  1. I understand that Federal law takes precedence over state laws. I'm just saying this gets real messy. KR had no criminal background when the gun was purchased and had the intent to use it for target practice, not to commit a crime. Are you going to go after every dad in the world for a straw purchase for buying their teenage or younger sons a rifle to hunt with? What if they accidentally shoot someone while hunting? Is the dad now going to prison because he purchased the gun for the kid? In this case, it is determined by a jury Kyle committed no crime by defending himself. His buddy did not buy a gun for a criminal and the state determined it was OK for him to possess the gun....Seems like it would be a real messy case for the FEDs to get involved in.
  2. Could be, Wouldn't it have to go to the Supreme Court though to hash it out? I mean if they determined the State Law allows Kyle to possess the gun but not buy it. Seems like he followed the state law, and it's going to come down to state's rights versus federal laws...I'm pretty sure most states allow people under 18 to possess a gun at least where they have hunting seasons..A lot of states allow 16 year olds to hunt on their own.. Parents, older brothers, uncles, grandpa's, etc buy guns for kids that hunt in their family all the time...Not sure how the Federal laws apply to a friend buying a gun for another friend for target shooting, self defense, or if the Feds would want to set some messy precedent by going through with this..Kyle did not commit murder according to a jury...
  3. Not sure...I just know you have to fill out a form for the Feds with your name to do a background check before you can purchase a gun at a store like Bass Pro or whereever...I don't actually have a piece of paper saying I own the guns I own, but im sure they attach the serial number, make, and model of the gun to the Federal background check form you fill out..
  4. He did admit he gave him the money to buy the gun, but the gun is in his buddies name and was kept at his buddies house...I think the intention was his buddy would keep it until Kyle was old enough to own it, then they would transfer it to his name... How would it be a straw purchase if the gun was in his friends name and stored at his friends house? Seems like a lot of grey areas since the gun was stored at the friends house... He could say he gave his friend the money as a gift for his friend to buy a gun for his friend to use until he is old enough to legally own and store it...
  5. Those prosecutors let their egos get the best of them and failed miserably...They had no reason to bring the charges they brought, just pure dumbass on their part....Only shot they had was to trip Kyle up on the stand, and when that didn't happen, they were sunk like the Titanic... Imagine if there had been no video evidence, they might have twisted this kid up bad and put him away. We should be applauding the fact that our Justice system worked right for once, not shaming the victim for defending himself....
  6. Yes, the jump kick dude.
  7. Maybe KR was a responsible gun owner and took a self defense training course.. He's not some kind of criminal mastermind, the kid just beat what were BS charges to begin with. Why do you think the prosecutors looked like total morons? They had nothing, never should have even brought the charges or took this to trial based on the evidence they had. They rushed to file charges before even having time to review the evidence and talk to witnesses. It was all F'd up from the beginning..They even tried to cover up the fact they knew one of the witnesses names that the Defense was looking for because the witness would have hurt the prosecutions case even further...
  8. The evidence wasn't limited by the defense. It was limited by the Prosecution because it would have helped KR's self defense case even further. For instance, the prosecution knew all along who the dude was that tried to jump kick him in the face and would not give the name to KR's attorneys... How is what KR did a crime if in fact the only reason he was there was to help protect a business, give first aid, and put out fires? Maybe he honestly did only bring the gun for protection and the so called protestors where the ones looking for trouble that night? Why should they be exonerated from their actions on that night and the nights leading up to the incident?
  9. Gee, I don't know...Public lands = Federal Judges...Protected animal issues on public lands end up in Federal Courts...
  10. The players are the difference. Without Kyler and Dhop, Kliff would be on a smoking hot seat. Kylers running ability and Dhops amazing ability to be open all the time has got them a lot of wins...
  11. Go to any hunting forum on the internet and you will find plenty of people bitching about wolves....It's mostly that there were no studies done before releasing them on the impact of the environment and no plan to manage them...Everyone points to Yellowstone as the study, but Yellowstone is not like any other forest in most of the west. It is pristine untouched wilderness, where as most of the places they release these wolves have farms, ranches, developments, timber cutting, etc...Actually, the timber cutting and roads for timber cutting gives wolves advantages in hunting ungulates they never had in the past before our ancestors killed them off. Trying to get a Liberal Federal Judge to allow a hunting season on them is damn near impossible and they reproduce like damn rabbits...
  12. I much prefer the typical hunter way over the dudes that constantly go to the shooting range with their AR's and pistols to burn up buckets of ammo. That's not to say everyone who owns an AR or pistol is a bad person with criminal intentions. I run into more of the AR/pistol owner type guys though in the gun range and especially the deserts out here in AZ that are very careless and wild with their guns and just seem to have a different mentality about gun ownership..I mean I buy a gun as a hunter hoping/ praying I would never have to use it to defend myself or my family against another human being..I think some of the AR/ pistol dudes dream about that though...I watched my dad struggle for years with PTSD from having to kill people in war, I don't want any part of that..
  13. There's a war on gun owners that are hunters all over the country. Look at the West, they are trying to re-introduce wolves all over the place and so far it has been disastrous for hunters...Herds of elk and deer have declined by the thousands in a lot of areas where they have been re-introduced...A lot of people think it's a ploy to get rid of guns. If there is no game to hunt, then why do you need a gun? I have no problem with gun control or even a little stricter gun control than we have now, but it seems like they are going after the wrong kind of gun owners, the low hanging fruit...I know many hunters that don't even own AR's nor care to own one because they are not really useful for hunting or they'd rather spend the money on a nice hunting rig..
  14. I never said none of it would be exported to other countries...My point is do you really think the US would not benefit from and receive some of this oil for having the pipeline running all the way across our land? Do you think if we did not benefit from it in some way if it were up and operational that our government could not step in and make it happen?
  15. Shipping the oil to China is just DEM politician talking points they've used for years now to get everyone against the Pipeline...Do you really think we would have this massive Pipeline built all the way across the US and only foreign countries would benefit from the oil in it?
  16. It's hard to quantify the damage done by shutting down the Keystone XL pipeline construction...You, me, or nobody else has any ideal how many fossil fuel development, and investment projects that pipeline could have led to in the future... What we do know is we are not anywhere close to meeting our energy needs with renewable energy, green options, etc...We are barely even putting a dent in it with renewables and won't be anywhere near meeting the demand for decades so why would Biden shutdown the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline when we could eventually get cheaper oil from our friendly neighbors instead of having to beg OPEC and Russia to increase production?
  17. Trump asked Opec to increase production to hurt Russia (same thing Reagan did), he didn't need to go crawling on his knees to beg them to make his administration look better...
  18. Fire most of the defensive staff and PK for sure. And, fire the strength and conditioning coach. Most of the players have no strength, endurance, speed, stamina etc. Recruit a real QB or get one by transfer...
  19. It was a great job setting Kyle free...A better job than calling very unpeaceful protests "peaceful" and not arresting protestors committing criminal acts at these "peaceful" protests...
  20. Where do you see he only ended up with 25K? He was sueing some of these news outlets like the Washington Post for 250 million dollars...You are saying they settled out of court for chump change? I've never read the exact figures he got, but saw an interview with himself and his lawyer they basically hinted that he is set for life.
  21. You're right. Concealed carry with lots of training is a better option...
  22. That Sandman kid made bank sueing news outlets for Slander...The kid with the MAGA hat that had the Indian pounding the drum in his face..CNN apparently did not learn the lesson and will probably hear from Kyle's lawyers..
  23. Had the government / Cops did their job, the whole situation probably could have been avoided altogether.. I mean it was a dumb concept also to let people say they were "peacefully protesting" back then when they were clearly looting, rioting, destroying businesses, and private property. They weren't as out of hand that specific night as they had been the nights before, but surely you can understand why people woild get frustrated enough to want to do something to try to protect their community when the government and police force were not? The whole situation was messed up honestly...
  24. Have you thought of the precedent it would set if they find someone guilty of murder, when the prosecution has so little evidence, has done so little to take away any doubt that this was not self defense? Even the witnesses they brought in did not really support the prosecutions argument and did not do enough to prove that the kid was doing anything other than defending himself. The video doesn't help much either.. Forget about ever trying to use the self defense argument in the future if you can be convicted based on public opinion and rumors...
  25. My point is, the prosecution didn't prove squat. They sure as heck did not prove he was there for anything other than to provide first aid and put out fires. That's what the jury has to base their verdict on, what they saw in the trial. Not what everyone in the media or social media says...
