We'll see on Brown, he's an impressionable kid, let the high wear off.  They had talk of him doing the same with USC after a visit earlier in the year.

The LSU guys have been really making a ton of assumptions in Brown's recruitment. He very well may flip, but doing that flip pick coming out of his OV weekend when he still has 3 OVs to go including TX is a bit premature. Bo Davis at LSU =/= Bo Davis at Texas.

I've posted this photo before, but it's relevant again. Just a fantastic stadium and environment to see a game in.

I have always been partial to App State and Air Force football fields. The smaller venues really show off the landscape in a number of places:

If you're a football fan who's paid attention at all the past few years, ISU. They're a better football product and a much better fanbase. I've been to a dozen Stanford games. They sucked, even at the back end of their recent glory years. Not sure what your weird mission is here.

Stanford is the gold standard for everything that doesnt matter in the new world of college athletics. They have a million non revenue sports that they are competitive in, meanwhile they have 5,000 people at their football games, rarely make the NCAA tourney in basketball, and are marginal competitors in baseball. Their biggest bargaining chip is academic prestige, which might as well be confederate dollars in this age.

What the hall am I looking at? Had it not been for the Texas flag in the background I would have thought this was some throwback German ww2 rally.

The Texas OU game seems to have an array of oversight. A very EA thing to do would be to take something they got barely right in 2013 and get it completely wrong in 2024.

I thought the gameplay and lighting looked good.

Some of the player models are odd. They have Travis Hunter looking like he has Sergio Kindle's physique. If they didn't render that guy accurately then there shouldn't be much optimism for literally anyone else. It still sounds like they haven't rounded all the edges yet. But overall it looks fun.

They didnt do any actual facial capture or real renderings due to the logistics of trying to do it for thousands of people. Im not too broken up about the player models, they look good on the field.

These kids work their asses off for years to get where they are, and I’d like to see them build something viable for their long term future instead of pissing it away before they are no longer able to earn the big bucks.
They can still party & have fun without being stupid.

In fairness he was raining 1s and not 100s.

Total stupidity. Private equity getting involved is a fools errand for both parties. For PE, they are not dealing with rational organizations in terms of business sense and ROI and expenses. They are dealing with career academics and government officials who care about stupid shit like being associated with Stanford even though they bring literally nothing to the table in this context.

For institutions, it would be oil and water in terms of some asswipe new york scalper coming in and propping his feet up on your desk and telling you that you report to him now. Im looking at you Vista, you chop shop shitbags.

    Um, that's just week 1.

    Week 2:

    Arky @ OSU (on ABC)

KSU @ Tulane (coming off two of their best seasons ever)

ISU @ Iowa (annual game, on CBS)

    KU @ Illinois

Tech @ Wash St. (still technically P-5, but definitely FBS)

    Week 3:

    UNLV @ KU

Air Force @ Baylor (usually pretty good MWC team)

Also, maybe hold the brakes on praising WVU and TCU for "trying" in this context. WVU plays Albany and TCU plays Long Island in Week 2. I didn't even know those schools existed much less had FCS programs. The lowest level team OSU plays is back to back FCS champs SDSU.

That UNLV vs KU game might be interesting if Brennan Marion gets that go-go clicking.

This dude is going to be a beast. I imagine him being a far more explosive Barryn Sorrell. Bobby and Gerry said instead of him growing into a run plugging 5 tech, he is more like a twitchy DE with plus size.

Which offense gave TAMU its greatest success in the SECX3?  Spread with Coach Bro and Johnny 8-ball.

Which offense has the vast majority of the SECX3 switched to since then?  Modified spread.

What has TAMU done to ensure its success for the next generation of TAMU football?  Gone back to powercat football.

I can't wait to hear the howling over their offensive and defensive ratings in College Football 25... More sip conspiracy!!

UFCU/ ex Bobcat Stadium model missing entire upper deck (or lower deck depending on how you look at it). 0/10 review will not be buying game.

Maybe they should have sent in a current rendering to EA...

  12. OK, so there are some badass features in this game:

CampusIQ seems like it is going to actually force you to do more game management, which is a good thing instead of spamming hail mary to Xavier Worthy every play.

The defensive switch stick that lets you switch defenders in the secondary looks really interesting.

The route tree and custom stem lengths at the line of scrimmage are going to be sweet.

The ability for defenses to disguise coverages is also going to be pretty awesome.

1500 new plays, 50 different formations, and 134 team playbooks and ability to make custom playbooks.. fuck. yes. Pistol, Veer & Shoot, Power Spread, etc. etc. etc. etc.

AI makes adjustments in game like shades, bump and run, double teams, disguise coverage, etc.

Love the animations, 400 new ones added. The one with Ollie Gordon doing the stutter step looks awesome.

Real weather impacts on cutting ability, passing accuracy, tackling, etc.

Enhanced play action effects in certain situations.

I would much rather have that STP logo on the field than the SEC logo.

I just want to see a giant sunflower seeds patch on the aggy jersey.

They may lose 6-7 games this coming year.  I know he has a huge buyout and they have a lot of money but jeez....

I think they will be better than that, he actually made some decent defensive hires in the offseason so I would imagine a decent jump on the defensive side of the ball. It wouldn't surprise me to see them only lose 2 or 3 games.
