Just happened to be listening to Josh Pate live while he reviewed the Kentucky/SCar game. He said "Many people may not remember this, but Mark Stoops desperately tried to leave Lexington in the offseason. He tried to get the A&M job. That is fair, and to be clear I don't expect him to ever be a top 10 coach. I just think a school like Purdue or Louisville or even Baylor would probably be happy with him knocking off a big name every couple of years and being a respectable team. They recruit like shit anyways, at least he can scheme them up.
Watching him just blow past some of the competition this year as a kick returner and receiver, it is pretty eye opening. I never really looked into him much because I figured he was going baseball or to Oklahoma for a long time. His athleticism for his size is elite.
Eh, if he would just turn down his raging asshole dial by about 50% he would be a quality P4 coach. That, and not have his family jumping out of planes.
