  1. FWIW we want to have something like this built in to our platform eventually
  2. Going to shoot you a PM. Help with graphics/animation and front end development (js/react) would be much appreciated
  3. Correct, we're building on Flow rather than using an ethereum marketplace. It's just a lot more scalable
  4. Heard about this thread elsewhere on surly, thought y'all would be interested I'd be interested to hear your feedback as people that are in tune with the NFT world
  5. Potentially. Overhead is low (we're not taking a cut currently) so the only driver for outside funding would be to accelerate the addition of players (i.e. to cover their signing bonuses). I do have one source for that but I'm open to talking about other options. I had been thinking about doing this. Happy to share more details and it would be great to have another place to get feedback on designs and stuff. We have a discord for that currently but it's my understanding that some people have lives away from their computers. I don't have 100 posts so I can't access the NIL talk forum. @immamac could you hook me up? The contract can't extend beyond their participation in the program. So for us, when a guy leaves the program, we stop producing new NFTs of them, using them for marketing, and pay out any unpaid royalties. Peer-to-peer sales continue, but the contract is terminated. It would get unruly keeping up royalty payments for thousands of guys after a couple years anyways, but I do have some ideas for alternatives. That's something for the other thread.
  6. Yep, our players get a signing bonus, royalties on primary sales, and royalties on re-sales. Unfortunately, NIL contracts have to expire when players leave the program. We're exploring workarounds so that guys can still benefit after leaving campus. ETA: I don't mean to clog up this thread but I trust y'all will tell me to stfu when the time comes.
  7. That's a pretty sick edit. We just announced our first player signing this morning - Ivan Melendez. The football guys have been harder to get ahold of, though I see that Bijan has an email in his insta profile now so I'll reach out. I don't really consider other NFT projects as competition (more on that below) so good for him. This is the slide from our proposal to players/agents that we use to explain NFTs. It's simplified but that's the gist of it. This is the NFT video explanation and blockchain video I link in there. We're developing on Dapper Labs's blockchain, Flow, because NoName is right when he says it's way ahead of the pack. They have Top Shot with the NBA and just announced a new partnership with La Liga to create a similar project. We're having to build our app from scratch but I think it will be worth it. I don't want to get too technical, but Flow is just the best blockchain option for NFTs. If you want to buy a $20 Bijan card from Candy, you could end up paying a $30+ blockchain fee to do so and then wait a couple hours for it to appear in your wallet. Once we get up and running (in about a month hopefully), you'll be able to buy packs for $5-20, all taxes and fees included, and it should be processed quickly. That's why I don't consider other NFTs as competition. We'll have a scalable platform for all Texas players, not just the stars. Our royalty % for players is 2-3X what leagues like the NFL and NBA get for licensing deals (and will rise once we can build some capital). Our license is non-exclusive, so guys like Bijan are free to sign other NFT deals that might have higher price points like Candy. I consider those products to be more analogous to signed jerseys whereas ours are more like traditional trading cards - affordable, scalable, and inclusive. And we have plans for gamification so that you actually interact with your NFTs and they have value beyond sitting in your collection. I haven't reached out to him yet but this type of NFT content is something we have discussed
  8. Hey y'all, hope that it's ok to post this here My main account is a surly 10% member (with no CR rep inflation!) and burnt ends member but I wanted to have a level of separation for this I've been working on an NIL project of my own and we just launched this morning: niftyhorns.com I've spoilered a longer explanation but the tl;dr is that we're creating digital trading cards for Texas athletes. We'll be starting small but eventually it'd be great to include as many student athletes as possible. And our pack structure is going to allow for everyone to make money, from the stars to the walk-ons to non-revenue athletes Appreciate y'all checking it out
