The board is in all kinds of disarray, whichever way you are. I'm personally not, because I know CDC would hire a good coach. But I see all over this board to either keep him, let him go, who cares, etc. So "we" just means as a collective of people. Like I said, I've written or even haven't said I care one way or another other than my mentioning of Freeman (to me would be a perfect fit, but that's just my personal opinion).

My hope is because we have a competent and extremely competitive Athletic Director in CDC. Steve Patterson hired Charlie Strong, and Mike Perrin hired Tom Herman. CDC hasn't totally missed yet. Yes, we're in a tail spin over Sarkisian, but at the very least he got us to two CFP semis, regardless of whose players were recruited by whom. CDC fucking loves the Director's Cup. He loves it more than anyone on here loves their wives or husbands or whomever. For whatever reason that piece brings him the most joy in life, second only to his pay, and third to his spouse. I don't know if he'll hire Freeman, but he'll hire a winner.

How Arch turned it around in the 4th Qtr: A film studr for Surly assholes. Come on in!
True, and really it's just projection (although I did see Lockett make 2 catches early in the year, and Ffrench once). Wingo is just so lazy, and I don't get it. He drops easy passes. He had 12 passes thrown to him and he caught 5 for 184 yards. Imagine just catching 8 what that could have done. I know I only saw Lockett catch 2 passes, but the difference in how the two catch passes is almost night and day. But you are right, we won't know until we see them both play meaningful minutes. But imo I just think it's negligent to bring in the #2 overall WR behind Dakorian Moore and just sit him on the bench. No real prep or game time. This circle of trust crap has run its course. Every team we have played have had zero qualms with playing younger guys, whether it be WR or RB, they at least want to get them out there for real game experience, instead of holding on to their RS for whatever reason when we, the fans, and boosters would like to see how these guys match up with their peers in a real game. Only McCutcheon has played in more than 2 games, and that was the first 4 and he caught every ball, and I guess now he's a RS guy, too. Sark acts like it's blasphemous if you have more than 4 WR's who can play, and 2 TEs. What happens if Wingo or Livingstone get hurt? Just toss out those frosh and hooe for the best? That's why these guys should have been rotating at least until conference play to separate them on who's ready and who's not. Moseley had been injured for most of fall camp and early in the season, but Sark plugged him right in. Like, how about giving some of these guys a rest and send out a few new WR's to throw off their DC? Every year since 2022 our PPG have gone down from. 35 to now 26. Sorry for the ramble, it's just an annoyance because of preferential treatment for portal guys, but if you're a freshman not named Wingo, enjoy your RS. I thought we might throw in a wrinkle yesterday with Terry taking some snaps, but nope. Those went to Niblett for 1 carry for -2 yds. He doesn't belong at RB, it's obvious. He can't bruise the DL, he can't cut like Wisner. The best scenario is to use him in 21 personnel or move him out wide before snapping the ball, but even then he has trouble gaining yards. I was happy to see Baxter back, but I didn't expect much, which came to fruition, so they just stick with Wisner instead of giving him help all season once Baxter got hurt again. Terry should have been taking snaps anyway just to use as an advantage in the RZ if nothing else.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
Very, very true. That's why I said I'm in wait and see mode. It was nice for those two times we saw him, but now a full 60 mins will go one of two ways - Caldwell obliterates their defense and we score a season high against a team with a real pulse (Miss St is bad) Vandy wins, but they aren't scoring more than 16 with our defense. If they do, I'll eat all the crow. I just don't see it because last year we had no idea who Pavia was or what he could do and we thought they either lucked out beating Bama or because it was Deboer's first season. Now I think PK will constantly have a spy on him and make his life miserable. Those are the only two outcomes I see.

The Athletic Scoops Sark interested in NFL Jobs
God damn that is absolutely beyond abominable. How is that possible with everything he has been given? Money? ✔️ Recruiting top 5 classes for four years? ✔️ great DC? ✔️ DL coach? ✔️ freak athletes like Hill, Simmons, and Lance Jackson? ✔️ Inhereted 2 DT that went in the 1st and 2nd rd? ✔️Inhereted 2 DL that went 2nd rd and 7th in the 3rd rd? ✔️ intereted first rd Thorpe winner and added a 2nd rd portal? ✔️ Portaled a first & second rd WR, recruited a first rd WR? ✔️ Two number 1 rated QB recruits in their classes? ✔️ Top WRs in their classes? ✔️ Avg PPG 2022 - 34.5 Avg PPG 2023 - 35.8 Avg PPG 2024 - 33.0 Avg PPG 2025 - 26.7 It's gone down every single year (2022 being the outlier). How is this possible with recruiting in the top 1-5? He's fucked himself like Strong by hiring retreads in Kyle Flood and Jeff Banks, his buddies. He didn't hire offensively like he did defensively because they all three just coached at Bama. The same Bama that is a revolving door for coaches and yet still won. I wonder if that was because of the HC? It's like he learned nothing. Yeah, that's just not cutting it. I dont care how stubborn you are, if you can't see the issues start with you and change in offensive approach is needed, then you may be a lost cause.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
I don't know the true difference between the two, but Caldwell right now throws a better ball, and he also can run. We've only seen a small sample size, but he knows his reads and delivers the ball on time and almost perfectly. Sometimes a QB just needs better players and athletes around them for them to look better than they did at another school. I don't want t compare Chambliss to Caldwell, but Chambliss came from Ferris State, a DII school out of Michigan, and Caldwell has already played DI, even if they were not great at Troy. He had a 63% comp with 13 passing TD's and 5 rushing TD's. I believe he was their backup. He also had 8 INT's. But again, look at their players compared to our players, and it's like night and day. Is Caldwell better than Arch? I don't know. He's a smart kid, seems relaxed, knows the playbook, where everyone needs to be. We don't have a choice, so the best we can hope for is our talent level elevates his play (see: Moseley, Emmett). I think we can beat Vandy with Caldwell, but until we see what his ceiling is, that's about all I'm guessing. If he face rapes them it will give me a little more hope, but Arch will be back after Vandy. That's pretty much where my thoughts were headed. His laziness is maddening. Truly.

Kingsbury is a terrible college coach, tho, he does have a good track record with QBs, tho. Not sure I would feel good about anything else he would bring to the table.

Honestly, I don't care how old Pete Carroll is, I would be happy with him. Dude is a recruiting witch and would have so many tiea to the NFL for hiring coaches.
-
The Athletic Scoops Sark interested in NFL Jobs
Fuck yeah he would be. He would be a great culture fit, he's savvy, good recruiter, and would have a myriad of resources here. Plus he's a defensive coach, which means we would actually hire a real OC.

The Athletic Scoops Sark interested in NFL Jobs
Yes. But he's 39 and he is breaking in a new QB this year, TE, they lost RB depth with their guy tearing his ACL, replaced two Guards, a starting Pro Bowler rookie DB, with two freshmen having t step up, as well as DE and DL, and they lost their DC. So, yeah, I'm giving him some slack for that. He lost to Miami and A&M with a freshman QB and they have been winning since. So yeah, that Marcus Freeman.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
Whats crazy is he was targeted 12 times, and I know for a fact he dropped 3 that I could see in person. I don't remember anymore than that, but it could have been 5.

If Sark leaves, I hope CDC goes after Marcus Freeman. Dude is a winner, and he's young.

Metcalf is on a different plane of existence. He's a top 10 favorite ever, and I was a literal toddler when he was at Texas, but I watched a bunch of his highlights. Dude housed 10 in his career. Let's also not forget he has 30 total TD's for RB/WR and 4,,051 APY. He also had a 1k rushing season. UT mount Rushmore needs at the very minimum 20 spots. Niblett has 408 punt yards leading the nation, with a 25.5 yds per return. His 2 TDs are tied with 3 others and one behind Vicari Swain. When he houses another one, he'll tie Jordan Shipley, Aaron Ross, and Jim Moore.
-
Niblett!
Yeah, I don't think any modern player will ever break Metcalf's 10 punt return TDs. Dude was dynamic.
-
Niblett!
I was one of his biggest haters, and now i I'm one of his biggest supporters. It finally clicked for him that he doesn't need to be scared, you're going to get hit, so you might as well try to house it, to which he has done 2 times the last 3 games. He's channeled his inner Silas Bolden and says fuck it, I'm the legend now. This dude is finally a football player who understands his skill set as a returner, and I couldn't be happier for him. The best part is we get him back next year. Now, I'm not a fan of him as a RB. He's too slender, can't run between the tackles, and gets dropped either backwards or for a 1 yd gain on the RPO. If they would start him at RB and then flex him out of the backfield he could take one to the house or at least gain positive yards 8-10 minimum) if used correctly. The problem being Sarkisian isn't using him correctly.

How Arch turned it around in the 4th Qtr: A film studr for Surly assholes. Come on in!
Sark/Banks basically ask them to "chip" block, much like Atlanta does with Kyle Pitts, because he's a shitty blocker. I get it with Washington because it's his first year, but Shannon has been here 3 seasons and he couldn't block a child from getting into a fridge. He's absolutely terrible at the one job he was recruited for. It's baffling. It's worthless and a waste of a supposed all around TE (Washington) who is supposed to be in the mold of TE's like Kittle, Kelce, Mark Andrews, Sam LaPorta, Tyler Warren, and Tucker Kraft. No. I do not expect him to be any one of these dudes. They're freaks of nature in the NFL. if you can't teach your TEs to block, why are you here? Again, I don't expect Washington to be any of the aforementioned since they're pros, but Banks hasn't taught any of our TE's how to block. JT Sanders? Nope. Helm? Very little to the point he had to teach himself. Will Randle? He's been here 3 years and hasn't even been on the field as far as I know, not even ST, so no blocking there. Jack Endries is a really good pass blocker, but holy diarrhea, Batman! he's horrible at run blocking. I have no clue about Emaree Winston other than he has great hands, but based on past and current data, he's probably not a good blocker because he has no one to teach him. Gunnar Helm was considered our "best" blocker, and he was basically average to good. We need better than that. I don't know what Banks teaches, but ST and blocking aren't part of his day to day job it appears.

How Arch turned it around in the 4th Qtr: A film studr for Surly assholes. Come on in!
He seems to have absorbed quite a bit. When he came in for Arch and Moseley lined up next to him, he pointed him in the right spot. He's a smart guy. And I learned today that the reason he throws such a beautiful pass and understands how to read a legit playbook is because his HC was Gerad Parker, who is a very bright-minded OC (HC now) himself. Me too. I legitimately felt sociopathic when we were down 38-21. My date asked if I was OK, and I told her I feel nothing, which was true at that time, and then when we started splitting out wide and playing faster joy was beginning to creep in, but I held it back as a just in case we can't win. I didn't want to spoil our time over a game. Once we won I fucking screamed as loud as I possibly could. Then my woman and I finished an entire bottle of Maker's Mark. I even brought the empty bottle home as a reminder lol Yep. Dude dropped 3 yesterday, and he already dropped 2 against UF, and I think 1 against fOSU. So we're looking at 6 dropped passes so far, and that was game 7. So almost a drop per game. It doesn't sound like much, but when you see even just one it's infuriating because of how easy the pass was. This is why Sarkisian needs to give his #1 class of 5/4 star WR's (one five star, one top-50, and another top 150) guys real playing time like other teams (Jeremiah Smith, Ryan Williams, Bryant Wesco, Jr, Dakorian Moore, TJ Moore, etc ALL gained valuable experience) so if Wingo drops a pass you put in Lockett, same for Moore, you put in McCutcheon or Ffrench. Regardless, they need live reps anyway so they aren't going into next season unprepared against Ohio State, and in conference against LSU, ou, Ole Miss, Arky, Florida, aggy, and Tennessee. His line of thinking is dumb. Get them prepared so they know what to expect against guys on their level, not fOSU, UTSA, TXST. Yep. Hence why Sark needs to pull his head out of his ass, dumb down the playbook for the frosh WR's so they can get valuable playing time, not go into next year shell shocked against Ohio State, or in conference against LSU, aggy, Ole Miss, ou, etc, in case Wingo drops more passes, etc. They need real time against guys on their level. You don't sign the #1 class for mostly the defensive players to get time. It's a travesty that we have Lockett (better, stronger hands than Wingo), Ffrech who has good hands, and McCutcheon (who has yet to drop a pass and can line up next to Moore/Moseley, or even Ffrench can do the same, and also leave your freak of nature TE Nick Townsend on the bench. It's unbelievable. Is this really how he wants to start next season? With 3 new WR's with almost no experience, and a TE with zero experience to go along with Washington who will have had 1 year of experience? I don't get that line of thinking. It's dumb af. Forgot to add pic of bottle we finished and had weird, dirty sex during shots and after it was gone.
