  1. Much improved, but frankly anything would have been better than the garbage they’ve called game day for so long now. TV time out countdown clock was awesome. Still too much jock rock. Still too many ads. Please stop calling BEVO, “the Big Guy”. Bernard
  2. If it runs and drives it's not salvage. Trade it in or sell it on Craigslist. My mom's old Jaguar S-Type crapped out last year. Dead in the garage. I called some dude on Craigslist that buys junk cars. He showed up a few hours later and towed it away after handing me $200. He said they pull the wheels, and cats (maybe s coupe other parts) then send it on to the scrap yard for recycling. Bernard
  3. From the link above... “Officer Hydorn discharges his duty weapon at the suspect, then the suspect attempts to reverse his vehicle. Officer Hydorn discharges his duty weapon again in an attempt to stop the suspect.” Did they just admit that Officer Hydorn shot this guy not because he was in fear for his life, but simply because he wanted to "stop the suspect" from fleeing? No wonder they gave this guy huge bail. Can't have him participating in his own defense. Bernard
  4. You can always do it yourself: https://www.ubuildit.com/offices/texas/houston-galleria/ I wouldn't, but that's just me. Bernard
  5. You beat me to it. What makes it "nicer" than what you're going to build, yet still less desirable? Bernard
  6. Lease? DIY all the way. Or just leave it alone. Bernard
  7. That's more than a chip. Luckily is looks like it just the bumper, not on the body. One option is to just refinish the whole bumper. Should look like new, which may or may not match the rest of your car depending on age and how often you leave it baking in the sun. Go get a bottle of touch up paint from the dealer. Give it a shot. Can't look worse. Refinishing the whole bumper can be plan B. Bernard
  8. I'm sort of with you principle, but I'm also OK with keeping the Jeffery Dahmer, Ted Kaczinski, John Wayne Gacy, Ted Bundy types behind bars from the get go. Those guys are the exceptions though. We need for Joe Six Pack Lawbreaker. It's silly how long some people stay in jail awaiting trial simply because they lack the funds to get sprung. It's not good for anyone, expect those making the profits. Bernard
  9. This. Plus TexasPowerGuide can easily show you how much of premium you'll have to pay to get 100% renewable power if that's your thing. I've had 100% renewable in the past. Then Ogre got me the cheapest. Then Ogre switched me to 100% renewable which also happened to be the cheapest. Then Ogre switched me to away from 100% renewable. At that point I wondered how much more staying green would cost me. With TexasPowerGuide you can see the cheapest overall AND the cheapest 100% renewable and you can decide for yourself if you want to go green. I'm happy to pay a bit more for renewable. How much more? Not sure. Depends on the day. Bernard
  10. The cutoff doesn't even have to change from the current system. Right now the judge decides that plenty of defendants are safe enough to roam the streets as long as the (or their friends/family) have some spare cash, collateral or credit to secure release. Those with the cash go free. Those without the cash stay locked up. Just take cash out of the equation. The judge decides based on the available circumstances if the person will be released before trial. Bernard
  11. No one is saying the judge can't deny bail to certain defendants if they are deemed a flight risk or a danger to society. The whole point of the argument is that right now the deciding factor on release or no-release is whether or not Johnny Defendant can come up with X amount of money to secure his freedom. Bernard
  12. The decision to keep a person in custody should never be based on personal finances. The whole cash bail system is perverse. The time it takes to get to trial after being charged is also absurd. Bernard
  13. He's liable for her debts, but if there's not much in the way of liquid assets, BK is always and option to make the unsecured debts (credit cards, medical bills, etc.) go away. Bernard
  14. I felt the exact same way at first. He grows on you though. Some of his shit is off the rails, but his fasting advise is legit; extreme, but legit. Bernard
  15. As for Energy Ogre, I can mow my own grass (or a bunch of other tasks), but I don't. As for Giddy, it's a straight pass though of wholesale rates in 15 minute increments. If your REP is earning more than $120/year from your account, Griddy is better. If your REP is losing money providing you power, Griddy is more expensive. Also, PowerTo Choose is a beating since so many of the plans are highly engineered to show cheap prices at the 500, 1000, and 2000 kwh breakpoints, but fuck you if you don't hit those exact numbers, which never happens. Rate Grinder will do the Energy Ogre work for you for free. They just ask for a $10 donation. Put your usage history into Rate Grinder and report back to tell us if your spreadsheet kicked out the best plan. Bernard
  16. Since some of you fat asses won't bother to look up the Snake Diet You Tube Channel: Bernard
  17. Holy shit. The student has become the master. 140 lbs is fucking awesome. I got complacent after 85-90 pounds. Maintained it, but I want to go further. Still trying to break a hundred. My ultimate goal right now is 140 pounds, from 324 to 185 at 6'5". BTW. You've been on the Snake Diet without even knowing it. Check out Snake Diet guru Cole Robinson on You Tube. Bernard
  18. Google Texas Electricity Rate Grinder Tool. Or use Energy Ogre. Or Griddy. Bernard
  19. 1. You don't need to power the entire house in an emergency. One AC, TV, WIFI, the fridge and some lights in the same area of the house as the AC should be sufficient. 2. Remind her that it's much cheaper to drive to Austin and check into the Four Seasons (or Aspen / St. Regis) in the even of a power outage that it is to install a generator. 3. Installation is only the starting price. Those things don't maintain themselves. Bernard
  20. Also, pool safety doesn't end with teaching your kids how to swim. Two brothers in Houston died when they decided to put a camping tent in their backyard pool. The tent floated on its own. When the boys jumped into the tent, it sank. They were trapped inside. Died. Bernard
  21. My understanding is that if you don't have a fence or a sign saying keep out, it's not trespassing. Bernard
  22. Yes, and yes, with the exception of removing the fence later. You would be amazed how many neighbor kids will be monitoring whether you are home or not to go swimming. While the fence may not keep out older kids, you will be showing that you are taking proactive measures for safety and your insurance rates may actually be lower. To clarify, I was referring to an additional fence specifically to keep kids away from the pool, but still allow them in the backyard. Unless you live in the sticks, your municipality almost certainly has an ordinance requiring a fence of minimum height to keep neighbor kids from wandering into your backyard on their own and finding their way into your pool.
