  1. This article touches on the mythology of Columbus. "Columbus became Columbus in the American Revolution—when the colonials sought out an origin story that didn’t involve the British" https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/breaking-down-united-states-historical-obsession-christopher-columbus-180956887/
  2. According to Gunn, the upcoming DCU storyline is going to be based off of Salvation and Checkmate, and there might not even be a Peacemaker season three. Personally, I don't give a shit about the DCU universe so unless there is a season three, IDGAF.
  3. He will be in Moloch's arms by 2028.
  4. There has been some major bloodletting RIF's in the tech industry, starting with Microsoft earlier this year and then Oracle and Intel in the Spring/Summer, both companies laying off thousands of workers not because the employees were being replaced by AI but because of all the CapEX being dumped into AI. Then of course there has been a cascading effect to the contingent workforce, with Accenture and Tata also having mass layoffs.
  5. Wait, are you talking about jerking off?
  6. Exactly.
  7. I've seen this story before.
  8. Because I am mentally challenged, I've been focusing on Generative AI with RAG and Cohere Command R with Python/LangChain to set up a chatbot to answer GRC questions. Basically, I've been feeding it a shit town of NIST/FedRAMP/ITIL/ISO documents for a chatbot to answer compliance questions. Surprisingly, after a few months it's been fairly useful. I mainly use it now to check my questions before running it by my Fed GRC team. Anyway, Yeah FedRAMP moderate, I remember accomplishing that back in the Project Jedi days.
  9. Creative Generative AI is about as useful as my thoughts after smoking a shit ton of pot and drinking booze all night, when I would just start spitting out random words.
  10. Is that Dabo?
  11. Like a lot of people in the industry, I am required to do "something" with AI. No real direction, just do something. I passed down the mandate to everyone in my org earlier this year and a couple of people have come back with some useful things but most have not. There are just so many situations where it doesn't make sense to implement an AI use case that offers any benefit nor justifies the cost. What is funny is that so many people have been mandated to do something with AI and everyone has their own little AI projects, the cost has resulted in a new direction to consolidate AI projects. Shit got too expensive.
  12. No, bat shit crazy is not what you want in a congressional representative.
