  1. This guy seems to hold the douche crown among all of the LSU reporters. The level of smugness was nauseating. (before anyone freaks out that was from a week ago)
  2. I’m sure Auburn, LSU, A&M et al have a few slides on net present value and discounted future cash flows to counter this.
  3. This is one of the most unsubtle call outs I can remember from IT. Most of the time it seems like the recruiting industry dances around this for fear of upsetting someone.
  4. The funniest part of all of this is that after Gipson picks Clemson, all of the 247 sites are going to look to Roach like he’s some kind of sagely veteran of the industry with great sources. Pining after his wisdom like an Outback Steakhouse version of Buddha
  5. It is never not going to be weird seeing this…
  6. At the risk of extending the stupidity from this morning, you should assume this will be Murphy’s last year…and that is a GREAT thing for Texas because it means he crushed it on the field. One of the former players could not say enough good things about Murphy. Great work ethic, great teammate, doesn’t blow off the student portion of student athlete, and most importantly he’s talented. He’s not leaving to be a 7th round pick just because he’s draft eligible and is tired of playing school. When he leaves it’s going to be after a great season when he has a fourth round + draft grade. Stop hand wringing because the portal still exists and Texas had an upward trajectory even with an 8 win season. That’s my limited info and analysis. So most likely this will be a freezing cold take in 5 months.
  7. Looks like the recruiting dynamic in the state of Texas is changing yet again. More and more the best players the state produces are looking away from Lubbock and are looking at what’s building at Texas.
  8. Blowing the entire 247 per diem at a Nacogdoches Applebees is probably a major perk of the role.
  9. Well, shit. Maybe I am just too used to team message boards that lack the mental capacity for sarcasm and self depreciation. No comment
  10. Tangentially related to UT recruiting, but even though USC is more of a competitor it is still pretty funny to watch Nebraska shoot itself in the foot. https://www.on3.com/db/dylan-raiola-147035/
  11. To your credit, Georgetown Law is a premier authority in what does not constitute a destination law school. Really digging deep into the thesaurus for this one. Much like legal writing, shitposts should be in plain English.
  12. @immamac - let us know when to expect the Burnt Endz capital call
  13. I’m not sure we’ll see a 4-wide set work out like this if we have to take Sanders off the field. More likely it would be our five wide set. Maybe they work in some packages with Whittington in the backfield to allow the flexibility of multiple looks while maintaining a plausible run threat. But that’s approaching Ian Boyd levels of wishcasting.
  14. Drew Hughes, who was somehow good enough to survive the Urban Meyer purge and is now in his second year with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
  15. I see a lot of descriptions of our linebacker commits refer to them as “off-ball” linebackers. As a casual fan who does not want to venture to the football board and has been afraid to ask: what does this mean and what is the difference with an “on-ball” linebacker?
  16. Come on now, this is low effort, in bad taste and disrespectful to our current & future students. What starts here changes the world, and we are better than this.
  17. Shocked they found actual game footage of him to use for the photo…
  18. Yeah that is a very weird tagline. Could have referenced his role as productive jumbo TE. Probably not the right place to discuss this, but I’m curious to see which of the 22’s the staff use to replace him in the bowl game.
  19. Ugh. Yes, I’m sure the all of the other recruits are going to ignore Arch and Baxter and flip to Houston because this one charismatic DE from humble is there preaching the praises of Landry’s seafood.
  20. I am continually floored by how good Kyle Flood is at his job and what a stark contrast he has been from the past 16 years of Texas offensive line coaches. How often have we seen Texas identify a prospect before TCU or Baylor? Noting the normal caveats that he still hasn’t hit campus yet and careers are unpredictable, Cojoe is looking like another positive data point. One of the reasons that he is still committed here despite our heavy depth chart is that Flood has always recruited him the hardest, especially early in the year when no one else wanted him. Holgorsen and his staff didn’t think he could ever see the field. Baylor and TCU weren’t pushing, and either SMU or tech was probably the runner up when he commuted to Texas. Now, all of these schools are trying to sneak back in but hopefully it is too late.
  21. Last cycle, Arkansas was one of the schools that (allegedly) was aggressively recruiting kids before they hit the portal. I seem to recall Drew Sanders having followed the entire Arkansas coaching staff on Twitter before entering the portal. Hopefully our staff wont be working with as big a handicap this go around.
  22. So you’re saying she’s not going to let him drift around aimlessly?
