  1. If 8 want to leave, can they vote to dissolve the conference? Maybe that is FSU's grand plan?
  2. Isn't the PAC's inclusion as an Autonomous Conference revokable by majority vote just like it was formed? Why wouldn't all the other P5 schools and G5 schools that are not involved in a merger not vote to take that designation away? I don't think these schools can con their way into keeping this special status.
  3. I think the PAC playing the ACC would certainly be more valuable than the current PAC. not sure if the ACC value is increased. The scheduling alliance didn't add any value.
  4. These 4 corner schools are not the biggest names in a conference worth low $20M per school and contractually they get $31M in the Big12 because of the current contract. But don't they devalue the conference (on a per school basis) relative to the next contract? or are some of these schools just going to move around contract to contract?
  5. Prime and Hulu are doing this too. I believe if you have the advanced boxes from Xfinity you can watch several of the streaming services through your cable box (though you are actually streaming the content).
  6. Didn't know about this. Good news for people who can't figure this out.
  7. Things are going to get weird in bars unwilling to deal with streaming when NFL Sunday Ticket is on YoutubeTV this year.
  8. every bar I go to now, when I ask them to change the channel to the Longhorns game, it is very clear they are using a streaming service and not cable or satellite based on the interface I see. But, I live in California, so maybe we are just early adopters. If they are streaming, they have the Apple TV app.
  9. This Pac12 deal is likely not very lucrative, but I will not stand idly by while people pretend streaming isn't better than cable just because they want to get their dunks in!
  10. If a game is on ESPN how do I watch it at a tailgate???? Do I drop a cable run over to the parking lot or do I use the internet?
  11. How come I don't have the internet at a tailgate? Is the tailgate in Cambodia? I have a super computer in my pocket that works as a wifi router is I push a button. it also has the internet on it so I can go to the website and then screen share to my TV. I can watch something on Apple TV while I am in the stands at a football game. Bars won't have Apple TV? How are MLS fans watching games in bars right now? How does this guy get on to twitter if he hasn't figured out how a person can watch something that is streaming on the internet?
  12. meh, I wouldn't subscribe to upside down and backwards caleb's tik tok comedy channel.
  13. so who else you got for that QB spot?
  14. honestly I don't get why the MLS on Apple + is an extra. It should be content to drive people to the platform. Prime isn't charging extra for the football game on Thursdays. I get Apple + with my phone deal and it has some good content. Not sure I ever would have paid for it though I'd probably even watch the MLS games if they were not an additional tier. But I view it as more like MLBTV or NFL Access, Apple+ is just the venue to access the subscription. This could be a workable deal if the PAC content is used to draw traffic and both Apple and the schools share the bounty if there is one. Seems like a hard no for any school if it is a paid subscription service that you need Apple+ just to access. I guess I'm not sure why that would ever be a thing for a nonPro league.
  15. yeah, I meant drop the cable and keep just the internet. Cable TV is way too expensive. Does HuluTV have your RSN? I think it is roughly identical in price to YouTube TV
  16. I don't break the law. But also the one game a year the Horns play football on LHN seems to be the only thing my friends say they can't get on Sportsurge.net. Is that ESPN tightening up the reigns on streaming?
  17. might be cheaper to just get the cable and pick a streamer instead of paying for that Xfinity box. But, depends on what channels you need/want. We have super fast internet alternatives so we come in way under what Comcast is charging for TV for the things we watch. EDIT typo
  18. Streaming is really no more complicated than trying to operate an xfinity box and find the game. I have a roku box because I like the apps better but every TV you buy has an OS on it that has every app imaginable available. What do you do if the Cowboys are on Prime? skip it?
  19. interesting on Apple TV thoughts/ So, do you all get ESPN+ free? because I bet ESPN is going to push as many big12 games to that service as they can now that they get all the Tier 3 content.
  20. Bet on yourself! Include Apple Plus subscription in the annual fees and tuition for every Pac12 student and reap the rewards. Getting on a streaming only platform seems like at least as good of a decision as letting FTX put their name on your stadium or field. /s
  21. Cal never should have done that renovation...For a bunch of "smart" people, throwing $500M at a stadium and athletic center that sit directly on an active fault line when your alumni base is relatively indifferent about the sport seems like you are not using your brain for decision making.
  22. Aren't the Big12 Tier 3 rights in the deal? Big 12 extends media deal with ESPN, FOX - Bring On The Cats
  23. Colorado, the dirty whoring conference breaker is back. Congrats Big 12. Maybe they can get their sister wives at Nebraska to come back...
  24. Is this topic just USC fans airing their grievances every other post now?
