  1. Most likely they are just going to use him as a hammer in short yardage situations. In that case, yes it kind of is. I imagine he will need to learn about 4 plays. Dive, off tackle, lead block for Arch, and leak into the flat in various formats.
  2. That sounds suspiciously like a true rivalry...
  3. I look forward to the year 2099 when Oregon falls off a cliff.
  4. Are you kidding me? To drop a massive deuce in their punchbowl with a first round knockout of a B12 school would make their fans go apocalyptic. You could live on those tears for years.
  5. tOSU has hit that annoying Bama level of talent under Saban where their third string dudes look better than everyone's first string. They can be had obviously, but I am not sure Indiana has the horses to do it.
  6. Hate to hear guys careers get cut short by injury, but wishing him the best. He was a good player on a bad team, had some growing up to do while he was here, but posts like this show me that he came out on the other side a better person.
  7. The difference with Tech is that their mega donor is young, and doesn't appear to be too meddling yet. If he decides that he is fine with donating the proceeds of one or two of his many oil wells to Tech every year, that could make them a legitimate top tier coaching destination. As crazy as it is to say, I would think long and hard about taking Tech over a number of P2 gigs. OU & Arkansas being two of those schools.
  8. Say it again.. but slower this time.
  9. I don't understand how PSU would go after one of the elite coaches. They pay Franklin's buyout, then they would go buyout another elite coach for betwen $30-50 million, then they would hire that coach at a premium contract of 10+ mil per year for x years plus have to pony up big time for staff, and THEN he will want NIL assurances. You are talking about a $150 Million proposition. That is bananas. The most likely scenario is either Rhule or Campbell. If Rhule leaves voluntarily, the buyout is $5 million. If Campbell takes another P4 coaching job, his buyout is $2 million
  10. I know there is a reason Hutson is starting over Robertson, but I didn't really see an appreciable difference when he had to come in earlier in the season. Baxter... holy shit man. Heal!
  11. I am sure to quite sure that he will get pressured back for the Texas game. The same way Ruben Owens tried to magically heal last year, and the same way Mateer tried to magically unsurgery last week.
  12. I think the difference is that it is not going to be hard to get up for a "down" SEC game the same way it is hard to get up for some of the B12 bullshit we had to deal with. Fucking Baylor was simultaneously impossible to care about but you also wanted to see them get beat by 70 for being a shit heel of a program. Houston? Yeah ok. TCU? Fuck, we should have been charging them to come play. The difference in an SEC game is that the guys on the other side generally look a lot like you, even on the bad teams.
  13. What do you want to see more, a duck locked in a battle against a native resident of Indiana, or a landthief jumping into a pen to fight a longhorn? FAFO
  14. I was always a bit puzzled by Choice's evals over some other guys. He seemed to value everything but speed and being a playmaker. Caden Durham was a guy that I was shocked they bypassed for Gibson, considering we were going so heavy on Collin Simmons from the same school.
  15. Elko is a good coach, but I do love that people are trying to connect him to the Penn State opening. Nothing would make me happier than to have A&M over rotate on another head coach and go all in with a 12 million per year number or something stupid. They would be so screwed for NIL if they did that.
  16. At this rate of improvement, we won't have another competitive game until 2033.
  17. It was known even in the offseason that Mateer was likely going to have a really hard time with the Texas defense. He was great at Wazzu against lower competition, but the moment he faced great defenses he imploded. My theory all year is that he wouldn't have anything around him to help, and that is exactly what happened. The defense rattled him, and I would be willing to be some money that Venables is gone after this season, if not before.
  18. Matt Campbell is the guy I would be going for if I were Penn State. Matt Campbell's buyout depends on the scenario: if he leaves to take another "Power 4" coaching job, the buyout is a $2 million penalty to Iowa State. However, if Iowa State were to fire him without cause, the buyout would be approximately $35.4 million as of December 1, 2025.
  19. You can split hairs all you want, but I would call no turnovers and 11-12 on third downs with a touchdown an A performance. As inept as OU was on offense, that is still an elite defense that he was having to navigate all day.
  20. The thousand yard stare in the thumbnail is amazing.
  21. Really sorry about missing hate week guys. I was traveling all last week and couldn't open up the toolbox as normal. I guess we will all just have to live with Venables stupiding his way into getting fired as a consolation prize.
  22. Ah yes.. because early commitments 16 months out are always rock solid.
  23. I got a chuckle at the Brandon Drumm funeral speech while there are fireworks going off in the background.
  24. He literally just tanked a shot at the playoffs for a slightly higher chance of not losing to Texas in Dallas. There is zero chance I would be playing Matter until he is actually ready to go. They could have endured another loss and still been ok if it meant getting right and winning out.
