  1. The best time to buy BTC was 10 years ago. The second best time is today. The typical way these runs go once BTC breaks highs is BTC run, Eth run, Alts run. Hopefully your alts hold up vs BTC and Eth before they go on their run. And hopefully you picked ones that go big.
  2. fuck yes. It’s on. Can’t wait to see how far we go. I checked the price at a stop light and basically re-enacted the scene from Goodfellas when Henry hears on the radio about the Lufthansa heist coming through. Congrats to all that have stuck around and taken the lumps!
  3. Nope. They work about as well as getting infected, without all the dying risk. No. You would only need to provide record of positive PCR test or a one time positive nucleocapsid antibody test. You’re still provided protection even after antibodies are gone. Same with vaccines. Do you think we should be tracking double vaxxed people’s antibodies? The implications are thus, a portion of the population is being excluded and some forced out of work for no reason. They are similar to double Pfizer vaxxed, almost certainly superior to J&J vaxxed. That doesn’t make any sense to me. It will to y’all. Whatever.
  4. Here you go my man. I’ll cross post it over here. National infection survey and data analysis in Uk finds that during last delta wave, natural immunity was equivalent to Pfizer vaccination. https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/healthandsocialcare/conditionsanddiseases/articles/coronaviruscovid19infectionsurveytechnicalarticleimpactofvaccinationontestingpositiveintheuk/latest
  5. Holy shit, those people in their cars
  6. I’m not here to argue because nobody here will be convinced, but I could not let this assertion go unchallenged. I’ll start by saying no one should attempt to get Covid rather than just getting vaccinated. If you haven’t had it then it makes all the sense in the world for the vast majority of people to get vaccinated. But the latest analysis from the Uk’s office of national statistics found that natural immunity from Covid infection alone was equivalent to being vaccinated with Pfizer during the most recent delta wave. https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/healthandsocialcare/conditionsanddiseases/articles/coronaviruscovid19infectionsurveytechnicalarticleimpactofvaccinationontestingpositiveintheuk/latest Now you and others will say it doesn’t matter and people should still lose their jobs over not getting vaccinated following a natural infection. That’s fine we’ll just have to disagree. The world will keep spinning.
  7. Fossil fuel investment is down. You’re right that investors are concerned about decreased returns. Part of that is recent results and part of it is forward looking. A good way to deter investment into a sector is to have governments cancel large projects or introduce new constraints to future projects. You’re right. Renewables have not taken up the slack. In that European report that WashPark shared it stated that completed green energy installations have underperformed projections. It’s going to be a balancing act as we transition from predictable, reliable fossil fuel generation to a “net zero” grid. If we pull out of fossil fuels too fast there will be further volatility.
  8. 1% is too conservative. I’d say 5% is the minimum allocation if you’re open to it at all. in other news...
  9. Ima eyelind boyA
  10. Wtf is going on. The tattoos make me think these are real, actual humans.
  11. This is big @Hugo Stiglitz
  12. I don’t know if this is the right thread, but I can’t believe this is a sport.
  13. Hey there buddy. You’re posting pretty early. You shouldn’t be distracted from your main morning task. Making sure CTJ’s eggs are just how he likes them. Looks like we’re gonna need more free market capitalism in the form of green energy subsidies and anti fossil fuel regs to fix this problem.
  14. If there was an obvious increase in supply coming in response to the price increase that would be fine, but it’s not going to be the case. Markets price in the future. Drilling permits approved by the Interior Department down 75%. Then the other regulatory hurdles that are being put up. The O&G industry is operating in a hostile environment.
  15. Hope this helps. Cmon Jimmy you dabble In investing. You know that chart shows something breaking out of a decade long base. We’re going quite a bit higher and that’s why Biden is reaching out to O&G cos. As we attempt to transition to a more volatile green energy electric grid there’s going to be some uncertainty and growing pains. When you actively discourage fossil fuel drilling you’re responsible for their low supply and high prices. That’s obvious. Dems will have to work on their messaging around that. Not sure there’s a great answer tho tbh.
  16. For sure. But if Captainant were stuck in CR he would spend his time tagging people there, trying to get their attention. Kind of like a monkey throwing shit at the zoo. He already spends a good bit doing that.
  17. I can’t believe I missed this for almost a month. An excellent piece on Bitcoin that has some great suggestions about how the USG can work with bitcoin going forward.
  18. The nearly 50% of American homes that heat with natural gas will have a 30% increase in their bills. And if the administration didn’t think the gas prices were a problem do you think they’d go to an industry they’ve actively combated to ask for help? Please. I’ll let them know at white house.gov that Jimmy Jazz on Surlyhorns CR forum says it’s no big deal.
  19. Don’t forget about the American energy shock as well. Sounds like POTUS is more concerned with the gas price issue than the CR intelligentsia. It’s probably nothing. https://www.politico.com/amp/news/2021/10/13/white-house-biden-gas-prices-515957 Some nice heating price hikes this year for people. “High class” problems I believe is what they’re calling this. https://www.wsj.com/articles/a-winter-of-giant-gas-bills-is-coming-are-you-ready-11634203801?mod=article_inline
  20. What does “police itself” mean? These Senators are accountable to their constituents. Not in some idealistic way, but in that they’re selfish individuals that want to keep their kush jobs.
