns I have are: 1. If Bama beats Georgia, will the committee put both into the playoffs. I think that is very much a possibility, at which point PAC-12, Big10, and SEC are competing for the NC and Big12/ACC are left out. 2. If FSU beats Louisville, regardless of what happens in other conferences, we'll be cockblocked. IMHO, we need a decisive win over OSU, a decisive win for Georgia over Alabama, and an FSU loss. Then we'll have Washington/Oregon, Michigan, Georgia, and Texas in the playoffs.
  10. not sure i'd talk about coaches eating stuff.. but anyway, this guy gets it.. poster from texags:
  11. Lol, A&M has so much money they had to buy their new coach at the Dollar General ...
  12. For those in the Austin area, is Hudson's Meat Market on S. Congress a decent place? Anyone have a fav. butcher in central texas to have their deer processed?
  13. props for watching 29:30 of that claptrap
  14. the best part of all of this... Aggy rushed the firing and hiring cause Texas is on the ascent, entering the SEC, and they panicked...
  15. that's what happens when you brag about how much money you have...
  16. This is absolutely correct^^ An undefeated Georgia is likely the only scenario where only one SEC school gets into the playoff. If Bama wins, both teams will go... Georgia is clearly a number 1 team and the story of how Nick Saban "still has it" will be too good to pass up...
  17. I'm trying to remain optimistic, but you're right. FSU has to lose.
  18. It was the first quarter of mediocre to bad QB play that cost us the game with OU... but regardless... I think we bump Oregon due to comparison with Tech (judges are supposed to consider that).. further, we jump FSU when they lose to louisville next week and if we destroy OSU, boom, we're in. Only one Big10 and SEC team is getting in this year.
  19. Florida must recruit the dumbest people possible...
