We're for sure beating aggy, but we're losing to UGA, most likely Vandy, and I'm not counting Arkansas out. Our offensive line woes aren't going to get fixed. Both Dan Neil and Tony Hills alluded to it. Neil outright said it, if I remember correctly. Hell, I'm not even counting MSU out. We don't lack talent offensively, other than the linemen. we lack basic fundamentals and shitty play calling on top of a QB who takes 20 secs to get the ball out, and we dont know where it will go. Over the WR/TE head? The ground? 5-10 yards out of reach?
It won't be Sark firing him, it will be CDC telling Sark to let him go and find someone who can fix this mess and recruit higher caliber linemen. Flood is gone, man. 5 seasons in and we should never be in a position where we have 67% more three star linemen than the four to five, depending on the service, four or five star guys. Someone has to be the scapegoat., and I guarantee you it's Flood simply because our line recruiting has been so abhorrent. He's a lazy ass recruiter, he just grabs "big humans" with no speed. Devin and Jordan Coleman? Terrible takes. Two middling low 3 stars with "offers" (which probably weren't committable) fron Tenn, ou, and Mizzou. Devin didn't even have the same interest, as we beat out Baylor, SMU, Colorado. Duke, Houston, and Miss St for his services. Jackaon Christian? We beat out Colorado State for him. Another low 3*. Nick Brooks is our highest rated lineman at a 4*, but has no ranking number beside him, so he could be anywhere from #330 or #279.
2024? The same thing, except we got to a Center in Cruz, a high 3 star borderlining almost as a 4 star. Nate Kibble, low 3 star, but I will give him a pass since Atascocita is an O-line factory. He took just two guys that class, and instead of practicing what he preaches and moves guys along the line, we now have three true tackles playing on the line, rather than try a natural G like RS-SO Kibble in that spot instead of panicking and putting Brooks there. Kibble is the perfect G size at 6'3 330 lbs, while Brooks is between 6'7-6'8 and weighs 347 lbs. Brooks is too tall, not to mention he doesn't even know playbook because Sarkisian has to make it so convoluted, while Kibble has been in the system for over a year. As for Neto, I don't know shit.
Whoever the old Flood was as a recruiter is gone. He's a shell of himself and a net negative. I made the comparison to hiring Mack Brown back because of all the draft picks, individual player awards, and NC, but he is a shell of himself, too. All Sarkisian did was hire his buddy. He also brought in AJ Milwee, a two year analyst, and was the OC Akron for 7 seasons, who obviously doesn't understand his job at teaching the QBs, or with his other title Co-OC, we know that is also bullshit. So we have two Co-OC's in Flood and Milwee. Milwee was let go as the OC at Akron once Terry Bowden was fired. They decided it wasn't worth it to retain him, and now we see why,
Defensively we're fine if you didn't notice. Our season is not 0-6 because of PK and his staff. They have evaluated and recruited extremely well and it shows, whether that's the portal or HS. This is a Sark/Flood problem, and I've already seen a ton of people screaming at CDC, the poor man to fire Flood and get an actual OC. CDC isn't deaf and actually listens to the fans. He also watches the team, and you can't look at me and tel me "Sark can turn this around in no time." No. No he can't. Hence why Flood will be gone to protect himself from having been a HC at three different schools, and if he's fired from Texas, he'll be radioactive and won't get anther chance at running a blue blood program for a third time.
CDC absolutely loves the Director's Cup, and he will l fire anyone who isn't getting the job done that they're paid handsomely to do. Just ask David Pierce.
