  1. If we get Caldwell that helps a ton on the inside. If not, it wouldn't surprise me to see January get some snaps.
  2. Shannon and Washington will both be good players. Shannon might be a bigger Gunner Helm and Washington will be the downfield threat. TBD on Randle coming off of his injury, and I would not be surprised to see Juan Davis transfer in the spring. 6th street gonna 6th street.
  3. Best wishes to X, he was a great Longhorn and deserves his shot. I loved his toughness and pure ability to get open almost every time.
  4. I am really happy with the season. Obviously nobody was happy with how things ended, but how many people honestly thought that this was a playoff team? Most win projections were 8-10 wins. Even with this year, it still felt like we went large portions of games throughout the season stuck in second gear on offense. Quinn was largely improved this season, but if he comes back and develops another year, we might actually get to see the big time 2020 Bama level offense next year. Either way, I feel great heading into the SEC. I know we can play with any team in that league and win including Georgia and Bama.
  5. It absolutely is a technique problem. First technique problem is getting nothing but air off the line when you are trying to jam the receiver. The second technique problem is that when the receiver slows down to catch the ball, that is when you turn your head to look. If the guy is flying downfield and is hit perfectly in stride, then there is really nothing you can do. But that only happened on the first pass to Polk to start the game, it was absolutely perfect. The other big plays had our guys able to make up ground and Watts had his arms literally in the receivers breadbasket and it still somehow was caught because he was just simply playing blind to the ball. Brooks was the most egregious as the receiver stopped to catch the ball and then Brooks just bowled him over well before the ball got there. Sure it prevented a big play I guess, but it could have easily been an interception.
  6. There is a difference between being a good recruiter and a good evaluator. If you make bad evaluations, and then are really good at getting those guys in the boat, that is almost worse than being an average recruiter and evaluator. Wiggins was buoyed by transfers like Bond and Burton, and even guys like Jamison Williams earlier. Those guys were largely what they were already walking in the door. They basically just had to learn the playbook and system.
  7. Blue emerged as a co-starter over the last quarter of the season. Not sure there is any real risk of the RB's bolting for next season. It will be interesting how carries get divided with Gibson and Clark in the mix.
  8. I am not sure Johnny realizes how bad that team is going to be next year..
  9. Joseph is the guy that I feel like needs to go. Gideon actually has developed Taafe into a serviceable player and has brought Williams along in a nice way this season into being the unquestioned starter heading into next year. Taafe, Thompson, and Crawford are a mixed bag of massive limitations either athletically or mentally, and Thompson was just dog shit this year. I think PK had to alter his defense to hide the safeties almost all season, but our technique on balls in the air from our defensive backs is just inexcusable. There is no reason long corners like Watts and Brooks cant turn around to make plays on the ball in the air.
  10. Both lost fumbles were after big gains in the run game, and they came within about 10 offensive plays of each other. Then we would promptly follow up good first down plays with pre snap penalties almost every single time. It is impossible to get going when you are doing stuff like that.
  11. Combination of both. The issue is primarily an overall lack of speed in the secondary. Our safeties outside of Williams are all slow as molasses, and our DBs are slow relatively speaking. Watts and Brooks got cooked off the line more times than I can count. They actually did a better job of making up the ground and being in a good position than I figured they would, but players with their back to the ball when it is in the air drives me absolutely insane. I hate that technique with a passion. Brooks flat out ran over a guy when he had time to turn his head and make a play on a ball. Watts had three balls go right by his earhole that all could have been batted down or intercepted. Penix was throwing some absolutely sick balls, and tip of the hat to him for hitting those insanely small windows, but he also left air under the ball and time for our guys to make plays and our techniques on the ball killed us.
  12. You say tomato, I say perennially underachieving program who constantly shoots themselves in the foot with any hint of success.
  13. How do you get fired 10 times in 13 seasons? Not even Shawn Watson managed that.
  14. Welcome to the nobody wants to be here bowl.
  15. How does a 270 lb center have that high of a pass grade?
  16. I had to double take at that little avatar next to aggies wire. It looks like a sheep at first glance.
  17. It’s really hard to get guys who can take kicked passes to the house consistently.
  18. The level of assuredness on so many things on this one from GAW17 is fascinating.
  19. Does aggy get class ranking credit for their own guys coming out of the portal like Bisontis?
