  1. Part of the letter this is what is known in the literary world as "fellating:" Right now, we need to focus on moving forward, staying behind our team and cheering like heck to get a win at West Virginia. We then can welcome our Horns home for Senior Day on the Friday after Thanksgiving at 11 a.m. CT versus K-State. I know we're all really disappointed, and there's a lot being said, but this is not a time to splinter or pull apart in any way. We need to stay positive and remain united as a Longhorn Family. We know there are better days ahead, and I know y'all will continue to be the wind beneath our wings to help lead us there. That was obvious with how you turned out and turned up the volume on Saturday as our team fought and came back at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. I would be remiss if I didn't give y'all a huge thank you for the incredible support on gameday. From Bevo Blvd, Smokey's Midway, Longhorn City Limits and all the pregame festivities until the final whistle, you came out in full force, and brought your patented passion, pride and Texas Fight. You hung in there and gave us all you had until the bitter end, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you.
  2. Did this thread turn into "True Busted As A Young'un Confessions"? Okay, here's mine... when I was in 10th grade I bought this patch because I saw another dude wearing a similar one on his jeans (see, for you younger types, we used to sew patches onto our jeans). I completely ignorantly handed it to my mom and asked her to sew it on my jeans. She whopped me across the face and said, "Hell if I'm going sew that garbage onto your clothes! What the hell is wrong with you?" (Shoulda learned how to sew earlier in life).
  3. Edit: While I'm here, here's the only true analysis: 1) Dumb shit went out with gun looking for trouble, he found it. 2) But... dumber criminal shits fucked around and found out. Dumbasses. 3) He's not guilty in any way of murder, jury might find him guilty of illegal parking or some lesser charge.
  4. Some of y'all owe this team an apology!!! I'm sorry - I thought you weren't going to suck this much this year.
  5. I've had to inquire about this, because future DIL is getting married in May, returning from honeymoon in early June, and needs to have name-changed (to our last name) passport for Aug. 31 for a family trip. The scuttlebutt is that the passport renewal system has almost caught up from covid-delays, and things are back to normal more or less... in reality, non-expidited pp's are about 5-6 weeks and expedited 3-4. Sounds like it's about that way from the most recent posts here. In worse-comes-to-worst, get your congressman's ofc to help with it... I know a friend in Virginia who got it done in like 8 hours (he sent away but wasn't there for day of departure). I've had about 4 renewals and in the slowest case (all non-expedited) it was like 4 weeks; a few times it was 2 and yes you always get back your old one with holes in it separately and a week or two before the new one.
  6. LOL, yesterday I said this: Despite quoting myself (which is of course bitchassery, but I digress...), little did I know how true this would be. 2 recruits at ("Don't Pay Any Attention To Those Men Behind the Program" night) apparently greatly entertained by our last play outcome: https://twitter.com/i/status/1459906435161149446
  7. Yeah it takes two or three years just to talk about it never mind teach it. Give the man time. FWIW I played a little DE and LBin high school. Coach told me to knock that guy's ass out of the way and go get the guy with the ball and tackle his ass hard. For some reason, I don't know, that's what I tried to do. But I guess college football is much more complex and takes years to learn to make a tackle. At least a sophisticated brand of three-level chess the Texas plays.
  8. See that guy? Go knock his ass out of the way. See that guy with the ball? Tackle his ass hard. Very tough to grasp that in 3 years, I know. Very tough.
  9. Dad was with him and tried to stay near the back, but still got trampled: Treston held Ezra high on his shoulders as the countdown began to Scott's performance at NRG Park on Nov. 5. The pair stayed toward the back of the crowd because Treston said he thought it would be calmer. But as soon as Travis Scott took the stage, he said that's when people started pushing.Treston lost consciousness and Ezra fell to the ground. At the mercy of concertgoers, the 9-year-old was trampled. When Treston regained consciousness, he could not find his son anywhere. He rushed to on-site medic tents, as well as several hospitals. After filing a police report, he later received a message from an officer that included a picture of Ezra. When he got to the hospital, Treston learned Ezra's major organs had been damaged, his brain was swollen, and he was on life support. https://abc13.com/astroworld-festival-tragedy-ezra-blount-child-injured-at-travis-scott-concert-2021/11236835/ Even so, and he was (I guess) trying to be responscible, I would never, ever put my under-12 kids in the middle of an SRO mob. Never. Ever. Never ever.
  10. Got my audio (with video!) cued up, can't wait!
  11. Well then apparently they're pretty good guessers... Kurt Bowels & others. Bithey didn't break it, it's been out before them for a good 12 hours. Who knows? But it doesn't matter, it says likely out not definitely out. I just hope he gets some rest and doesn't play anymore https://www.si.com/college/texas/news/longhorns-bijan-robinson-likely-out-for-season-injury-update
  12. KVUE just reported "likely out for rest of season." Gawd I hope so...
  13. The Romans also wiped their asses with a sponge - that was left in communal bathrooms - and rinsed off and used by the next guy(s). I know there's a parallel to our current football program in there somewhere
  14. That was maybe the most depressing game to actually attend/watch for sure, but UCLA ended the season as a Top 5 team and won the Rose Bowl (over aggy). So in retrospect the loss to me isn't anywhere near as bad as this one, losing to the somewhere around #122 team in the country - and really 2/3 of the game it wasn't close. This one along with Can't Beat Rice, Just Add Water (1994), is about the worst. No, right now this one is #1 in the worst of all time. We'll see with some time passing.
  15. Hmmmm..... this past week (week ten): Week four: Week five: Week six: Week seven: Week eight: Week nine: Well, at least he showed some diversity this past weekend.
  16. What Has Changed After This Kansas Loss? Uh, Texas' poopy diapers?
  17. My thinking is that the large group of recruits that were there last night will come to Texas. I'm pretty sure they've never had a better time laughing their asses off, and you just can't get that kind of entertainment anywhere.
  18. I saw like three plays. Kansas had pretty cool uniforms except for the cartoon bird. After that, I figured I learned enough and turned it off.
  19. Beating Texas used to be a big deal because we were traditionally one of the best teams in the country in at least two major sports. Now it's just a big deal because we're rich and big. But now we're like the kid who shows up in $500 shoes, wristbands, headband, and $800 prescription goggles but who can't play worth a shit. So they laugh because they beat the rich kid. They don't laugh because he beat a good rich kid. Beating Texas it simply crapping on the name brand, not beating a power team, or even a good team.
  20. Not sure I'm going to watch, I have to cut my nails, but please post as many relevant comments on the team unis in this thread so I can check in. Thanks.
  21. Interesting... my kid's a very serious gamer, like in 20 gaming groups/collectives/whatever and she loves it, says no lag.
  22. I want to believe that we suck so bad that we can't even beat Kansas, but I have this terrible, unshakable feeling that we'll actually win the game. Help me.
