  1. He is going to get drafted, based on his arm talent. He also has time to improve his stock. A&M will be a big game for him, scouts are going to want to see him handle some pressure. Based on PFF, which seems low, he has nothing but upside. I would guess he is the lowest rated player on the Texas offense currently PFF SEC QB Grades for Week 10 | LouisianaSports.net | LouisianaSports.net 1. 2. This is thing people are not mentioning. He was 1st string in the spring. He went into August camp at 1st string. He didnt start in game 1, but logged starter reps. His reps went down every week. IF someone here has the snap counts by game it would be great if they posted them. I think the OTF guys said he got 11 snaps in SEC play and I believe they said 9 of them came in garbage time in the MSU game. The kid started out on 3rd base in the spring and ended up in the portal, that isnt on the coaches or because of 1 drop. God knows Worthy had plenty of drops. Blue has had plenty of drops. Sark tends to right back to guys after a drop.
  3. Lot of this will be very dependent on the combine. Does Barron run fast enough in the 40? You have to have test scores and measurements to go in the first round. Ask Mike Mamula or Anthony Richardson if you don’t believe me
  4. This is a great point, outside of the fact that he isnt the best deep threat on the team.
  5. I dont have any evidence on this and I do believe Bolden was eating into some his snaps lately, but I think the biggest reason for the drop in his snaps is Texas started playing tighter games. He got a lot of snaps, when Texas average margin of victory was 38.2 pts. Only blow out was OU the last 3 games and Sark had the starters in late to get Quinn going.
  6. Metrics say A&M, but both teams get such inconsistent QB it is really hard to predict.
  7. I wouldnt argue that point, but its still hard to bitch. Texas is giving up 11.5 pts a game. I understand people love to see defenses blitzing, but it comes with risks.
  8. Ranking systems are pretty good. I look at them more as odds. 5 stars have 50-60% chance of being NFL players. 4 stars are like 25-30%. What I dont understand is when people get all excited about a former 5 star that has ridden the bench for 3 years
  9. I believe he is saying Texas can win out with a tomato can at QB that does not turn the ball over.
  10. This might sound a bit odd, but I look at this as confirmation that Texas is building a legit contender type roster.
  11. Think it is an old familiar story. Highly ranked kid comes in. Gets beat out by a kid in his class (Moore) and a younger player (Wingo). He has been the man all his life and doesnt handle it well. I doubt the coaches wanted him to leave (Bond, Golden, and Bolden likely gone), if Cook was going to compete and have the proper attitude. I have a strong feeling that wasnt the case, but 0 direct knowledge of that.
  12. The number was ~3 in the preseason. Ewers, Banks, and Bond. I dont think the number is much different now. Williams is pushing for 1st round (will need to play much better than the last 2 games) and Ewers is a possibility (not looking to start the shit again, but there are mocks with 5 QBs in the 1st round out there)
  13. I highly doubt he goes. He doesnt have command of the offense. One of the worst passers in the SEC in the intermediate and short game, but one of the best with the deep ball. He isnt afraid to throw it. Kind of like Milroe in that regard. It works in that run heavy offense, because your safeties have to respect the deep ball.
  14. Florida- DFEI- 26 OFEI- 41 Pts per drive Offense- 64 Defense- 74 I believe their secondary is really banged up. If Quinn can handle all the simulated pressures Florida will show, this will be a relaxing afternoon. Defense needs to stop the run and force the Yale kid to beat them. Watch the kid in the slot, he ran a 10.65. He can go.
  15. Texas is the #1 ranked defense in the country. How are we complaining about that?
  16. to your pt PFF SEC QB Grades for Week 10 | LouisianaSports.net | LouisianaSports.net Two quarterbacks that had the biggest jump up and slide down in the rankings respectively were Tennessee’s Nico Iamaleava and Texas A&M’s Marcel Reed. Iaamaleava has struggled throughout most of his first season as a starter, ranking 13th in the league and 178th in the country just a week ago. However, after his performance against Kentucky he jumped all the way up to 102nd in the country and cracked the top eight in the league. Those were both season highs. We saw the opposite with Marcel Reed. A week after a legendary performance off the bench in College Station against LSU, Reed and Texas A&M got blown out on the road against South Carolina, 44-20. Reed had his first turnover of the season and the Aggie offense only mustered 351 total yards. Reed dropped all the way down to No. 207 in the country after the game.
  17. If Texas shuts down the run vs Florida, I am not sure Florida will be able to break 10 pts.
  18. We havent really seen the Quinn that threw that ball to Bond on 3rd down. According to Babers PFF graded him higher with pressure than with a clean pocket in that game. We clearly havent seen that the last 3 weeks. It is not really a discussion if this was the best Quinn we saw on the season. After this game people were talking about Quinn being the #1 QB in the draft. The latest one I saw was from CBS and had him the 5th QB taken. Right now, he is probably a reach to be 1st round, but it is the NFL and they tend to reach on QBs.
  19. Game was 31-6 late 3Q. Not much need to put up points.
  20. Quinn was at his best vs Michigan. I know overall 3rd down conversions were 63%, but he was on fire in the first half on 3rd down and lot of them were 3rd and longs. If that Quinn shows up again, Texas has a real chance at the NC.
  21. He is the leading receiver on the team in receptions and yards. I dont know if that has ever happened at Texas
  22. I dont think Texas has that true #1 WR. I think they all offer something a little different. Here is the leading receivers each game. CSU- Wingo Mich- Helm UTSA-Wingo UTSA - Bond MSU- Moore OU- Helm Georgia - Golden Vandy- Moore I have Moore as the do it all guy. He can run most the route tree and is hte best blocker. Wingo should develop into the that true # 1 guy. Bond is more of a pure speed guy and he does it well.
  23. Eugene Wilson is out. That is huge loss for Florida. There was some thought he would come back for this game. Montrell Johnson is back. He is the guy that took Etienne's job and forced him to portal to Georgia. Arguably the best group of RBs Texas will see this year.
  24. I think Texas is much more balanced at WR, than you are implying. 2 Isaiah Bond 7 23 380 16.52 4 3.3 54.3 3 Matthew Golden 8 24 332 13.83 4 3.0 41.5 4 Ryan Wingo 8 19 328 17.26 2 2.4 41.0 5 DeAndre Moore Jr. 8 17 249 14.65 5 2.1 31.1
  25. That wasnt necessary. There are better ways to make your point. I cannot unsee that
