  1. No, I believe Stroh is a RS-SO.
  2. And he got even bigger in the NFL. Their weight and conditioning in the pros moves around your muscles differently than what they do in college due to it being 265 days a year of training if they're smart. They only have so much time in college, obviously. Michael Griffin was pretty jacked in college, but once he was put in an NFL S/C, he looked insane as a pro. Same for Earl Thomas, who as a RS-SO and a rookie, was lanky af, but he got jacked.
  3. What do mean "bigger"? I'm honestly asking because Parson's is 250lbs of solid muscle, while Simmons is 240 and still filling out. Once Simmons gets to the league, yeah, I expect him to probably get closer to Myles Garrett in weight (not quite 270, but closer to 260-ish). He's a big kid, but if you look at him and look at Parson's, there's just a massive difference in weight and frame. But like I said, he'll be bigger once he gets into an NFL weight and conditioning program.
  4. Personally, as a fan of CBB as much as CFB and CBBaseball, I can can find a game. Yeah, I won't disagree that the game has changed largely for worst since the G-league came into existence, but now that those guys can return to college I think it will pick up again. I still remember when they took away the privilege for kids to jump straight to the NBA (thank God because Durant wouldn't be a legend here otherwise), and it caused people to complain because of of one and dones being a revolving door, but people adjusted years later and it got great. Same for the transfer portal. I'm jealous both UF and UConn have won NC's because of the portal, but I'm hoping at some point we can get to there. Florida was just like us until Billy Donovan, so it can happen, and the same with Villanova before Jay Wright. We can get there, it just takes an actual intelligent coach, good recruiting, now good portal usage, and most of all, luck. This is just how I see it, personally. I still love it. Got to watch our women's team last night, tonight we get to see how Miller and co do against Duke (win or lose, I'm glad we're not pussies who are afraid to schedule anyone in any invitational). The Florida/Arizona game last night was awesome to watch. Seeing Zona beat UF was not something I expected, which is what's (this is just my personal opinion) better about CBB than CFB- you get to see way more upsets, you get so many more games, and it falls perfectly in-between CFB and baseball, and extends into March-early April. Outside of really good match ups right now, CBB is better. Had LSU held up its end of the bargain, Saturday night Bama/LSU game would have been epic, now it's just meh. We're on a bye, and the tech/BYU game is dumbfuckingly at 11AM (absolutely abominable, imo. Should be a night game instead of the Bama-LSU dreg game now). Plus Saturday we get to see Texas men's CBB at 2pm, and switch between that and the Oregon-Iowa game, then if you don't want to watch the Bama nut over the face against the morons, or ND-Navy (it's tradition, so I'll be flipping back and forth), you can catch the Mich St vs Arky CBB game (love watching Izzo go to work, and Calipari at Arky now is...interesting). If you want to stay up late, you can catch Gonzaga take on ou in CBB at 9:300pm, instead of watching literally the dregs of CFB on the West Coast play. Friday we have our women's team taking on #24 Richmond at 7PM. So as you can see, to me, I think it's just perfectly set up. I understand why some people don't like it or enjoy CBB anymore, I do. But you (not you, specifically) kind of have to move with the ebbs and flows of sports in the world these days. We went from zero NIL and bitching about the BCS just 10 years ago, to bitching about the CFP selection, and now we're 4 years into bitching about NIL. Some things will never change, and that's bitching about literally anything.
  5. This, exactly. We were wondering if he was having a soph slump. Nope. Dude was just getting warmed up and did it at the right time. Had he been doing what he's doing right now, he would have probably 15-16 sacks, but it's moot at this point. I'm just glad he's back to his old form. We better enjoy he and Ant Hill for the rest of the season and Simmons next, because they're top 5-10 picks with absolute certainty. Hopefully Atkinson can come in and make an impact like Hill day 1.
  6. Bro, did you not read where I jokingly said it just made me laugh and feel better because we lost to fucking Billy Napier, so it made me feel better just to throw that in? It's a bowl game, no one cares. Most teams in lower bowls don't even play their good players, it would be utterly stupid when said player is young and is an impact player, unless they're a frosh and can use the game for extra practice. If it's not the CFP, don't risk playing stars or future stars, even when they're just Soph and will leave after next season. Sure, as a fan I want to see the best players out there, but as close to being human as I can be I also would rather see them next season not in crutches. It's CFB and literally anything can happen (see our RB room from last year, and that was just spring summer).
  7. The story about one of his neighbors with no arms fighting with his neck gets me every single time. The neck lurch 😂
  8. Very great, and well-informed, level headed breakdown. I had never heard that about Beae, either, but honestly, this is where being in the spectrum has its advantages, amongst a myriad of other things. But being basically a human target and not getting rattled is completely different. I dislike McGuire, but not tech itself, just want to make that clear. You guys have had some awesome players over the years, and I enjoyed every game I've been to. I've never been harassed or yelled at, and have met some really awesome tech grads through my cousins and friends, who are fellow grads. If it were literally anyone else coaching y'all, much like Briles (albeit far, far much different circumstances regarding the two, quite obviously), I would actually go back to a game. But, I won't. However, I will be pulling for you guys to get to the CCG, and even the CFP because, as you said, I want to see the measuring stick between what McGuire cn do with the talent against someone else with either equal or even lesser, but still a threat (think Jeanty-led Boise St last year). It will be interesting. Really pissed it's not a night game on Saturday. That's absolutely tragic. Lubbock at night is something completely different. It's like cursed or something. I call it Monkey Paw stadium at night. It's crazy, weird, and fun as hell when you're playing a team that's (via polls) equally ranked.
  9. Have you checked how many children have passed away since Kelly was fired? I imagine those numbers have spiked.
  10. Ant Hill will be a top 10 pick this coming draft. We will miss him so much. Hopefully Bo Barnes and especially Atkinson can be what Hill is. He has all the talent in the world, he just needs reps and learning the speed of the game.
  11. It's literally the only thing they can do to contain him. I can't even count how many clotheslines he had against Vandy, it was insane.
  12. He is too 8 in the nation in sacks with eight, correct? I know an A&M player has like 9 (I can't remember who), but they've been against the sisters of the poor. Texas leads the nation in sacks with 34. Simmons hasn't even leveled up yet. He will feast on Arky and Aggy for sure, and I'm sure he will have at least one sack against UGA. Honestly, I'm just glad he has help with Burke taking the next step so teams can't just focus on Simmons.
  13. I randomly checked the Texas vs aggy game, and they havs aggy as the underdog at #3 currently lol. Even ESPN, who employ the developmentally delayed, know that aggy is far, far over ranked and have played literally nobody, while it shows we've beaten two top-10 teams. It still has us as underdogs to Georgia (for obvious reasons), but I actually don't think we'll lose like I did earlier in the season. They're a really good team, but extremely flawed, and their QB, Stockton is average. Good RB room, but OK WR'S. Cash needs to be covered at all times, he's sneaky af. Obviously watch out for Stockton running, but he's not a big guy, so they should probably let him know he's going to get wrecked if he runs into our DE's and LB's. He's not 24 and built like a wrestler. A la Pavia. Defense is sokid, but if we can just be slightly above average we have the advantage with Wingo, Mosley, Washington, Moore, and Jagger, and Arch's running. But we have to get a running game going. It can't just be Wisner taking the bulk, we need Baxter to step up in a big way. Fuck, even get Simon involved for all I care. Just literally get a running game going to balance it out. Defensively, we're pretty even across the board, although we have better LB's and Edges, not sure either team has elite front DL, but both have big mf'ers who will and can get to the QB in a hurry. I liked our OL lineup we had against Vandy, and I hope we stick with them. Sarkisian needs to not panic and just dumb down the plays and don't do fucking trick play bullshit. I think the game will be close, like a 3 pt difference. Neither team is scoring more than 24.
  14. I am sad we are three-quarters already through the season. That's a bummer. We waited for 182 years for it to finally arrive, and poof!, it's already coming to a close. I don't care about the NFL or their playoffs. The NFL is boring unless my team is playing. Indiana is fucking awesome and I love it! They are absolutely a top 5 team. I can see them making the semis, and depending on who they match up against, I can also see them making the NCG. Can they win it? Not sure, but I don't bet against Cignetti. It would be the biggest NC game winner of all-time. Unranked-2/3* recruits to winning it all would be absolute heroin.
  15. Yeah, we play Duke tomorrow at 8, but tonight will still be fun. I'm glad CBB season is back. It gives us fans something to watch along with football, and then baseball in February. It's like the perfect spot for the games. If no teams are worth watching in CFB, I guarantee you can find a CBB game worth watching. It's beautiful.
  16. I just wanted to throw Sam Pittman beat Joey Mcguire in his third year coaching. It makes me feel better after Billy Napier fucked our faces.
  17. I'm finished. Got worked up, I'll admit it. Tbh, after I hit submit, I completely forgot I even went on a drooling rampage. It was 'click', OK what can I do before basketball tonight?
  18. Jon Gruden is an average coach at best, and he won a SB with Tony Dungy's roster, then he managed to completely dismantle it and they finally fired him. He's just Jeff Fisher with a weird erection for talking schemes. His regular season record is 117-112, and adding the postseason it goes to 122-117. He's mediocre, and I'm being kind. Just because someone eats, sleeps, drinks, urinates, shits, dreams of football 24/7 doesn't make them a good coach. Gruden fucking sucks lol. I'm not even thankful for the SB win we got in his first year. Dungy should get an honorary ring for putting that roster together for him.
  19. UF: That Florida team has more talent in its two-deep than tech has on either side of the ball. It's a coaching issue witth Florida, not a talent issue. We lost to a team that had as much talent as we did, with a QB who happened to be ahead of Arch in learning since he played in real games, and he's not some 3* kid punching above his weight. He was the #3 overall player in the country and #1 QB. He has high 4/5* WR's he's throwing to, and a run game. Shouid we have beaten them? Based on record ar the time, yes. But Sarkisian got out-coached, which has already been an issue, we had the worst OL in the country because Flood, but we can't say we lost to a team with lesser talent. That same talent took Georgia to the wire. Transitive property or not, that team has the skill to beat anybody if they had a modicum of coaching. Miss St: And again, getting out-coached has been a problem, but Lebby can coach, we see that, and the blame goes to both Sark, Flood, and PK regarding Mississippi State, but the heart of our defense, our defensive QB, Taaffe was out, and it shows how much he's needed. Regardless, the Mississippi State offense is miles better than tech, but defensively, yeah, they're fucking abysmal. This same Mississippi State offense somehow has Brennan Thompson with over 700 yards receiving and 6 TD's. Yes, the same Brennan Thompson who was a pussy at both Texas and ou. He has 100 more receiving yards than our #1. They also have two RB's with close to 500 yards a piece, combined with 13 TD's between the two. 3 players who have 19 offensive TD's. I would say that's a pretty fucking impressive considering what they were last year. It's embarrassing that we had to come back and go to OT against them because our offensive was more necrotic than a body Ted Bundy keep going back to for pleasure. UK: Kentucky, yeah I've got nothing. That's just inexcusable, but the Arch from that game and the CTE Arch we have now are miles apart, as is the OL. Every team has a game where they're arguably punching below their weight and playing to the same level, which again, Sark loves to do for whatever reason. I will call this our mulligan game, but realistically Arch and the OL had no rhythm as we were starting a true frosh tackle at G for the second time (really the first since his start against UF didn't come until the 3rd when Sarkisian knew he was getting clowned by a then fixing to be fired coach, but the defense showed up against a frosh who was 31/39 248 and an INT, while Arch was an embarrassing 12/27 132 0/0. Rock fight Vandy: I don't care if they were overrated or not, they were still ranked #9 with a 24-year old QB and a weapon at TE in Stowers and WR Junior Sherrill. Arch absolutely lit their asses up, but we took our foot off the gas because derp derp derp, Sark. Their comeback was almost 90% ref-paid. Unbelievable bullshit calls on par with the Rig XII, which if we're being honest, it would not surprise me in the least if they were in that conference at some point in their careers. The 2-pt pylon bs, the no-call DPI on Moseley's endzone missed catch, the roughing the QB shit against Filsaime that unsurprisingly wasn't reviewed, or can't be, I don't know. But yeah, Pavia and co, as much of a pussy as he is, would still take tech to the brink, if not outright beat them. We still put up as much points on them as Bama, but Bama didn't get screwed. We beat ou's ass with a switch my grandmother personally picked out. We, like most teams have gotten better, and some worse. I can say with confidence we would beat tech if we had to play them Saturday. Would they put up points? Yeah, probably. We've yet to shut out a team not named SHSU. Would we? Without question. I don't know what clicked in Arch's head after his concussion in the 4th or whatever, but he not only got better, but our line play got better. I'll also say tech would have no answer for Burke, Simmons, Hill, Lefau, Brad Spence, Hero Kanu, Ty'Anthony Smith. We lead the country in sacks with (34), which honestly surprised me. Sack leaders - Simmons (8), leads the country, Hill (3.5), Lefau (1), Smith (1), Taaffe (1), Kanu (2), he's been a blessing, Burke (3), Trey Moore (3), Maraad Watson (2), Muhammad (1), Lance Jackson (2), Spence (3) another blessing who is a beast, January (2), Z. Umeozulu (1), Orogbo (1) I keep forgetting about him. Even our front four are getting to the QB. It's our secondary that's been the issue the last 2 games (sans UF's 29 pts in week 5), not the DL front. Guilbeau is absolute dog shit and someone needs to step up so he can step down to the bench. But he's the only one with experience on that side of the ball, so we're stuck with him. Littleton has been the biggest surprise, #7 in tot tackles on the team, with 31 tot tackles overall, and 2 INT'S, 2 PD, 1 fumble recovery. Guilbeau is #6 in tot tackles with 34, 1 INT his entire career, and that was this year, 3 PD. He's been picked on repeatedly the last 2 weeks because we don't have Mcdonald or Taaffe backing him up. Taaffe has been out the last two games. He's #3 in tot, with only Hill (#1) and Jelani Mcdonald (#2) ahead of him, and Mcdonald was also out last game after the 1st qtr I believe, as was Muhammad, so we had to play Filsaime (RS-FR), Jonah Williams (FR), Kobe Black (SOPH), Derrick Williams (JR). That's not a recipe for success with only Williams having started for the first two seasons and coming back from a torn ACL. Everyone else basically has mop up duty experience. We even now have a power-up with Niblett finding his balls and taking them to the house in 2 out of the last 3 games. Niblett is #2 in total yards with 420, behind some kid at Louisville who has 2 more yards, but Niblett leads the nation in avg. Our DL would push their o-line around due to sheer strength and size combination. One of their top OL is listed at 6'0 290, and their starters are a mix of an FCS transfer, a MAC transfer, and a transfer from UNC. Only two returning starters at C and G. So no continuity going into the season. As for their defense, it's hard to tell considering the league they play in. I have no idea, and the Rig XII is massive step down from the SEC/B1G. Their OOC schedule was an absolute joke, so pick between a winless a winless in conference Oregon St at 2-7 overall, a 3-5 Kent State, or an FCS bottom-feeder AR-Pine Bluff. Tech has beaten one ranked team, #17 Utah. I guess we will find out how good they are (I guess) when they play BYU Saturday. They are still coached by Joey Mcguire and got beaten pretty handedly by Sam Pittman's Arkansas in their bowl game last year.
  20. Yeah, Mayfield's stats were pretty bad ass, and I hate myself for acknowledging that. Forgot about Hawaii with Chang and Brennan. Wasn't Brennan accused of rape or something at the time? I seem to recall he was actually a USC commit but something happened.
  21. I remember them losing their shit when Landon Collins announced on ESPN and his mom was in abject horror and disappointment. And then before Collins, Joe McKnight going to USC instead of LSU people in that stare went apocalyptic. Landon Collins will forever be my favorite commitment video of all-time. Just chef's kiss
  22. May I ask what that is, exactly? I honestly don't know.
  23. Dude, he looks like an AIDS patient from the 80s. He's not looking so good, even for his age. I've seen 70-year olds look fit, not like they're lacking exposure to the sun and a vitamin D deficiency. I actually looked this up, and weirdly (to me, at least) it's Mississippi, then Louisiana, and GA/TEX/FL
