  1. No, Chase treated me awful constantly reminding me about that OU loss to Texas the weekend before. Brutal.
  2. Troubadour Music/BBQ Festival in Celina this weekend. Anyone going?
  3. Man I've heard the commercials and some talk on the car dealership BBQ joint. So it's legit huh? That HEB was nuts yesterday from all reports. When they open the one in North Plano hopefully that will help settle down the folks a little bit. BBQ Snob said it's getting a BBQ joint in it also.
  4. How about Terry Blacks opening a new location in Lockhart? I knew I had read that the owners of Terry Blacks and the original Blacks weren't social anymore but to think you open up a new location in Lockhart is pretty ballsy.
  5. That HEB plate; the sausage looks like it was warmed up in the oven. Hopefully it tasted smoky. HEB about to open up here in Frisco/Allen area gonna be happy be able to go in there and source some meats.
  6. Anyone going to Troubadour Fest in Tyler this weekend? Lots of BBQ Joints and they got buy one get one tickets on sale now. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2022-troubadour-festival-tyler-tickets-363110753037
  7. I didn't know they closed up shop. At once point he was going to expand and open a burger joint across the street. Is he still doing that or is he completely out?
  8. Was that Smithville not handling it or completely pandemic related you think? Mickelwaithe is one of my go to spots when I'm in Austin. Not every town is going to support craft bbq.
  9. I'm sure it was discussed on here with the expansion talk but saw 2M opening a second location. A 3 million dollar project would scare me to death. https://www.mysanantonio.com/food/article/san-antonio-2m-smokehouse-barbecue-17379133.php
  10. Should have gone to Slaughters when in that area. He does good stuff. https://www.slaughtersbbqoasis.com/
  11. If you've never been to one of these or Troubadour, etc. You basically get a bite or two at each place you visit. So it might be a taco or a quarter of a sandwich, etc. So it's really one of those things where you get to enjoy a wide variety. You also start to get picky because everyone has sausage and then you find that one joint who's serving a taste of banana pudding. I see folks carrying those trays, etc. I don't get it. Just wander from station to station eating your food on the way to the next and enjoying it while it's warm and fresh.
  12. Why are BBQ joints not recreating these with leftovers? Seems like it would be a brilliant and easy way to use up leftover meats.
  13. Had the brussels last time I was at Stiles Switch and really liked them.
  14. microwave your garlic about twenty seconds and it peels easily
  15. I swear they are going to raise prices until the lines stop, then pull them back just a little.
  16. If you want some Sunbird BBQ they will be set up in Dallas this Sunday for Father's Day. https://twitter.com/sunbirdbbq/status/1537211870557483010?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1537211870557483010|twgr^|twcon^s1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fpublish.twitter.com%2F%3Fquery%3Dhttps3A2F2Ftwitter.com2Fsunbirdbbq2Fstatus2F1537211870557483010widget%3DTweet Yes I'm an idiot and can't figure out how to insert a link.
  17. Railhead is solid. Reminds me of what BBQ used to be, ribs good french fries and sauce. Not gonna turn a lot of eyes on Instagram but dang happy when you leave. They has some huge schooners of beer too.

  19. There's also one at Plano Road and Buckingham. SW corner in a gas station parking lot. It works consistently (better than Arapaho and Shilo)
  20. Here's a little on Sunbird.. https://jayarnold.substack.com/p/barbecue-bets-and-beats-0520?utm_source=email
  21. Nah they gonna rise like a Phoenix. Just a bump in the road.
  22. Rudys breakfast tacos are delicious.
  23. I can never find a boneless turkey breast. I know that's what most bbq joints use, anyone know where to find them?
  24. I've only been to Hard 8 like twice (Colony location) and both times the free beans saved the meal. It's a tourist trap type place and if you have predominantly had Rudys and Dickeys as your bbq for your life I can see how you may be impressed. But if you've been to an elite joints Hard 8 isn't even competing as far as the food is concerned.
  25. Damn, that chicken looks amazing.
