  1. Defenses have done the opposite. They have defended the pass and dared Texas to beat them with the run . I would guess Florida will do something similar. Sit back in their 2 deep shell and see it Texas can force them out of it by executing in the run game and short passing game.
  2. They will leave the CBs on island though. You can get deep shots down the sideline, which Arch throws well. Florida is missing their best CB for this game. It will be up to the WRs to get open. Florida LBers play fast, sometimes too fast. Using some misdirection in the run game could yield some explosives.
  3. Their Right tackle is a worn-down speed bump. Florida would trade Bryce Lovett for Connor Stroh on the wire. Overall: 39.1 Run Blocking: 62.8 Pass Blocking: 27.1 (from AI, so might not have the last game in those numbers) That is where you attack on pass rush situations. Overload the right side. Bryce Lovett had a drastically inconsistent 2025 season according to PFF data, starting with a 0.0 pass block grade against Miami and a 27.1 in a subsequent game.. I honestly did not know you could get a 0 from PFF Vs Miami For starters, none of the Gators’ offensive linemen had a PFF grade above 70. The closest to that number was Knijeah Harris, who received a 64.5 offensive grade. The numbers get even worse when focusing on pass and run blocking situations in isolation. There were just two Gators to have a 70-grade or better pass blocking grade, and only one of them was an offensive lineman in starting center Jake Slaughter (70.6). Outside of him, every offensive lineman who saw the field had a PFF pass blocking grade below 35.
  4. Texas should win this game. Just saying you dont want to give Florida any confidence. Hard game to predict. Trying to predict Florida's state mind is like trying to guess your wife's mood when you pull into the driveway
  5. You have to respect Florida. They are way more talented than their record. You let them stay in the game and they may actually play to their talent. Get a quick lead and they may quit. I hate these type of games. There is no upside to beating a talented underperformer. Lose and you suck. Win and nobody cares.
  6. Hoping the rain holds off for the game. I dont want to see a game where Baugh gets 25 carries and Lagway gets like 10 throws due to weather.
  7. you may think that, but according to ESPN Texas has played the 29th hardest SOS this season.
  8. I think execution and a lack of a power run game is a much bigger problem over Sark's tenure. Play caller thing is low hanging fruit every fan loves to point out. Sark calls 75-90 calls a game, he is going to have some shitty calls.
  9. I do not think Sark will move on from Flood. I think those 2 are tied at the hip. Best case is probably a string of fired OL coaches coming in as analysts. I am not sure play calling is the biggest issue on the offense.
  10. To be honest, I would like to see Texas bring in an OL coach from the NFL. Sark runs a very complex offense, but the pass protection schemes are not high level (not uncommon in college). Georgia attacked that last year in game 1. We are at the part of the cycle that defenses are ahead of the offenses. They have figured out the spread and RPO game (in general).
  11. the point was Conner was actually very good at an aspect of his job, so you could point to something to say he should be playing He had 90 pass blocking during the regular season last year. Put that in perspective, Goosby is at 75.4 this year (oddly, 80.8 in run blocking)
  12. For all the shit the Connor got, he was a very good pass blocking guard. You could argue elite. That is not Stroh.
  13. this is a disturbing trend. We heard about Neto early, Chatman, and Kibble. Those guys just seem to disappear after year 1 after hearing how much tehestaff loves their potential. Perhaps, that is on me for listening to the 9.95ers.
  14. Been hearing about Sark wanting to run IZ from day one, but it has not happened. To be honest it is not unreasonable for Sark to believe the staff could develop an OL in 5 years that can run IZ. The excuses have varied from young OL to RB. At some point you have to ask if Flood's proficiency lies elsewhere. The only thing that has been a constant under Sark and Flood is the OL has been a finesse OL (screeners vs road graders). It is the biggest reason the redzone has been a major issue under Sark, when he does not have RBs that can hide the issues.
  15. Brooks just got back from his unofficial suspension and played well (at RT). I cannot blame Flood for that one.
  16. OZ blocking and pass pro was fine. They were solid there last year. The line is better at screening people. They have struggled moving people, which is kind of annoying when I have heard about big humans for 4-5 years. We seem to be coaching toward developing screeners. The lack of aggression on IZ and gap schemes is noticeable. Flood is a size queen, but that is not matching his proficiency. The difference in physicality between the DL and OL is night and day. If we did not see for the last 4-5 years, you would swear a different staff is coaching the offense and that includes the S&C.
  17. I cannot imagine how much money I would have lost to you, if you bet me he would be the designated blocker this year.
  18. said this a week ago or something like that. This kid is physical. He gets after it, which is shocking based on his HS film. He still has work to do on blocking, but it is not for a lack of effort. Always thought of him as an athletic pass catching TE. Just like to see him get rewarded for the dirty work, especially since he is the most athletic TE.
  19. I wouldn’t read much into Ark. They are basically the Taylen Green show. When he is playing well they are dangerous. They are not good when he is off his game. He is also been inconsistent, but his highs are some of the best in the country. Ark showed some quit yesterday. They know their coach is a dead man walking. Ark is going to be a front runner team. Give them early confidence and you will probably have a 4Q game on your hands. Get them down early and your 2nd string will be playing in the 4Q. Hoping to see this play out with Florida on Saturday. They are on the brink
  20. I am on the other side of this. I think we are in the trough of the offensive cycle. Overall defenses are doing a much better job on things like RPOs that led to offenses having the upper hand. Feels to me like the team that can consistently put up 24-28 pts in the playoffs will win the NC.
  21. Biggest shock in that game was Bobo not using the QB run game much. Bama has really struggled with that. Georgia still ran the ball well. Might have led to a little more scoring had he paid attention to the scouting report early in the game. He wore that front down, but a too little too late
  22. Learned: 1. Clemson is not good. Maybe the worst of the preseason rankings. How did so many people get this wrong, myself included 2. LSU moving up on the back of Clemson win was bad. That offense has struggled all year 3. Things can change, but that Georgia defense isn’t looking like a Georgia defense. They are really struggling to get any pressure on the QB. Not sure if secondary is on par or that is result of the lack of pressure 4. Miss State is really improved. Just took Tenn to OT. Offense looks solid. 5. Offenses look behind defenses in general.
  23. Nobody argues that (well maybe a few here). I think people giving up on Arch are the minority. The counter point is that the majority of QBs that struggle in year 1 that end up as insurance salesmen. This is what makes CFB fun and infuriating at the same time.
  24. It can be a lot of things. Anything from the QB just missed, QB expected the WR to break at 10 and come back to 9 on his out and the WR broke at 10 and ended up at 13, to QB anticipated a different adjustment than the WR.
